  1. @Summrs It takes actually playing to game to be aware of this, so I could see how you could be confused if you had just looked at the timestamps.
  2. Spamming the forums and talking down to developers is a horrible approach. Again, this has been suggested many times, and 4 of them are your own threads. Here's a collection of other quest threads, it is safe to say this idea has been brought to the developers attention. I wouldn't worry so much about suggesting it.
  3. The devs used to communicate avidly about what's to come, but when any delays happened(either from technical challenges or personal issues), people became malicious and began DMing staff as if their lives were dependent on the next update. There were even attempts to make light of these behaviors by releasing torch and pitchfork items for players to wield when they felt outraged. There is no laziness or disrespectful actions spurring from anything besides learning their lessons around community interactions, and threads like this likely only solidify their choices to be less socially engaged with the playerbase. Anyone who has been playing from the start likely knows how communication from the devs was much more possible back then, and you could probably even track down an exact period of time where they decided to just keep to themselves by looking at their forum posting history. Harassment and entitlement from players you only expected to serve joyous opportunities to is likely a massive hit to the motivation side of development. The developers didn't just decide to charge players, it serves the purpose of keeping servers/services alive and development time a possibility. People love to assume they make a ton of raw funds off of PokeMMO, but there are 3rd parties that need their cut to continue such a massive live service game to run. Xsolla and Paymentwall(Alipay) being the most direct and easiest to track, as they are of course the services used to purchase RP. Between these services, roughly 10% of all RP purchased are already allocated to third parties by the developers. Then there's speculating server costs, assuming there is a 10 thousand player cap(which is likely on the low end considering the forums themselves have roughly 1000 users online during peak times, and queues have been reported to hit 10k waiting and still have players login moments later), the costs could range from 500$ USD - 2000$ USD for a single server. We are also aware that they pay for a public test server(which could imply a private test server exists) potentially tripling the assumed costs for servers alone. With these costs also come a ballooning storage capacity, considering players are constantly finding Pokémon with their own unique IDs, and storage/collection is a large aspect of the game. From here, we can also consider the forums themselves also have a hosting cost, with it's own storage capacity growing as well. Another hosted website is the support website, allowing players to send tickets 24/7, resulting in another service cost for storage and consistent uptime. This is all before assuming what the developers are taking for themselves for wages. It is difficult to hear your point when you say there's zero communication, but also point out that there is some communication from staff here and there in the same post. There is also a pretty large leap from worshipping the devs, to respecting and appreciating their accomplishments thus far. While I can't expect others to share my exact perspective, I can certainly voice my opinion just as anyone else, whether it's felt to be wrong or otherwise. Regardless, I do believe there are far better ways of attaining information, rather than impudently stomping about.. especially when there is precedence for extended times between updates visible on this very forum. I will agree that no one can be totally correct on this topic(aside from the developers themselves), but again it's just my perspective I am relaying here. ❤️‍🔥
  4. Sorry I implied you deserve Clown reacts, but you'll get over it, just like this issue when an update does drop.
  5. You're lazy, you won't even make your own Pokemon MMO.
  6. Considering the average time between updates is 2-5 months, and we're only at month 6 without an update, this thread gives off an entitled aura. There have been times players have waited nearly 9 months for an update, and even then there was hardly any posts about waiting for content. Players really did have more perspective when this game first released, and were far more appreciative. The developers don't owe the players anything, and taking a stance on an issue that doesn't exist yet is probably not the best approach. Be thankful for every moment you've had on this project they've taken the time to figure out(both technically and legally), and try your best to be a bit more encouraging towards the developers. The only content starved homeless children were the players that had no MMO option, but they've been feeding us for 11 FUCKING YEARS. I might've disagreed with the 'bring back clown reaction' suggestion too hastily, because there are countless replies in this thread that are just a circus act.

  13. With the example given, you would be asking for original sprite assets, differing only slightly, with a different name, and data written out from the ground up. We wouldn't get Greninja.. we would get Ninjagren. I am sure this wouldn't be ideal for many, especially the developers as they would need to make 70+ original asset and code additions just for gen 6 alone. It's just not a realistic ask based around the logic that they have added some useful items/abilities from later generations. This is of course just my opinion based around what I have heard, for all I know there are some loopholes the developers are looking to utilize.
  14. It is my understanding that implementing anything beyond gen 5 would be difficult to navigate from a legal standpoint. Things like altering how moves and abilities work are happening server-side using original code, and this does not breach any copyright. If I have heard correctly, gen 6 and beyond began using copyright methods and trademark methods to keep their smaller assets and code from being utilized(instead of just broad copyright/trademarks placed on the games themselves). There is also some additional complications that have been speculated upon many times, such as the octo-directional movement-- which is the additional ability to move diagonally. Should sprites overlay the original 3d models from gen 6, the developers would need to disable diagonal movement, or design sprites for characters moving diagonally. Another speculated issue would be file size, gen 6 boasts nearly 2GB in size, requiring quite a bit more space. This would hinder mobile players storage spaces, as well as lower spec PC's loading times. Not to mention, the graphics improvements requiring much more memory and processing power. As fun as it would be, I don't see this happening anytime soon. If there is any additional information on this topic I'm sure many would love to hear it, this is just what I've come to understand over years of speculation and direct lines of questioning to developers in-game. It can be nice to get real statements on these topics, but the developers are players and fans just like us, so we should remember not to ask too much of them. ❤️

  22. Typically you aren't supposed to suggest multiple things in 1 thread. The thread below is the official thread for posting a bundle of suggestions.
  23. This is a reasonable and well written synopsis of your time with PokeMMO, it's.. actually kinda fun reading about how newer players experience the game. That being said, you may want to boil some of these thoughts down in to suggestions in the suggestion box section! I know I would certainly support most of these ideas. ❤️
