  1. Noice, just let me know when we doing that so we can arrange it :D
  2. Ya as the others said, the suggestion is literally flawed because of the numbers, that’s why we agreed that it shouldn’t get too high and yes 2/30k is too high, but like EGGPLANT pointed out, it is the concept that matters.
  3. Ok I just thought about one. A Pokemon League Superstars run. Each of us picks any gym leader/e4 member and use a team like theirs. Example, I typed (Koga pokemon) and scrolled through his teams on pedia till I got one I liked with 6 mons. (We don't have to use all 6 mons) We will use our own movesets. What’s with the (Double team) spam Koga dafuq. XD They will most likely be bred, but we can also discuss any concerns :D Actually I’m pretty excited for this now, contact me on discord or on here if you wanna!
  4. Should hit a maximum though, else you'd be able to hatch the shiny you want if it gets too high.
  5. I play this game solo or with friends, now my friends are in teams and all, but I don't want to just join a team through them, might feel weird. So any team that doesn't mind a scrub on their roaster? My only condition is that the members can chat in English, or at least most of them. xD Mind: Do it, what's the worst thing that could happen?
  6. Depends, like, are there specific rules to the run? atm I have these alt runs with friends: Soul link - Random pokedex breeds - Random region catches - Mono run So if you have a rules based run for Kanto/Unova, we could do that Have fun! ^^
  7. v Me finding a player to help me trade evolve Also me helping a player with his trade evolution ^ - But to the suggestion maybe add a "behavior score" to players. - Default is N. - Good is B - Great is A - Suspect is E - Bad is F - Only players with A or B can access the chat meant for evolution trading. - That way the social interaction will always be nice and welcoming. Unlike Global... Where it took me 20 mins trying to make people understand that I know what a TM is, but I just don't know how a "TM??" in the moves list of a Pokemon is obtained. GOD that was annoying. (Then turns out it isn't obtainable even.)
  8. Shuffle. You see if you make each round a “ready” thing, it’ll make it less likely people know what they will face. And even if they do, they would only find out when the game has already started, so they won't counter with specific mons. (You click ready for next round) The shuffle doesn’t start until the previous round is over. (This will make tournaments last the same amount of time, but the down time for faster players will be longer between rounds, which is somewhat fair) Note that the shuffle result won't appear in the tour page until the matches start. (so the time people are given to get ready won't be for scouting) When everyone is ready all players are notified that the shuffle will put them in a match in X amount of time. (So those with big down time between rounds can go do stuff if they want. If necessary, you can make a mini email as well so they are notified on their phone or something, in case they go away from MMO for too long, idk) The semi final matches are hidden to all players until the finalists go against each other. (winners aren’t announced too) Final match plays and the only way any other player knows is one of the participants giving it away. (So if the loser from semi finals is a friend to the winner from the other semi final, this would be the main unfair situation, if the loser does give away what he was up against). These are my initial thoughts. @Munya see if you can work something out of this.
  9. XD I have only one problem, YOU FORGOT SYNCRONOISE! How else will you hit Swamp, Kingdra and Ludicolo! (and not need all these different Hidden powers) Though good humor, thanks for the laugh xD
  10. Ahhh! Well, in that case, that is that and this is this. If they had some sort of a past event together, it can't be helped. Ya some mons are sometimes outclassed indeed, that's why there are tiers, and even though some mons may seem like they are not viable, they can still have a good use here and there in the right team. Also I think the OP was talking about casual games, not necessarily ranked or tour games. It is not always about winning, sometimes it just feels good when you think of something and find a way to make it work. Cheers ^^
  11. When communicating with another human being, the worst thing you could do is outright tarnish what they said. 0- You do all the following steps with a good spirit. 1- You say, ok you have an idea there. 2- You start giving tips on what are the holes in that idea if any. 3- You try to cover these holes if possible. 4- If not possible you give a good reason why it isn't possible. 5- You may give your own ideas afterwards. What the tc person did was: - Deny Golduck completely. (Could have said "it has a niche") - Tarnish the set in the topic. (Could have instead give a better set) - Say the set is useless but in a sneaky way. (Instead of saying it only counters X and no one uses X, he could have also modified the set to work better) - Think in a one dimensional way. (What if the 2nd stab doesn't OHKO the golduck who has a speed advantage now? If he would get OHKO-ed he could have given numbers to support his claim) - Give his own ideas back. (And later on ignored the original topic creator, while if he just wanted to help people, he could have made his own guide about the matter or link to one) The tc's ideas will definitely be met with rejection after the above. And then the OP will get defensive with all the following replies as well, since he is now under pressure and is feeling unpleasant, leading him to reply in a defensive way and hence he seems "snobby".
