I was wondering if it is possible to post the links also in this treat. My laptop is really old and when I try to open another program or even Internet, everything started to crash.. I've participated before with the links in global chat, but it didn't work for me so I had to type everything on my iphone in the link bar, by the time I had it correct, the person was already found.
I'm sorry, but internet is required to view the screenshots.
Words can't express how much I want that prize.

Rules:
1. Two staff members will hide somewhere within Kanto and the Sevii Islands
2. The hiders will post gradually larger screenshots of their location in Global Chat, roughly once per minute.
3. Stand in a square immediately adjacent to the hider and trade them to win the round.
4. There will be 10 rounds, and one possible tie-breaker round should there be a tie.
5. Hider will remain in position until found. When a player finds a hider, they receive 1 point.
6. If after 10 minutes the hider has not been found, the round ends and no one gets the points.
7. At the end of the event, the person with the most points wins the prize.Note: All participants must have access to all of Kanto and the Sevii Islands.

I think you should all focus on giving people incentive for people to show up to the current tournaments rather than add more gimmicks or formats that people won't really be inclined to attend.
The only thing I can see being semi-gimmicky is 3OU/3UU, and from what I can tell, that's only in effect until NU is more developed. One of the biggest suggestions that we get for team tournaments are having multiple metas. Also, a leading complaint about these tournaments is the tier used. I guess you can say they go hand-in-hand. With that being said, I believe people will attend.

It's caused by minimizing your client.
There may be other triggers that I'm unaware of, though.
Edit: Relogging also seems to cause it.

Also a team tournament of only 8 teams just sounds bad.
It's only 8 teams because if it were 16, it would be as if it were an 80 contestant tournament (5 x 16 = 80). We simply do not have the manpower to run an 80 contestant, 6v6 tournament without it taking an extremely long amount of time.
I just thought I'd clear that up in the case that someone didn't realize.

I personally dislike this idea. It would be somewhat confusing to arrange who is playing what bracket.
Here's what will happen. Let's assume I'm the host, just for ease of the explanation.
I, being the host, will call teams and have their team leader whisper me which players are doing which type of battle.
Example: "[PRLS] Peerless vs. [LYLE] KingCheerios, leaders please whisper me which members are battling in which meta".
After this, I will inform the other refs who will be battling who. From there, refs can pick out who they want to referee and post. Example: "JSTUD vs ThinkNice (OU Singles)". Many of the competitive teams know each other well and are friendly toward each other. I'm sure you can figure out who you'll be battling beforehand.

Although i have a 22" screen and another 14" smaller one connected as well, having a smaller gui would be nice to have, like in minecraft. Maybe even an option to disable the gui like the chat box.

Pressing F12 will completely disable the GUI. Pressing F12 again will re-enable it.

Sorry, I was a little confused by the wording. Do we need 5 members for a team?
You may have 3-5 members for a team. Only 3 members can battle per round.
Example:
Registered Players - PlayerA, PlayerB, PlayerC, PlayerD, PlayerEAny 3 can compete per round---
Round 1:PlayerA, PlayerD, PlayerE
You may switch who competes each round---
Round 2:PlayerA, PlayerC, PlayerB

