  1. No, not give us free tutor moves, just that it shouldn't be any more tedious then simply collecting resources until you have enough instead of having them break when using higher level pokemon for the purpose of slowing us down. Anything that requires grinding shouldn't have a percentage of failure to increase time spent grinding for consumables. Edit: Like, imagine you are earning cash via payday with your level 100 persian and because it's over level'd there's an 80% chance that the trainer doesn't pay you when you beat them just to slow you down, it doesn't make any sense and only serves the purpose of prolonging the eternal grind.
  2. I have no idea how you can breed a competitive comp from scratch within an afternoon, especially when you include BP/move tutors and such but you are right when you say the prep work is the problem, that's the point i've been trying to get across. It costs so much and requires large amounts of grinding. My issue has to do with how much grinding is required to get results. It's extremely time consuming and takes away from the game play, or rather it replaces it. I do believe that old players who are loaded with breeders have a large advantage when it comes to breeding in comparison to those who must catch boxes of pokemon and then confirm IV's. Confirming and $$ farming are terrible and should be addressed. Those older players with thousands of hours played, I don't expect to be on equal terms but to make an expensive, high quality team from scratch is completely different from using scraps in your PC box, and every player with thousands of hours will be loaded due to cloning before the breeding change was introduced so the changes will hurt new players far more then older players. . If you can seriously make a solid team in an afternoon I would love to watch that on live stream sometime if you're willing because I don't believe its possible in such a short time span. I can tell you one thing though, 1.8 million in bracers alone for 6x31 is a hell of a lot of payday farming and while 6x31 is absolutely not necessary, the point is that making a full team from scratch requires a massive amount of grinding, especially if your pokemon require BP, shards or hidden power to be effective. The vast majority of the gameplay should not be sweeping the islands and confirming IV's, it's really terrible. I think the current system is alright, it's just just such a massive gold sink that forces you to repeat boring tasks for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and it's just the most boring waste of time that's forced down players throats. 25,000 BP for extreme speed, someone mentioned earlier that extreme speed alone is worth 1 mil or so, while also unable to be passed down as an egg move is just ridiculous. Also can you please explain to me why sweeping the elite 4 on a cooldown or a cave/sea for items in order to use move tutors or breed via everstones is such an issue? Is it really so important to force additional hours of grinding for no other purpose then to delay the power spike of learning good moves and having the resources to breed when it's a completely necessary part of the game? Please don't just say it's good for the economy, because bracers, everstones, revives/potions consumed when farming BP doesn't add anything to the economy, it just slows down players from getting their basics together so they can start battling. If money is increased, prices for pokemon etc will naturally go up to compensate, however potions/pokeballs bracers etc will become less of a gold sink so people don't have to grind endlessly for a complete vital part of team building. So I don't see how reducing that completely unnecessary gold sink or increasing the base cash flow from grinding to reduce the hours required to create a team is a negative in any way.
  3. One month of constant grinding, congratulations. You don't even have a full team yet, better keep grinding! Want to battle inbetween then? Well you don't have a team so too bad, get on your next couple weeks of pure grinding to finish your team! Old players who cloned their high IV pokemon have incredible breeders available and the grinding that takes a couple months for us takes only a couple days for them.
  4. 1. You don't use more than 3 braces, but other people will. One of the reasons you don't is because it is outrageously expensive and time consuming to use lots of them. 2. Doubled for a good reason. 3. Payday has been changed and the payout was a lot higher with how it worked originally. I see no reason the E4 should not give any money or why hold items should break when using thief. 4. Good, that will make everyone happier when that's implemented.