  12. There are many variables in a battle, so you can't out-right say "Ey, I'll hit and run" or "Ey, I'll just kill the Golduck". 1- You can sac a mon to let the Golduck in, he doesn't have to tank a hit. (Better than getting swept) 2- You can predict a switch, and like with any battle, sometimes it pays off. (Risk reward concept) 3- People get caught off guard when they see a pokemon like "Golduck"; one of my best leads is Rapidash. (Yes, and it works) My own set for my Golduck goes like this. IVs: 31 x 25 31 31 29 EVs: 124 0 0 252 2 132 (OCD and shit) Nature: Modest Item: Choice Scarf Role: Revenge killer specially against weather teams Ability: C9 Moveset: Syncronoise - Ice beam - Surf - Focus blast Take your time and think about it... in "general terms" Sand = Surf; Rain = Sync; Hail = Focus; Sun = Ice - Focus can hit a predicted Ferro swap in for example. - You can get "HP electric 70" which is situationally better than Sync but I'm lazy. - Sync is only better when it comes to pokemons like "Ludicolo" & "Swamp". Am I high ranked on the ladder? No. I just like to think of sets for fun, since it is a game. We should be having fun, not ridiculing each other.
  13. *thinks* This is a very interesting idea, and I like the gimmick, but can I make it a sure crit?! Aha! I can! Liepard with Pay day (Egg move) + Scope lens OR Persian with Assist (Egg move) + Scope lens Moveset: Payday - Assist - x - x A pokemon that learns Focus energy + Delete all its other moves. This suggestion Assist = Focus energy >> Payday always crits = Money, money money money mooooneey! xD Didn't take me too long to find a way to make it optimum XD But I still love this gimmick and I think there should be something like that in the game!
  14. Added particle tab to the summary! as per @Cholito feedback! Made the compression stronger so it'd download faster for low end internet users. Updated the installation guide so no one gets confused. Thanks again man, and I'm glad you like the theme ^^
  15. Umm ya sure I'll add that and upload it right away! Really appreciate the amazing feedback btw! It makes me really happy every time I see this theme appreciated in a comment! You have my thanks!
  16. - Well in that case lucky you xD - Who are you showing off to then, mate? - Oh ya one of them was memorable cause I beat the 1st on the ladder of OU in an UU tourny and I beat the 20th in the next round, other one I got lucky with flinches xD - Ya I know, but you're using them as build ups to lead to the point, while they are completely irrelevant and in-comparable to the subject at hand. It is like saying, "look if vegetables can get expensive, so can apples". - Value decreases in the GTL? Ya that's true. Value decreases as a rare thing to have? Not so much, (Since it'll still be rare, just not ridiculously rare) I have seen many people walk with that crazy Red Gyrados (doesn't make it less impressive), something rare would be like that shiny Volcarona, only saw one. - I never said anything about implementing chaining, I know the post suggests that, but I believe what the person wants mainly is to be able to get a shiny more often, I believe, the method they use to "selectively" decide who can get shinies is unfair, and until proven wrong, my argument stands. - Also if you read the "math" I posted and didn't ignore it, I shouldn't have a bunch of shinies, just one encounter. max two. - I'd like to add that the "independent odds" the admin mentions don't apply in computer science and I'm sure HE knows that, since there is no REAL RNG and everyone in our field knows that, you have to use many RNGs together and get the result that appeared most to maybe hope it is random and not affected by the cached memory. - You have experienced getting paralyzed many times in a row no? Landing a low acc move too often? Getting 7 flinches in a row? Ya that's a faulty RNG implementation and if it is faulty with big numbers like 30% and 80%, how do you think it'd be with 1/27k? (I had 5 para hax in a row 3 times in one run until I restarted my game, the chances of that happening with "independent odds" is 0.002% for each time) - Last but no least. Chaining isn't gonna hurt anyone but the sales of the Gift-Shop, and the prides of ...immature people. xD I'm glad we had a good discussion here, wish it ends on good terms as well, have fun everyone.