My story:
Story goes from August 1st, 2012 - Now (Relationship is August 8th, 2012 - Now)
Alright, here we go! On August 1st last year I started dating this girl named Selena. I'll stick with first names here, I don't see a problem with that. Anyway, we started dating. I knew her for about a year at the time, and she was a pretty cool kid. She was cute, so I asked her out. I didn't see her for the next few days, but we talked a lot via texting and it was fun. August 4th came (I'm strange with remembering dates) and I went to go see her at the fair. She would dye her hair a lot, silly colors so I was only going on what she described. She wasn't there alone, she was there with around 7 friends. I walked up to her ad hugged her without seeing her face. It turns out I hugged the wrong girl. It was a very awkward moment. I was just there hugging a random girl that I've never met before while my girlfriend was walking up to me. Selena said to me, "So I see you've met Chloe". Selena was laid back so she didn't care. She even roamed off a few times which was a sign that we wouldn't last. I didn't mind it though. I started talking to Chloe there at that fair. We walked around trying to find Selena the whole time and found some rides to ride. I soon started to realize how awesome she was. As the fair came to an end we found Selena, I gave her a kiss and said my goodbyes.
Soon after, I was dumped by Selena. I didn't mind at all. I went home and added Chloe on facebook. She didn't really live near me (30 minutes by car) so we talked there for a while. I got her number and we started texting. I remember the first thing I ever said to her after the fair was, "Selena didn't tell me she had such cute friends :x". After a few days (August 8th), after talking to Chloe for days straight, I decided to ask her out. She said yes. I was so happy. I've always been that guy that was "too sweet" when girls wanted a bad boy, and she was the girl who always wanted somebody to treat her right. We went to the pool that wednesday. While there, I met her mom, who didn't seem to like me at the time. I liked Chloe a lot. She was seriously the only thing I could think about. The next time I saw her was at her little sister's birthday party. The party was at a skating rink, and Chloe couldn't skate to save her life. So me, being a big manly man, guided her. It was very cute seeing her try and fail miserably. Skipping ahead---
Months went by and we didn't fight once. It came to my attention that this might be something serious. Another thing came to mind. I was starting to actually love this girl. I'm not the kind of guy that says, "I love you" after a week into a relationship. I took my time with this and 3 months later I finally told her how I felt. It turns out she felt the same way. It was an amazing day indeed. Christmas came, and I had to do something. I took her ice skating, where she failed miserably again. I still found it very cute. After ice skating I took her to a movie, then took her shopping. I got early birthday money and decided to blow a majority of it on her. I don't regret it a single bit. Her eyes when I got these things for her, no, nothing is better than that. In return I got a teddy bear, but I'm not much for material objects anyway. The fact that it was a gift from her was enough to get me very happy.Chloe--- Chloe is cool. She is cute, adorable even. She's clingy, which I love. Call me weird but I'd rather have someone who cares enough to want to talk to me all of the time than someone who wants to say something to me once a day. She is the silliest girl I've ever met. She has the same taste in music as me, which is any rock from punk to deathcore. inb4 haters, I could care less though. She is also very sweet. I don't feel like bragging anymore about how cool she is, so yeah.
March and so on! This is when I discovered PokeMMO. That was back in my, "What are IVs and EVs" day. I never worked with them before PokeMMO. I guess you can say I became a no life, but I still saw her a lot. Actually, she was probably the only reason I left my house. That is, other than school. In April, it was about the same. Of course, being with her was still amazing. We always have things to talk about since she's pretty random, so things have never really been boring for us. I really need to get her into PokeMMO someday, but I honestly she's not good with computers. I'll have to help her a bit.
Present day! Today we're still going strong. In over a year we've never had a fight. I guess we're what you'd call an ideal couple. I'm not here to brag, but I wouldn't trade a single day with her.
I wrote too much. My fingers hurt.

Will we be getting a redo one for August?
The Team Tournament for August never happened due to the lack of referees available. The Team Tournament requires at least six refs to run two team matches (2 x 3 = 6) at a time, whereas most other tournaments require four. On top of this, this tournament is 50% larger than most (3 x 16 = 48). With that being said, referees must know they will be available the whole time, and with it being OU 6v6 and 48 contestants, many referees cannot stay the whole time. Now, to answer your question, no. The Team Tournament for August will not be redone. I don't feel it would be fair to the winning team to be in the Hall of Fame for everyone to see for only a few weeks, whereas others have been there for 1-2 months.
To everyone else--- I appreciate the feedback and I will take it into account with next month's tournament. Whether it's me hosting or somebody else, we will reference this thread on your feedback (please don't complain, but normal feedback is nice). I personally felt that enough teams out there had many competitive players that enjoy UU. Isn't the point of being a great trainer to take what you have and use it to the best of your ability?
Keep the feedback coming in a professional manner please. Instead of, "this sucks!!" try something like, "I don't like this. Here are reasons why---". It comes across a lot easier to staff, and instead of feeling insulted we will probably agree with you. That is, if it is logical. We appreciate the feedback as it helps us improve on the way these tournaments are run. You are the playerbase, you make the game happen. Of course we want you guys to be happy. Help us help you.