  5. Yeah I know, but hey, I was asked what I would change and that's the first thing I would do :)
  6. Alright, lets see. 1. Reduce the prices of bracers by 50%. This can be increased or decreased though honestly I believe it should be decreased further. This is a good place to start because the current price is just terrible considering you need LOTS of them. 2. BP rewards should be doubled and/or prices of the battle tower should be cut in half. Also the 20% reduction if you heal is just stupid. Who is going to sacrifice their rewards? Just bring potions and revives. This should be free and will help reduce the cost of consumables. 3. Payday should work the way it used to, if not, at least allow the elite 4 to provide cash because stripping that from the players is pointless. Same with farming hold items, breaking them just because of a high level pokemon using thief is stupid. When i started, i trained a persian and gave it thief only to find out i wasted my TM and could not collect items due to breaking. 4. Better way to confirm IV's, of course I heard this is already being looked into which surprises me since this would reduce the amount of grinding which would make the game better and that seems to be a big no-no. All 4 of those above things are frustrating and do not improve the gameplay at all. It's just filler to get what you want. Anything that is extra padding and filler that you need to battle should be reduced across the board so people aren't discouraged by hundreds of hours of grinding.
  7. mmo before anything else? Mmo before pokemon? Mmo before being a game? Mmo =/= endless grind. Pokemon from the very beginning was an rpg game and turning it into an mmo doesn't mean stuffing it with grind. I would say in an mmorpg, take WoW for example, grinding to max level is the equivalent of going through the in-game pokemon story. Then you do some grinding, quests and random activities for better equips. In pokemon, thats equal to battle tower and breeding, yes? Then you get to end game where you PvP for prizes and rating, right? So as an mmorpg, pokemmo follows those which is great. The problem? Pokemon was designed around the end game PvP and instead of encouraging that you are forcing the grind on trivial things like payday/bracers/ditto hunting. These do not need to be as time consuming as they are for the game to function and only takes away from the battling experience which is the primary reason people even play pokemon. You are so focused on trying to copy the setup for mmorpg's that you literally forgot the reason why people like pokemon... how sad. If you really believe this is the way the game should be played then you have failed your community when it comes to delivering what we want.
  8. I agree that the friend safari is terrible, but economy is not the most important thing about an mmorpg, and you guys just don't understand that. What is more important than the economy? The experience! 99% of the game should not be grinding! You can still have a healthy economy without forcing hundreds of hours of grinding down our throats! Edit: Look in this thread alone at the players who are telling you straight up: I would NOT play this game if i had to start from scratch because of how awful it is for new players. Look at it! This is honestly how we feel! Why don't you see the problem?
  9. I'm not one to judge someone elses lifestyle, but you clearly have a lot of spare time to sink into this game and the truth is that most people with social lives outside of gaming and/or working jobs cannot afford to invest that much time into a game. You don't like the old system? Fine. Not everyone does, it's understandable why it had issues, however keeping the new system is not the problem. The issue here is the massive gold sink and effort that one is required to put forth. That much money is nothing to you, but to newer players its one hell of a grind. I really don't believe you are walking the same path as new players, however under the assumption that you know what it's like, how can you honestly believe this is whats best for the game? You really believe investing this much time and effort just to have a team with hidden power etc is reasonable? It's the most frustrating, boring, endless, annoying, discouraging thing that makes the entire experience just to play the game.
  10. In the new gen's dittos are NOT consumables. They can also be found starting with 2 perfect IV's in the wild with that friend thing. Going to add that too, then? Hm? You have bred 6x31 perfect pokemon several times from scratch? Or from the breeders you stockpiled before the breeding changes? ^^ There is a huge difference! Even if you did from scratch, you don't find that amount to be way too much? Who here ENJOYS grinding on pokemmo? ANYONE? So why stuff this game till its overflowing with as much grind as possible? Does this make for an enjoyable experience? No. Since you already got your perfect 6x31 pokemon with hidden power and all the items you could ever need, why would you ever care what its like for everyone else? Obviously you don't at all. Edit: Guess who it hurts the most? NEW PLAYERS! Everyone agrees, are you truly unable to see it? Or do you just care so little about the frustrating experience we are going through?