  17. 1- Have you encountered any shinies while not "hunting" for one then? Cause I sure haven't. 2- Not really; that's RNG, but is it really RNG? Cause I have high doubts about how it is implemented. 3- Yes, something that you worked for obv would make you feel better. You're missing the point though. 4- You still don't have to work hard for shinies, if you had a high number of encounters as you play through probability like I explained you would and should meet a shiny while you aren't hunting for one. (which goes against the admins' policies it seems) 5 :- - We are not discussing changing a tourny system. (I played a few, got to semi finals twice, nothing special) - We are not discussing changing the coloring system. (It makes sense as it is) - And like we all get a chance to join a tourny and win, and we all have access to buy that cool hat, we should all have the same chance to meet shinies the more mons we encounter generally (and not through hunting). - They just made the system so those who literally play for hours every single day have better chances. - I will not believe it is completely random until I see the code, which they will never share. xD 6- No I don't want to show off anything really, cause showing off means I need others' approval, I don't. xD 7- There is, and it seems to be 1/27k, they are intentionally ignoring "probability" rules to make sure alternatives don't abuse shiny hunting. I would say it is better to deny shinies from being on the GTL tbh and keeping the odds for each player as single player games do. Cause the main problem they have is the "economy" one. So what are shinies for? Showing off? Feeling better? Money grind? Or Just to sell more donation tickets? Feels like a rotten system tbh. Anyway seems like they have a certain mindset about this matter, reasoning won't get anyone anywhere when it comes to this.
  18. 1- As I said, shinies shouldn't be exclusive to grinding in a certain method, if they have a percentage they should appear at any moment, no one has to be a zombie for it. 2- No one said it should be common? I said it should be more accessible, since it seems they have weird restrictions on who can get a shiny. 3- Getting an OT shiny, you can show that off, but it isn't easy to get. Needing to show off is sad though. 4- Most shinies out there now are Unknown OT or bought with "zombies" OT on them, nothing to show off anyway. 5- Again I'm not saying they should be common, I simply said they should be more accessible without obscure conditions for encountering them. 6- You're going off topic, a tournament requires both skill and luck, that's rng and it exists in every game to keep the "gameplay" interesting. 7- Vanity items is for money that can't be grinded in game, unless they are on the GTL. 8- Can people obtain shinies with real money? Cause your comparison makes no sense to me. 9- If you say by using donating tickets and their better ratio, I've used those several times for a long duration each time and ya, no shinies encountered. xD 0- That "powerful" statement... This community can't grow if that's how the "powerful" people in it approach things. Final piece of math.. Shinies should come in the rate 1/8192, right? so probability of NOT encountering one is 8191/8192. Now if you studied probabilities the chance of that happening 20k times in a row is (8191/8192)^20000 = 8.7%. (meaning meeting a shiny next encounter is 91.3% possible) Ok, I could be just unlucky, let's try that with higher numbers like the infamous 30k... = 2.5% to not encounter a shiny. (meaning meeting a shiny next encounter is 97.5% possible) And upon having 40k encounters without a single shiny one. Your chance of getting a shiny should be 99.25% on your next encounter. After that if you do get a shiny your encounter chance should go down to oh did you get it? ding ding ding 0.01% chance that the next one is a shiny. So it'd be still rare, just not as impossible as it may seem to people who play the game without specifically hunting. At that point there is no such thing as "luck wall", just bad implementation.
