  1. ...I like the idea...
  2. Nobody's saying that. The whole point of the system is to distribute 1st-3rd generation pokemon across PokeMMO equally for all players. Though, if it does get out of hand it can become pay2win. It's a delicate process. This whole thread is here to discuss various aspects of this system and further potential. If you have an idea on how to avoid pay2win characteristics and tendencies, I encourage you to share.
  3. How is it an easy button? Do you go into Pokemon Dream World and get handed Pokemon that are lv100, fully EV-trained, shiny, and with a good nature? No. They're no better than wild pokemon. Thanks for that contribution to the debate. Truly, your words are rife with wisdom.
  4. I agree'd up to here. I use all of the flutes because some status conditions require fullheal or the respective berry to heal them. The flutes allow for even more methods of healing the hidden status effects. I say they stay.
  5. Dang. I didn't realize getting a lv1 zigzagoon made people beasts. The pokemon don't come out as super powerful, prepare-your-anus, EV-trained monsters. They're simple pokemon whose power is in relation to wild pokemon or recently hatched nublets. Think of it more like the Pokemon Dream World. That's the closest comparison I can make. It won't hinder gameplay and it will also make the game more interesting. We already trade exclusive-to-the-trainer Pokemon in the real world. Nothing will change for PokeMMO. How does it ruin the story mode of the game, exactly? I don't really think the game cares about what Pokemon you use, as long as you somehow beat the gymleaders. Does Pokemon Dream World ruin the story mode of Pokemon Black and White? No. This won't do anything except expand the Pokemon inventory amongst trainers.
  6. I would think it would be random in a similar manner to the Pokemon Dream World. So yeah...probably like wild pokemon. Able to get a crap load of bidoof.
  7. This is an idea to expand PokeMMO without drastic programming made to the client. It is based upon the daily goods that MMO private servers use to give extra incentive for players to play and adjust game economy. This may be messy as i'm still brainstorming and trying to make this as realistic as possible. Please bear with me. In all seriousness, please feel free to post your thoughts on this system. Daily Pokemon Retrieval System (DPRS) Description: A system used to obtain Pokemon via the PokeMMO website by way of daily random selection. Method: The user will log into the PokeMMO website with thier client account, enter the DPRS webpage, and simply click a button to recieve a random pokemon ranging from generation 1-3. The server will send said random pokemon to the user's client account. The user will then log into the PokeMMO client and retrieve the Pokemon in a similar manner to mystery gift or another suggested method. Purposes: expand pokemon trade obtain pokemon without additional regions make game more balanced make game more exciting for players ability to recieve 1st evolution (baby) pokemon Conflicts: users may create more than one account and abuse system Notes: retrievable pokemon cannot be legendary, 1st gen starter, fossils, eevee daily retrieval rate can be adjusted to once a day, a week, or a month all pokemon are 1st evolution due to lack of daycare (??) tradable pokemon recieved from DPRS can be trade locked to an extent in similar manner to current unique pokemon lock (to combat mass account creation??) pokemon recieved have random nature and IVs donation incentives can be established exclusively for DPRS raise rate of specific generation (??): I am especially open for discussion on these notes In terms of Pokemon creation, it is possible to create .PKM files for GBA pokemon through this program, Enciclopedia Pokemon. I'm not sure how this can be incorporated into this system, as im no programmer, but it does provide a method for making custom GBA pokemon and is a good resource.
