Physical KVM switch

I’ve always heard about the “one key press = one action” But I’m not sure where a physical kvm switch would fall on this. I shiny hunt on two devices, my PC and my laptop on two different accounts. I thought about using a physical kvm switch so i didn’t need to use 2 keyboards, i could just press the switch to change what computer I’m controlling. Is this allowed? Is it only allowed if the switch allows A or B input, and not allowed if it controls both A and B input simultaneously?
