I'm going to unlock this thread, it's unfair to allow a GoT thread instead of a General Television thread if I don't allow a Owari no Seraph thread outside of the Anime thread. I realize that having a General Thread for anime is kinda bad. While It's great for little animes like say acchi kocchi that you simply want to mention, talk about a bit, then move on to another subject, for a larger anime or ongoing ones that deserves more discussion a General Anime thread would put a limit on the discussion that could be had. There are some rules that I'm working on for anime topics in OT, but they should follow this: Do not make a completely irrelevant thread: This means do not create a topic on a show like Acchi Kocchi because it's a rather small anime and it simply doesn't generate much discusssion. I also think any current Anime topics should be ONGOING animes, and locked about a month after the anime is finished. This is a bridge I'll cross when I get to it, and I'll discuss it with the others when it's relevant. I understand that this comes down to opinion, but I don't see any way around that. I will have to decide what is popular enough and worthy of it's own thread.

Locked, posts about PokeMMO belong in GD. Honestly though, this post shouldn't really be there either. While I can appreciate that you have an opinion, simply stating an opinion without leaving anything to generate discussion is not worthy of it's own thread.

which thread? The Krul one? only reason I left that was cause I thought Krul was a full anime, but since it's just a character it doesn't really warrant a full thread to itself. We tried the split recommendation and discussion threads and it didn't work. However I feel it's wrong to not allow separate anime discussion threads, and I apologize for not addressing this sooner, but considering we have a GoT thread instead of a General Television Thread I think it's unfair to not allow separate anime threads. THERE ARE HOWEVER some rules to be put into place: - don't spam - the anime has to be relevant I'm talking like GoT tier relevant, there needs to be a very large following for it to be worthy of it's own thread. If it's going to generate 1-2 pages of discussion most just put it in the current anime thread. - Don't post too many, else I'll consider it spam. EDIT: I will lock it if it's completely irrelevant, like I'm not going to post an Acchi Kocchi thread because it's not much to talk about and it's not very popular I don't think. I understand that this very much comes down to opinion, but with something that's got such a wide variety of topics to cover like OT does, it really does have to come down to human intelligence rather than building a system. The alternative is to run it by a system, in which case nobody would be allowed to post new topics, we'd just have a bunch of General topics and a suggestion box.

the gritty details would be figured out later, I had a pretty good system going with the Index, but tl dr if it's relevant it's worth putting in an archive. Also I agree, locked threads that are shit from the start would be trashed, but threads like the Cyberbulling Discussion thread would definitely be on there as I left them in the section in the hopes that one day I would be able to unlock them and because they're still interesting reads.

cool now something relavent to OT, would an Off Topic Archive be useful? It'd be like the index, but more like an archive and infinitely more useful for finding dead threads etc. The index was definitely helpful for me when I needed to look to see if a thread already existed, but king suggested that I make it an archive instead of an index and bring it back. I'd like to discuss having one with the other moderators, but i figure i'd see if it'd be useful at all to anyone before I do.

but from my perspective I wouldn't have done it differently. BEFORE I GIVE MY OPINION READ THIS: I don't have anything to do with developer decisions. I do not know any more than you do about what the devs do. These are my opinions and do not reflect the opinions of the other staff. I am not obligated to say nice things about people. If you look at it from a design standpoint there's always shinies coming in. The only way they go out is by people getting banned, which means the amount of shinies is always increasing. As a mechanic this is shit, especially considering shinies are one of our primary end games. We don't have a proper shiny sink to keep shinies coming out of the economy at the same or greater rate that they're coming in so the price will decrease, this can be seen especially in cheaper shinies like ratatta. That being said, it'd be best to limit them, so that if a proper shiny sink is ever implemented there will be less damage that has to be reversed before we get to a stable point where the incoming shinies =- outgoing shinies. I don't feel like explaining MMO mechanics at 4:30 am so google it if you have no clue what i'm talking about. edit: hell even I dont know what im talking about at this point EDIT: this is just on the mechanic, i'm not gonna say anything about it being hidden from the community because honestly I don't know the full story.

I'm gonna talk with the others and see if we can decide on a more logical solution to situations similar to this. When I lock a thread for attracting shitposts it's not the people posting the useless stuff that get's punished, it's the people who want to post in that thread that get punished and that's not fair at all. also sorry OS, I like discussion threads but I don't have time to watch over them 24/7.

I don't really see the point of a thread if the whole point is to get answers to your questions via a PM. Google is probably a better place to get answers. An Oldschool Runescape General thread would work, but as for this topic I think it falls under in the Off Topic Rules. Locking for not being able to generate much discussion, being fairly pointless(see above for explanation), and a negative response from the community.

Reasons for locking: This was based on another moderators opinion, so I can truthfully claim that it was not my emotions that influenced this decision.

If this thread just turns into Shitpost General Thread I'll lock it because I've got other things to do than hide off-topic posts. If you'd like to make posts that aren't relevant to the thread they're being posted in, it'd be best to do that in Laidback Zone since that's what that thread is for. I unlocked the thread because I was able to set aside my pride and admit I made a decision based on my emotions, however since unlocking it a large majority of the posts in this thread have been off topic and I cannot set aside the time to babysit people. I like to be nice and let you guys have your fun, but there's a point when I have to step in and make decisions based on a moderator point of view rather than the perspective of a friend and fellow OT poster.
