  1. There's just so much wasted space in the current Battle UI which can be utilised for more practical things.
  2. You know how in Showdown, there are indicators that show what stats are boosted by how many stages, well something like that should be added the PokeMMO battle screens. Basically, it'll help keep track of how many spikes, or stat boosts, etc. and it will help people who start spectating a match not from the beginning to see what is going on. Shouldn't be that hard, just a basic tooltip of some sort to indicate whether a gyara has boosted up to +6 ATK and +6 Speed, or that there are 3x spikes on the field. This can even possibly pave the way for more animations, for example an arcanine switching in could show that it's ability caused said gyara's atk to go down to +5, etc. Although, not sure why anyone would make a switch like that. There is a lot of empty space in the battle screens that can be utilised. I suggest under the pokemon name bars, you can have icons pointing upward with a number overlaid ranging from -6 to +6. Different colours of the arrows could stand for different stats, or you could even use words. TL;DR - Add stat indicators.
  3. As the title says. Kind of annoying when you have to wait 40 seconds to say something in channel chat, if you just posted something in the trade chat. Also, does not make sense logically either. Or instead of enforcing 40 seconds for channel chat as well, you could enforce only the 10 seconds that is usually enforced for channel chat itself. It makes sense to wait 10 seconds for channel chat if you posted in trade chat, compared to waiting for 40 seconds. And you could enforce another 40 seconds for trade chat instead of 10 seconds for posting in channel chat, but this hinders people who use multiple different chat types. TL;DR - Enforce wait times for only the specific chat type that was used and not for all chats.
  4. wow you finally got a chance to use that comic you've been saving up. high five
  5. so where can i catch torterra?
  6. but dex number tho.
  7. It's not out of place, you don't need to do all those courses to continue the beginning of the story. You can have Oak suggest that you go back to finish your diploma/Ph.D after E4. Even better, that could be made a requirement. At the beginning, you are able to do basic courses to get your Trainer Card, and it won't let you do the Diploma courses until you beat E4.
  8. That's where the Pokemon Academy quests come in. You have to remember, this game isn't Fire Red anymore. It's PokeMMO, a completely different game from Fire Red despite being based on it. Nothing wrong with modifying the story a bit in the beginning to add some necessary information in for newbies.
  9. That moment when no one realizes his own 18m is missing to buy his own shitty ditto. iirc, that ditto was like 6x8-, not sure why anyone would spend that much on such a ditto...
  10. To be honest, it shouldn't matter. If Joe wants to be Aroma Lady, power to him.
  11. Of course. And it does help the "end-game" issue by adding some kind of content/mini-quests to earn those tags.
  12. Sure, it may be a hindrance. But, everyday there are tons of questions in the channel chat asking how to do things that most active players (that usually use forums) already know how to do. As an MMO, there NEEDS to be a tutorial quest. To be completely honest, the Forums cannot be the place for newbies to look for help, it's simply not part of the game. I played RuneScape, and never looked at the forums. But I still knew how shit could be done because of the first quest being a tutorial that teaches the player, the basics. As you progress, there are other quests that teach you more and reward you with EXP, but those are always optional if considered a hindrance by people that may be making alts on RuneScape.
  13. Or you could just have a list open up like it does in the mart. It will show the items (i.e. the moves), their costs, and it'll hence tell you how many shards you're holding at the same time.
  14. They could even easily add it into the game story and have Oak suggest you check out the Pokemon Academy after you deliver the parcel to him. It can be further enforced by the old man not letting you pass without your trainer ID, and he could then lead you to the front of the academy.
  15. As I said, all courses are optional :P If you want to get badges and proceed with the story, you need to get trainer card. Maybe the basic courses will be a requirement for the story, but this is necessary to make it known to the trainer that this Pokemon Academy exists, and there are benefits to doing this quest. If you want to buy braces at 10k instead of 12k, you need Ph.D If you want to buy BF battle items like leftovers, Vitamins, Choice bands, life balls, etc at the current price you get the Diploma, otherwise they cost a bit more without them.