  11. If you consider grinding 2 mil in bracers for each individual pokemon a possibility for the vast majority of players, you are mistaken. Yes it is POSSIBLE, but NOBODY who has a job or does anything in life besides continuous grinding will EVER achieve it. Try it yourself from scratch. Really you think dittos are easier to catch? I use the magikarp trick so the dittos should have to catch rate of magikarp and be unable to attack me, yet they can break out of ultra balls on 1 HP. Easier? How? Edit: I expect a gap between new and old players. Veterans should have multiple comps, shinies and access to all BP items etc by then for sure. However how many hours do you personally expect us to put in of pure grinding? Why is everything so expensive and why is everything screwing us? Why does the elite 4 give no money? Why is payday nerfed? Why does each bracer cost 15k? Why do everstones break if I hunt them with my higher level pokemon? Why are BP attacks 25k? It's all about making it harder for newer players and keeping us behind as much as possible
  12. Here is the message you are giving to new players: 1.You are expected to grind for everything. EVERYTHING. Not just grind through the story to get access to late game resources, but additional grind for each individual resource. Not only this, all resources such as dittos, breeders, bracers and everstones are now consumables that are consumed after one use. So getting a few is no good, you need hundreds. On top of this the basic rate of obtaining resources (reduced payday/ditto catch rate) are implemented to increase the grind. 2. You will NEVER have a 6x31 comp. The new system is intentionally designed so that anyone new starting this game is forbidden from having 6x31 comps and even the necessity of breeding for hidden power is out of reach for most. New players are told to settle for less and accept our natural disadvantage because the system is designed to be so unfair that only veteran players will have access to perfect pokemon and the grind to catchup is more time consuming then ever. 3. While this "settling" breeding method indeed reduces an endless grind into a merely tedious grind, those on the top will stay on the top. This system is rigged so that anyone joining now has to do all of the slave labor for the same resources that veteran players endlessly cloned and can trade/sell whenever they please. 4. Nobody cares about your time, nor do they want you to succeed. The goal is not to expand on the competitive player base or improve the quality of gameplay, it's to increase the value of resources within the game to keep the majority poor and the rich the best by default. Seeing people turn a pokemon game into some economics garbage instead of giving the players what they came here for is wrong. Yup, i said it. It's greedy and wrong, but I bet it's an ego trip for the nerds with a superiority complex who love to power abuse in mmorpg's ^^
  13. Yeah... that's the problem. The massive price tag on Bracers/BP Moves/Items etc requires massive grind. Nerfing the base ability to obtain money/hold items via grinding is just icing on top of the grind wall to make it even more painful. Really, that's the best way to describe it. Painful
  14. Well obviously, a 6x31 team with HP Breeding is pretty much unobtainable to most people, however those who had access to the old breeding system for years have access to all of this while anyone starting out is screwed. The rich have everything, the poor have to put far more effort for half the reward Edit: I really doubt that that 1% who has 6x31 teams put this kind of effort into getting them and certainly not 2 million each
  15. Hello! I'm somewhat new to pokemmo, having just over 100 hours played so far i've come to a few disheartening conclusions based on the modifications made to the original game. My main issue is that this server is very noob unfriendly due to the unbalanced gap between veterans and everyone else. While there are plenty of players willing to give advice and pokemon to newer players to help them get going, i've noticed that when the in-game story is completed, the post game activities such as breeding, item/gold farming & trainer tower are extremely unforgiving. Although I am by no means new to pokemon, as a new player to this server i feel completely overwhelmed by the amount of grinding i'm expected to go through in order to accomplish anything. Getting a full pokemon team with good IV's, hidden power, items and moves is unbelievably time consuming and expensive. Looking at Gilan's guide to breeding since the breeding update, while it's still possible to create a high quality team, it's also an insane amount of grind that screws over new players. For example, in this guide the price of creating a 6x31 pokemon from scratch is 1.8 million in bracers alone(WTF?!) PLUS a load of 31 IV dittos that are very expensive as well! There is SO much grinding and for some reason even grinding itself is nerfed. Payday giving reduced funds, hold items breaking when using thief with a higher level pokemon and even random bullshit such as removing the elite four's cash payout and in-game nuggets so new players have less money. If i round up that 1.8 mil to 2 mil, assuming you buy some dittos and don't literally hunt for each individual ditto, that's basically 12 million just for one team of 6x31 pokemon. Seriously? You want to make it MUCH harder in every single possible way to achieve the primary goal of any trainer: Get a good team of pokemon and battle people. This just isn't fair and to expect everyone to commit this much time and effort just to have a half way decent team is insane. I honestly believe the reason you veterans are fine with it is because you already have huge amount of resources to work with. You have money, "leftover pokemon" with good IV's to breed, and a team (that you bred while it was still a reasonable thing to accomplish) so of course it's no problem to you, only to those who are starting out. Do you expect me to quit my job and grind for months just so I can play rated battles and not get wrecked with low IV's/lack of expensive moves and items?