  1. What about those three spikes on Tyranitar's head, maybe make her front hair/bangs in the shape of that/incorporate into current design? Rough concept, something like this but it blends in more with hair/is hair (maybe like 3 ahoge or something). ?

  3. @ilovemoemon Um... That Charizard is the current sprite though? That pose would be pretty difficult to fit into a 64x64 pixels image so you'll have to settle with this.
  4. @IratePomegranate "Crappy attempt" (seriously though, looks good) Tried making her foot not look so small and kinda centered/lowered the backsprite. I would suggest having her left arm stick out in the backsprite with fan in hand to match the front sprite, but I can't visualize it without it looking wonky in my head, so that pose seems to be the best for not making it look weird (not like it matters that much, still looks nice). Edit: I'd like to add that some backsprites will probably be difficult, if not impossible, to match in some cases, so if anyone's working on something good but is worried about syncing the front/back, just realize that's it's more of a bonus if they match for continuity, not a requirement.

  6. @Zaranius You need LunarIPS or something similar. You then open the ips file you want to apply to the rom and confirm, or you can double click the ips file (with LunarIPS installed) then locate the rom you need to patch it with and confirm and you should be good. For anyone else with technical help questions, please ask them in their appropriate topics/threads :)

So I found this (no idea who the original artist is) after seeing this (by phantasm818) http://phantasm818.deviantart.com/art/Meganium-Moemon-564798199 So I edited it into this (making the torso wider - so she doesn't like like a stick attached to more appropriately sized legs/hips - redrew the legs and shrunk them down a little because they were too big, and made the arm longer) as a rough idea. I think it'd look better with a less pointy/non-pointy dress and with decently drawn arms and hand(s), as well as the top part of her dress around her chest/left armpit (our right) not looking like crap. Help :( (Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!) Edit: Also, if you're feeling adventurous you could try and change the posing of her legs, because we have enough 'mons sitting on both knees like this.
  9. @Kickern They both look good, but maybe a short/medium length ponytail lower on the back of the head would look better for the whole "hammer warrior" look she has (assuming that longer hair could get in the way during fights), something like this: ?
  10. @Aryeos As far as I can tell, sprites like the above Alakazam by CrookedWings427 are already 8 bits as I tested just now by pasting it into photoshop and seeing this: Be careful though, because some sprites might still be over 16 colors, though usually if posted by Moetal or someone else saying that it's "done/ready to implement" you're probably fine compiling them. Further testing/proof:
  11. @Aryeos Plenty of programs like Photoshop, paint.net and one called irfanview I think can reduce an image's colors/check to see if they have gone over the 16 color limit. @ZiggyZag I don't know about making Alakazam's head bigger, it already looks good for moemon proportions IMO, anything bigger would start making her look like a full blown chibi with normal sized limbs.
  12. Quick edit so might look crappy. If we keep the long hair I don't think we should keep the tied up twintails, they make it look like she has an insane amount of hair if the back part is still that poofy. Free hanging twintails looks better IMO (especially if you consider a psychic 'mon makes things float sometimes). Edit: No long hair in the back is more accurate but it feels quite empty now.
  13. @laGashetaHardcore Oh crap. Well, maybe remove the brown band on the hair and it could pass as Alakazam with really long hair :P It looks cute though :( (WHY DIDN'T THEY DESIGN ALAKAZAM WITH A TAIL TOO?! It can learn Iron Tail...) (Maybe we could pass it off as what Alakazam should look like when it evolves, with a tail?) :(
  14. @laGashetaHardcore That's Alakazam, not Kadabra. Kadabra only holds one spoon and has red/pink marks on its head and abdomen.
  15. @CrookedWings427 They both look good though :( The left is more accurate and still looks cute but the right still looks cute with that skirt. Guess my final answer would be left considering that Alakazam could be considered a "performer" and those one-piece school swimsuit-esque* outfits fit the entertainer aspect/image very well. Edit: *Finally remembered, but leotard, leotard was the word I was looking for.

  17. @IratePomegranate Sorry for not being more clear, that's how the sleeves should be/act because they are loose. I meant that the front sprite's right arm sleeve should be down at her elbow to match the backsprite's right arm sleeve.
  18. @IratePomegranate The right eye in the front sprite bothers me, it looks small/closed compared to the left one (I know it's supposed to be slightly smaller looking because it's the eye furthest from the pov, but it also looks too low on her face compared to the left). The eyebrows also seem kinda small and don't "arc"/match the curve of the top of the eye all that much (not saying make the eyebrow parallel to the curve of the top, just match the degree of the curve of the top of the eye a little more/not as "sharp" of a curve I guess). Idk, I fiddled around a little and came up with this for the front sprite at least. Hopefully it at least conveys the image/idea I'm trying to illustrate so someone else can execute a better looking pair of eyes and eyebrows than what I made (butchered). Edit: Just noticed her right arm in the front sprite doesn't match the backsprite, the sleeve is up to her wrist. Also, the hand looks more like she's pointing at the viewer than putting it at the corner of her mouth like she's looking at some yummy food:
  19. @IratePomegranate Looks good but for some reason the hat looks massive in the front sprite to me (taller, anyway). In the backsprite from the bottom to the top it's about as tall as her face is (the front of the hat), whereas in the front sprite the part where the yellow "X" is looks like it is raised higher than it should be. Idk think it might be the angle and I'm just imagining things.
  20. @IratePomegranate One thing I would like to point out for Sharpedo is that its mouth is usually open and you can see its sharp teeth. Doesn't have to have sharp teeth/a fang though, I think we have quite a few 'mons already like that. I think Hardcore was using this as a reference, which does have the fin on the back of the hat like you added. (edit: barely noticed the fangs)
  21. Moetal never said her chest needs to be big, just that it should be bigger (think about it, most fully grown women you see have a noticeable enough bust). She could still be on the smaller side but still have enough there that you can tell she's the "grown up/matured" version of the previous 'mons. She doesn't have to be huge like Ryoka Narusawa Aren't these what she's based off of? I'm pretty sure her chest can be considered medium/average.
  22. There needs to be a distinction between where her right breast is/protrudes closer to viewer than the right arm. In the shadows where her right arm is it just looks like skin that blends together and it was making her look more flat in the front sprite than she really is. Something like this.
