  1. First off, the whole "it won't happen because we have Pokemon cries" thing is bullshit. I know we get a sound notification for when challenged to a battle in person and, if you'd read the any previous comments, you would see that I was asking for something like that for matchmaking. I see no reason it shouldn't be implemented as it has absolutely no downsides at all other than the devs having to set that noise to be triggered by a matchmaking battle.
  2. Pretty sure it takes up the same percentage of screen space no matter how big your monitor is. On a smaller screen, everything will be proportionally smaller than on a larger screen. Of course, if you meant to say "window" instead of "screen", I can see your point. Still, everything about that situation would be re-sizable.
  3. I never thought about it, but this would be a great feature. Being able to tune in to two of your chat tabs would be great instead of having numerous tabs that are nearly identical that you keep switching between. Only problem I can see from a user's point of view is the amount of space it would take up on the screen, but that will depend on the player. Probably have some way to turn one or both of them off.
  4. Sigh... I get that. It's not what I'm asking at all. Tell me how YOU would have the NPC explain EV's. Tell me how you want them to say it. Because if you can't think of a good way to make it seem lore-friendly and useful at the same time, I highly doubt the devs are going to implement it.
  5. Tell me, how do you propose the NPC explains the intricacies, or even the basics, or EV's and how to train them without breaking the lore or seeming out of place? It's all good and well that the NPC you have in mind have a place to live, but how do they actually do their job?
  6. First off, we already have NPC's that mention nature and hint at IV's. Second, that's all your suggestion would accomplish - hinting at them. They do not explain the system, nor offer any actual help outside of vaguely suggesting that there is some reward for killing a bunch of the same Pokemon and some punishment for giving the wrong item to your Pokemon. There is no way to explain the IV/EV system while remaining lore-friendly.
  7. Not everyone is able to focus on such a repetitive, menial task for that long. Personally, it takes me at least three hours to actually EV a stat, but I have ADHD and so focusing on something like that for more than a couple minutes at a time is nearly impossible. I prefer just doing matchmaking until I have 10k BP to spend on vitamins.
  8. Joe kinda wants to be an Aroma Lady >.>
  9. The battle with your rival and the guy that teaches you how to catch a Pokemon. Those are the basics of a Pokemon game. You have to remember that PokeMMO is built on top of another game. That game already has tutorials for the very basics. As for having an NPC somewhere in the game to teach you about EV's, IV's, and the such, it's simply not lore-friendly to have an NPC that, according to all accounts and measures, believes that the world of Pokemon is the real world explaining how to manipulate your Pokemon's growth to achieve certain goals. It's simply not immersive enough (though, how immersive can a Pokemon game really be?). The devs want nothing in the game that blatantly breaks the immersion without some sort of lore-friendly explanation.
  10. Well, it wouldn't make much sense to have "Aroma Lady Joe" or "Cue Ball Sally". Some of them should be gender-specific, but have an equal number for both genders.
  11. In what way would the game be improved by requiring another task to get through the story without said task actually helping veteran players at any time in the game? Apart from helping players completely new to competitive play learn something they will only need to be told once, this has no actual benefits. Overall, I think it would be more of a hindrance than a boon.
  12. If possible, it'd be cool if our in-battle sprite changed to match the trainer class we were currently using.
  13. Assuming this becomes a thing, I'm pretty sure "optional quest" and "required to get badges" don't work together.
  14. Hm... okay then. Thanks for this. I might have to get a Flygon now.
  15. Pretty much the title. I've been thinking about it, and I just can't figure out why Flygon has gotten so popular. I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on the situation. P.S. I couldn't decide whether this should go in Competition Alley or General Discussion. If it's in the wrong place, please move it.
  16. Or just keep it exactly how it is, but allow us to see all teachable moves when looking at the list.
  17. Oi, please don't make it something he says every time. It's bad enough we have to deal with that when breeding.
  18. You haven't seen what I've seen... Shit was bad, man... O.O Seriously though, you're right about that being a tiny reason. I wasn't actually serious about that.
  19. Well, not everyone can reliably win Ranked matches. Assuming you can actually win 5 matches in a row, that's still only a profit of 15k due to the fee. You have to remember that it's really only the long-term or competitive players that are on the forums and the other 80% of the playerbase normally isn't able to win Ranked matches or get a long win-streak at the Battle Tower. The devs are less worried about the small amount of competitive players and more worried about attracting and keeping the casual players.
  20. This would bring back all the Jumpeon spam... Please don't. If people started asking "HW 2 JMUP???" again, I might have to stop playing.
  21. Or, instead of all this, simply allow people to use the automated system to run their own tournaments. The host sets up a tournament, chooses whether it will be public or invitation only, chooses the rules, etc... and then people sign up for it. Much like choosing an official tournament to join, but with another tab for player-made events. The host can post up the prize and have the game hold it in limbo, automatically giving it to the winner after the tournament is over.
  22. Good to see we can all agree. Seems the devs like to do this to us a lot.
  23. If I understand this correctly, you're saying that the name was changed because the devs are not legally able to create an item with the same name and effect of a Nintendo-licensed in-game item, right? If that's not what you meant, I'm completely lost.
  24. But the Swift/Special bands are not from Gen 3. They are items that were introduced in Gen 4. The replacements in PokeMMO have the same effects, but different names. Why name it something else if not for copyright reasons?