  19. I don't care much about shinies and I've never encountered one with about 2k hours of gameplay (and that's on my main only) But.. Uhm lemme put some math here real quick I'm gonna ignore ALL my other encounters and focus on my recent EV training I've trained 50 mons with exp share on 4 at a time... So that's 50/4 = 12.5 times I've got them all to 510 EV points.. So that's at best, 26 sweet scents for two stats = 52 hordes encounters = 260 pokemons encountered per time so I've encountered in the past 3 days 3250 pokemons minimum Naturally, like with the 50 comp mons before them, and the 50 before those, I didn't encounter a single shiny. Not once. And I'm amazed how many shinies exist on the GTL tbh, cause I must be unlucky af xD I'd assume ever since I started the game and since I have 6 comp boxes full that I AT LEAST encountered 20k+ pokemons With how many there are on the GTL, one thinks I met one shiny mon at least, but I didn't. Again I really don't care about shinies and to be frank I consider most of them an alternative worse design to the original mon. But after seeing the method of chaining online, I'd say it's fair to make shinies more accessible. They don't have to be minimum 1 mil. and you don't have to use a certain method to meet one. And to answer the last point of "people seeing their past effort being meaningless", this is a game. In real life people lose money just because they decided to change some currency from one to another one day before a big drop happens in the other. People in a game should be happy they have that mon of their dreams and not feel a grudge when others get it. It doesn't decrease its importance and value to you, but your envy would. xD
  20. ok, so let's discuss the limitations 1- I think you should be allowed a max of another team only if this is to be implemented. 2- The 2nd team may be used ONLY and STRICTLY for battle against other players. (ex. You can't set one of them as a follower nor order any of them to use an out of battle move like Fly, Sweet Scent or Dig) When you're asked for a battle you have a check box "Battle with Team B" that you can check before accepting. 3- You should only have access to this ticket in a region where you're done with the story and post game quests. (And maybe make a ticket linked to the region it is bought at?) 4- Instead of a team like suggested it could be a "2nd bag" item meant only to hold these extra mons which eases implementation. But if you just leave it open without defined restrictions, this could and would be chaotic. My initial thought for implementation: Make one of the two teams "active" and when promoted to battle the active one goes in. (Decorative design pattern makes this do-able) The 2nd team doesn't have access to the extra functions the main team has. (Extension with restrictions) Add option in PC "move to Team B".
  21. Since apparently UU and NU matchmakings do work but need enough people for matches to be found, and since I know a lot of people that would love to queue for one of the two rather than OU. my suggestion is: 1- A first win of the day bonus reward: Your first win of the day on each tier grants you extra 500 BP. 2- Revival bonus: Playing 15 UU or NU games without forfeiting more than 2 games grants extra 1500 BP. (This can be easily abused actually, so I'm not sure how to balance it) 3- A star indicator next to the tier in the PvP windows a green empty star showing that you didn't get your first win of the day. a blue star showing that you didn't get your revival bonus of the day. Something like this will split the population a bit and at the same time keep people engaged in different tiers. Note: I thought of several things to handle the "dead" hours, but in my mind it'd be redundant to implement any of them. If you have an idea to handle those, do share!
  22. If this is not implemented, it means they want GTL sniping to stay. Cause that's the only, ONLY, thing that would be affected. I've almost made the "forgot extra 0" mistake once or twice but I've been careful about it knowing there is no confirmation button. It is almost as if it is made this way on purpose to trip people. Like a gimmick of some sort? It'd be silly to ignore this suggestion otherwise.
  23. Or make a ticket for less than a week.. the week one is basically 500 RP ya? if you make a "half day" ticket for 50~100 RP it can be good so those who don't no life can make some use of it ...and 0.5~1$ for half a day seems pretty fair considering you pay 5$ for a week or 150 RP for a day I know that's not how sale science works.. and I know the main thing they fear is people converting to these "pay only when you use it" methods from the "pay big chunk at once and use it as you please" ones... cause they know in the long run the down time for most players is too high and anything less than 7 days will -in the long run- yield less money from the player-base.
  24. Slightly higher BP rewards for UU ..650 normal and 2300 ranked and even higher for NU ..750 normal and 2600 ranked at least initially until people realize the matches there are faster and actually fun and interesting, then tune it down and balance things out so people can't abuse the extra reward. which will invoke more strats and new meta and then the meta will always be moving and there will be "Border line pokemons" for lower ranks just like the "Ubers" tier which acts as a BL for OU. and maybe even more tiers can be created. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Or a "First win of the day" reward for each tier... something along those lines
  25. I attempted it with a friend, same power of teams, same every thing.. waited whole 115 seconds and nothing... I know I can just duel my friend but that's not the point, and if it really works and no one queues, can we promote it a bit? Cause the meta of OU is dull, all you need is fire and fighting mons with good coverage and then pray to rng... and anything else will be walled regardless cause all the things that counter being walled efficiently does not exist in this game like "Knock off" (I mean.. base 40 when enemy has item? seriously?) and "Team preview".. Every thing else can be easily anticipated.