  16. This is to add more so to the end-game content. Basically we can be rewarded for our feats in the Trainer Tower or Battle Frontier in addition to the negligible BP amount. You can start off with basic tags that could be purchased for about 50k or so. This would display before your username in place of the team tag or after the team tag and before the username. Or maybe give the player a chance to choose what they want displayed and how so. Basic tags: Beauty -> purchasable in Celadon Biker-> purchasable in Fuschia Bird Keeper -> ? Bug Catcher -> purchasable in Pewter Fisherman -> purchaseable in Lavender Hiker -> purchasable in One Island Juggler -> ? Sailor -> purschasable in Vermillion Scientist -> purchasable in cinnabar Swimmer -> ? etc. Quest tags: Blackbelt -> earned when you beat the fighting dojo and other trainers in the gym in Saffron in difficult 6x6 tournament mode battle. Champion -> For completing E4 second time. Beating E4 in Kanto, allows you to use this tag only in Kanto. Same for Hoenn. Pokémon Trainer -> For getting all badges. All badges in Kanto allows you to use this tag only in Kanto, Same for Hoenn. Rocket Grunt -> Awarded with purchasing Rocket Uniform. Leader -> For being leader of a team. Goes away when no longer a leader of a team. Pokemon Breeder -> Awarded by old man after breeding about 5 times. Battle Frontier tags: Young Couple -> male/female link battle 1 successful completion. Cool Couple -> male/female link battle 5 successful completion. Ace Duo -> link battle 5 successful completion. Arena Tycoon -> x amount of wins in applicable mode. Pyramid King -> x amount of wins in applicable mode for male. Pike Queen -> x amount of wins in applicable mode for female. Trainer Tower tags: Cooltrainer -> x amount of wins in a row. Expert -> x amount of wins in a row, more than ^ Ace Trainer -> x amount of wins in a row, more than ^ Purchasable for BP: Gentleman Lass PokeManiac Super Nerd Pokefan Rocket Executive Dragon Tamer Magma Admin Aqua Admin Magma Leader Aqua Leader Ninja Boy This is just a basic idea of trainer classes, there are more trainer classes available here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Trainer_classes There can also be one ultimate class, maybe something like PokeMMO Champion, which only one player in the whole game could hold. It could be treated like the Mewtwo/Rayquaza event. However, it wouldn't be ideal to have the holding trainer accept all battles ALL the time. There would be an immunity period of lets say 7 days, where they cant lose it at all. But once those 7 days are over, there could be an announcement leading to an instant tournament creation, and the winner of the tournament will be awarded the title for the next 7 days. These tags however, are to be treated like vanity items, have monetary value and are tradeable, maybe except for PokeMMO Champion. Also, your team name that displays, could be turned into a tag as well that you earn when you join a team. And you lose it when you leave a team, so this could give us an option to possibly even hide the team tag and use an alternative tag.
  17. This is a suggestion that can help newcomers to the game get more into the competitive scene. The idea is to basically have an in-game tutorial. And by this, I don't mean an in-game menu with a wall of text, but more like an optional quest. For example, we should utilise the in-game NPCs for this. We know that there is the Pokemon Academy in the second town of each game (Hoenn and Kanto) in Viridian and Rustboro. And both these schools appear before the first gym battle takes place. We can make it so that you can't get your Trainer Card without graduating from this academy. And since you don't have your Trainer Card, you won't be able to challenge gym leaders. This can allow new players to be educated on natures, IVs, EVs, etc earlier in the game and this would ease the transition into the competitive scene. Now, I haven't really worked how exactly it will work, but I was thinking that there could be a number of courses that you could take. For example a course on Natures, on IVs, on EVs, on breeding basics, breeding natures, breeding braces, type effectiveness, status moves, etc. Now, since a newcomer wouldn't really necessarily need to know ALL of this information, they could earn their trainer card after let's say completing the courses on type effectiveness, status moves/statuses, levelling up and evolution. Afterwards, they could return do some more courses on let's say Natures, IVs and EVs to earn like a Pokemon Diploma. Using this diploma, they could have maybe a higher encounter rate on everstones, and/or discounted price of vitamins at the BF for BP. Then they could go on to complete all the remaining courses to earn a Pokemon Ph.D which could reward them with discounted breeding braces, etc. For that to work, the breeding braces lets say could cost 12k regularly without the Ph.D, but with it would cost 10k. Same thing with the vitamins, they'd cost more to buy without the Pokemon Diploma. Now, I'm not exactly sure how the courses themself would work, but it really needs to be interactive rather than just a dialogue with an NPC. Edit: Ideas of courses: Basic Courses - for Trainer Card: - Type Effectiveness - Status Moves - Consumable Items (Potions, medicines, etc) - Stat-enhancing items/berries - Evolutions Advanced Courses - for Pokemon Diploma: - Natures - IVs - EVs - EV-reducing berries - Happiness - Features about PokeMMO (GTL, chat channels, different types of chat, etc) (maybe a small discount for GTL fee with Diploma OR higher fee for GTL without diploma) - Possible education about item pricing for GTL, etc. - How to use Pokedex to figure out egg moves, how pokemon evolve, what EVs they give off, etc. ---> incentive for completing pokedex. Intermediate Courses - for Pokemon Ph.D: - Breeding braces - Egg hatching - Chain breeding egg moves - Competitive Status Moves (substitute, spikes, swords dance, dragon dance, etc) - Basic team building?

  21. But it's true, they stuck the wild pokemon of Leaf Green and Fire red on the same maps together.
  22. So, this was a simple idea I came up with while I was playing League of Legends. So, to include the entire dex of 386 Pokemon, they've been added to the maps where they were not present in the real games. The idea is to have channel specific themes, for example, certain pokemon can only be caught on a certain channel in a certain map instead of having all of them appear on the map. This will allow for another dimension/mechanic in the game as well as promote channel theme-specific chats. This also helps the fact that there are too many species of pokemon available in the wild in map areas. Also what could be done, is there can be channel specific activities and channel specific drops/item pick-ups. For example, on a berry-themed channel, the drops/pickups can be berries/seeds, and that channel could be where all berry farmers can chill. Furthermore, pokemon which dont usually appear in the wild in the original Fire red/emerald games, that are lets say, grass type, could appear on those maps while on this channel. Or the channel themes could be sorted by pokemon types, for example the normal type channel, is the only channel where you can encounter snorlax or pickup silk.
  23. Want to buy a 4x31 ditto. Will make an offer depending on it's IVs. Please message me in-game: DashB. If not available, send me a PM.
  24. I think this is something that can be easily implemented and would find helpful as well since a lot of my comps are level 100 and now I regret that. I would like to have those comps back at level 50, but it's not worth the time, effort and monetary cost to make those comps again.
