This will probably be available over time when Johto is implamented (through bug contest) or when Solrock is implamented later in the game. I'd say patience is needed. And not that Sun Stone itself is much needed for now imo.

Yes, berries and pokeballs can't be put there. But I think it's not an issue with pokeballs, since we don't use it outside of battling anyway.