(extreme speed & choice band for example). There is just such a massive gap between new players and veterans and it's so disappointing, you can't even battle them because there is no chance in hell you can win against their teams full of special hidden powers and perfect IV's (which they had the opportunity to mass before the breeding update). The new breeding makes it a hell of a lot harder, but everyone who already stockpiled boxes of perfect pokemon are just so far ahead you can never catch up without dedicating your life to this game. Basically, you decided to make the rich get richer, they have everything they need and are comfortable with any update, while the poor get poorer and need much more grind then the game originally intended just to have a chance, nothing more. I understand wanting to have a good economy and stuff, but seriously it comes at the expense of the new players. Starting off your adventure in a hole so deep that you need months of hardcore grinding to even do anything remotely competitive is just sad. You want people to put in effort to reap rewards? Sure. You want people to grind months on end at an extremely reduced payout in order to be on the same playing field as those who had the opportunity to create teams(not just one team after several months of grinding). I'm sorry but it's just not realistic. Most players on this server will never get there, it's just too much work for so little reward. You can argue that in an mmorpg, there will always be gaps like this, however this is pokemon lol like seriously, battling is the reason people play. People don't want to grind endlessly.. they want to battle! Forcing as much filler grinding down my throat doesn't improve the gaming experience, it just makes the grinding endless and the absolutely worst part of pokemon is milked beyond hell just so those at the top can stay there. :/ You know, the effort for creating a team might have seemed too low to you, but it doesn't change the fact that the damage is already done, people already have multiple 6x31 bagons in their PC's etc and being unable to ever have multiple teams is really sad, is a battle simulator literally the only option outside of months (possibly over a year of grind for more casual players) before they can battle on equal terms? The fact that you care more about your in-game economy and less about creating a fun pokemon mmorpg experience/encouraging players to battle and compete is well... greedy and disgusts me tbh. Don't even think about having multiple teams. You feel like making a sunny day team? Nope, too bad. You only get one team and you have to work your ass off for it. Want 2? Be prepared to no life or it just wont ever happen. I don't expect any changes based on what I said, I just want you to know how it feels to join this game thinking "hell yeah a pokemon mmorpg based in gen 3 where i can battle and trade with people!" only to find myself repeating boring tasks continuously with no end in sight. Everyone knows there is grind involved in pokemon and mmorpg, but adding as much padding as possible before you can even get a taste of the good stuff isn't fun or rewarding. These changes are the equivalent of naruto/bleach fillers. You people want me to endure that. Endure. Not play. Not enjoy. Endure. "No bullshit just games" ? More like no games, just grind. Yeah, might want to change that slogan since it's a complete lie. Oh, yeah, one last thing. So I saw you were testing gen 4 for updates to this game, yes? You know what else you should test? Try power leveling a new character through all 16 badges and making a 6x31 team from scratch, no left over pokemon and no resources or help from your main or friends. I DARE you to record it and see just how long it takes and see if this is truly what you believe should be required for everyone to have access to what all veteran players currently have. Sitting there with your boxes full of perfect pokemon made before these updates doesn't impress me, lets see how you judge your own updates when you see it from a beginners point of view, since clearly, you can only see it from an economic point of view and nothing more. This was my experience, and I absolutely could not contain my resentment for these changes any longer. Edit: This post isn't about trying to get a 6x31 team. My point is that everything from farming cash, items, BP, breeding, literally everything has been reduced to a hellish endless grind. a 6x31 team is just the worst offender, yet it's something that veteran players have stockpiled before the breeding update. The changes don't effect them, it's the new players who are hurt the most by any and all updates that increase the amount of grind required to reach an objective.
