It's still playable - it just sucks how we can't play with our own style. The levelcap stops you from levelling one Pokémon, refighting trainers for money for pokéballs is a lot harder ESPECIALLY if you've not built your team in the 'right way', you can't have several starters unless you get them to level 25 first... there are more things, but I can't think of them all.

Again, thats your own personal opinion - many DON'T like the changes, which is why I'm presenting the concept of a more casual / legacy mode. I've played it too, since 2012-09-05, and I personally enjoyed it alongside friends and others I met on the way.

Except what I'm describing is literally PokéMMO in the past, before they added/modified all this stuff. If you like it the way you do, that's fine - because what I'm suggesting is fully optional.

Because like I've said, the game itself has changes so that you can't play it the same way. PokéMMO isn't only fire red, that and you can't simply play fire red with other people online.

What I'm asking for is a more casual alternate mode, not for the entire game to be rolled back. Also, while this isn't needed I feel it'd be a good feature. Like I said a lot of people I know personally have stopped playing because the game went from multiplayer Pokémon to competitive only multiplayer Pokémon. Instead of forcing all the casual stuff out the door, why not just allow the people who don't want to play seriously but still want to play as an MMO/with friends to have the original playstyle? It's not like it would unbalance the entire game, with the GTL limits etc

I've been playing the game since... I'unno, 2014? Maybe 2015. It was a lot of fun back then, being able to play Pokémon in my own way and occasionally battle other trainers on my way to get the gym badges. Once Hoenn was added, I was able to box my Pokémon and train an entirely new team, experimenting with different builds and holding onto those too after getting all of the badges. I spent a long time playing the game in the way I wanted to play it, forming my own team in the ways I myself would play either one of the generations. While doing this I was able to interact with the community, trade Pokémon with other people or on the GTL like it were a modern game, and recieve scam mail from Nigerian Princes. I'm not even kidding, that actually happened. But over the years I've been doing this, there have been changes that have been turning me away from the game. A lot of people take the game more seriously, so naturally things started to gear towards a more competitive angle. Breeding was modified, EXP limits were introduced, etc etc. It's not only me that's been drawn away - I've been watching arguments over the EXP limits in the chat just now, and friends of mine won't play the game anymore as they just want to play casual Pokémon in 3 generations but are forced to all of these weird changes that make it harder to play. This may be a big ask, but I feel its semi-warranted after the large amounts of competitive features that have been added over the years. - Casual characters - Can't compete in tournaments or trade with default characters - Can play the games with same features of the originals, breeding included(?) - Not held back by EXP caps I assume something like this is possible - a special box you'd check in character creation to label your character as a 'casual mode' character. They can't interact with the other type as much, but can still trade with other casual players. tl;dr: characters that cant interact in competitions or trade with default playstyle characters, but can play fire red just like fire red etc

Playing with sprites again *edited gloves and eyes. Might change a bit more later EDIT: Wanted to try give it a ponytail but failed horribly .3. Figured I'd still post it, somebody could perhaps take the idea from it and fix it. Also, Moetal, do you have a list of Pokémon that need major work on still? Perhaps ones that are still in original Moemon state. I want to try making something original using bases from older versions and touching them up. (And, completely unrelated I saw something similar to my character in the moemon so I decided I'd very quickly make an icon for a chat thing I use: yes, I'm aware the hair is badly done)

yo, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to actually spriting with limited palettes so I'm a bit curious. Do I have to stick to a set palette instead of making my own? And is the maximum 16 colors right?

Her eyes look a little too different on the front sprite and back sprite. On the back they look a bit derpy, imo. Here's what I consider slightly better:

Papi is that you? I don't know why, just reminds me of Papi. Also, I'm really fond of the red hair. The chestnut hair reminds me of the liquid you get in instant noodles.

Perhaps try patching a different rom? By different rom I just mean from a different source

I'm fond of this, but it ...feels a bit weird. was meta the word for it? When you think about it, it's a Ditto holding a Ditto. But I'm just thinking too deep into this, aren't I? EDIT: The ditto is kind of reminding me of the happy masks salesman. You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

I felt Ditto's arms were weirdly shaded, so I attempted to fix it. I'm not sure how it turned out. EDIT: I also did a thing with Ditto's mouth, just in an attempt to make her 'cuter'. I'm not too sure about this.

I tried to make Magikarp's face a little less... derp. The sprite on the right is unchanged, though (I forgot which was which, what was front and what was back. Brain leak.) EDIT: Changed the eyes a bit to reflect on the other sprite. Thoughts?

Touched up the umbrella slightly and added like a pixel to the dress. Did I finally help a project I like?

I tried my best. Turned out pretty meh... well, I haven't sprited any Moemon before so it's a decent attempt.

Well what I was saying is there's a lot of focus on the Pokémon who were already remade into Moemon, but they're being remade again and again while some Pokémon still have their default Moemon sprites.

Oh, so like Goku! ...no? ok Though, as my thoughts, what I was thinking was we probably should be making new moemon to replace the old ones in the new patches, unless the others had problems or just plain weren't moe enough. There are plenty of Pokémon I know that don't have remakes, and I'm kind of confused why some of them don't. Again, I'm not complaining, this is just a little idea. This is simply a suggestion. There isn't really anything I don't like about this way, though. I kind of like the way you're trying to make the Pokémon live up to their name of Moemon but again, this is only a little suggestion. also sorry for the comment that kind of repeated itself. I'm like that.

It's my opinion, but I like the face much better now. I think it's great, and is about ready for the game. However, Moetal the Moe god will see if it is worthy of being in the game. Also, as a question, will this ever be getting a custom PokéMMO GUI made for it?

Hold on, I can't quite get this working. I have my patched Fire Red rom in the folder with the Soul Silver rom, and all it did was change the Pokémon sprites and gave me the option to let a Pokémon follow me around (yet I couldn't actually see the Pokémon). How do I have all the usual Moémon but have a Pokémon strolling behind me at the same time? or is it impossible

This might be a really stupid question, which I'm guessing it is, but how do you make Pokémon follow you with Moémon installed? That's if you can which I'm guessing not, but I wonder if you can.

Are Arbok's eyes supposed to look like that? They look weird and not really moe at all. In fact, I think Arbok kind of needs a remake. But that's just my opinion. I don't know if it's just me, so here's a screenshot. [spoiler][/spoiler]
