However, in my case, there are times where even with GTL, I couldn't find suitable breeders (eg specific egg moves and IVs) As for story part, I feel that more newbies face problems during first 3 gyms and some even struggles to beat Elite Four. GTL provides a platform for players to buy -berries (EV reducing berries) when they do not plant or have access to the farm (only Hoenn and Unova can plant berries) -berry products- pp up and etc -TMs, evolutionary stones- could be cheaper than NPC -and also sell when u are offline We know all these can be done without GTL, but I do not wish to go back to days where u have to be actively spamming trade channel, and be available for trade(says on Gym run) to make a small profit. Using GTL is not a must, it's a sweet add-on feature which comes in handy

Pickup is based on loot table of the area you are in. As for your fossil question, they are rare pick-up items in certain (if not all) caves. More people (I believed) steal fossils from rock smash pokemon instead

Imo this is due to profitability of stealing from clamperl after Frisk update. The same thing happened to berries years ago. Now I have chose to learn how to strive in this economy

Did you change your device? these are not shared across device. It could be an update overwrites it (not often) I think this is to prevent you being stuck in gym if u accidentally log off Try not to change channel inside a gym next time

If we are going to compare starter, I think we should exclude egg moves for comparison purpose and compare against other 2 starter(or any other u would get in region during storyline) in the same region. For example, Unova always gives u one of trio monkey, ur starter is one of the three types. If u desperately need the third typing, u can get it in Pinwheel forest

Price? Shiny karp is like less than 3m which is almost similar to any other shiny breeder (except Tentas and previous Garbodor)
