  1. A more constructive response would have been "the amount of effort that it would take to make these changes is not worth the small change that it would create for the game".

    But thats just me.

Then why did you suggest this if that's how you feel?

  2. IPB, the software this forum is run on, would require all users to be part of a "moderation" group to be able to have any control over the forum, or certain aspects of it. It sounds like too much of a hassle, when someone can just "report" the OP, and ask for it to be locked.

This is true, I mean if we could all do this, what point would there be to even have mods?

    derp

  3. How about no?

Why don't you give an explanation as to why you say no?

I don't even like the idea of them getting deleted, I like the idea of them being able to lock our own threads.

The faith you have in humanity is astounding. Haha. I say let the mods decide.

But locking your own thread should be a no-brainer.

It's not that I have a lack of humanity (not saying you said I do), but it's the fact that I know some 12 yr old wannabe troll is gonna waltz up in here and start uguuin' around.

  4. I'm not saying it wouldn't :)

I'm just saying it would probably be infrequent, and if anyone did anything stupid, it'd be easy enough for a mod to just delete the thread and temporarily ban repeat offenders. It would probably happen infrequently, meaning far less work for the mods than having to comb the forums and lock almost every thread that's come to its end.

But if it did happen, this power given to the members of the forum to reduce trouble/hassle the mods go through, would just in turn cause more. Them having to track down repeat offenders, ban them, infract them (what ever they do), check off threads as unmovable. Seems to me like a lot more of a loss than a gain.

  5. Then whatever action the moderator takes should be, as mentioned earlier in the topic, the final say. Perhaps a tickbox option from a moderator on that topic to say "No further moderation from OP" or something to that effect. Basically if a Mod chooses it, they can strip the "power" away from the OP and they could then only see it as if they were a regular poster.

I can't see anyone taking the trouble to move a thread all over the place. And if they did, it'd be easy enough to just grab it and check that option that I described above.

I honestly don't see how having control of your own topic could result in trollface chaos. Most forums I've visited have moderator privileges for your own topics. It's never been a problem, ever.

Just because you've never seen it happen, doesn't mean it's gonna happen. People go through a lot of trouble just to piss ppl off, lol. Which is why the idea of locking a thread in a certain section is a good thing. Just realized you suggested that.

  6. Locking threads, I have no problem with.

Power over their own threads? I don't see the problem. In what way could this power be abused? It simply saves the Mods' time.

    I support.

Moving them on the other hand may get abused. I can see people wanting to be annoying moving their threads from section to section, unless they're limited to 1 move per thread, that would be okay.

I also would like dislikes to be implemented, that way if trolls/flamers/spammers get enough dislikes on a post in a thread, OP can delete that post.

Maybe put a timer on locking threads? Like, "OP cannot lock a thread after 'x' amount of time."

(Dislikes should not be recorded, or result in any sort of ban or infractions towards members, they should simply be used my OP to keep there threads free of unnecessary nonsense.)

  7. 500$ for 500 walks so every additional step should be 1$. And extra safari balls should be the same price as a regular pokeball.

Why would we have to pay more for the Safari Balls we've always gotten for free ever since Red & Blue has come out?

  8. Or just drain $1 for every tile you walk. The money/steps you save by not having to re-enter the area you were farming will be somewhat made up for by the ones you require to walk out with.

That sounds like a horrible idea.

  9. It can still work because you know, you can have multiple channels selected. I'm usually on "channel" and "whisper", sometimes "global" and "trade", but it'd definitely be possible to be on "channel", "friends" and "whisper". Friends chat would then be in the higlighted color such as red.

This is where I don't agree. Because, the highlighting system provides all kinds of cool things. What if you want to highlight someone who isn't in your friends? What if you want to highlight only one person from your friends' list such as your brother or girlfriend, and not everyone else?

I think the highlighting system is a great idea.

But of course, the friends and party chat is an awesome idea because it allows to send messages to a customizeable group. So you don't have to talk to everyone on the channel, and you don't have to send the same message to 4 different people.

So in fact. We need both. Highlighting and friends chat.

EDIT: That's fine TastyPig. It's not exactly the same. Happens to me all the time also-

The highlighting system seems a bit redundant. I'm not saying it's not a good idea, I just only see it helping a small amount of the community. Whereas system could do just as good as the highlighting system, instead of highlighting people, add them to party. And, you can have party chat open as well as any other chat and the party chat would be I dunno, pink while channel chat is orange, global blue, etc, etc.

You at least see what I'm saying right?

    --

I guess a party system would be a little bit of the came thing as a highlighting system. Unless the names you highlight never unhighlight unless prompted to.

  10. What is this, I don't even.

LOL, I know you told him to post it in the Multimedia section, but I figure that is just for screenshots/videos of people playing the game and having fun/etc and art of the game/customization. Whereas Guide Tavern is for guides to PokeMMO and other Pokemon related things. i.e. Walkthroughs, Breeding guides, EV training guides, guides to natures/proper usage of them, etc whether they're videos or text.

  11. Idea 1: How about we still keep the Safari Balls, but instead of thinking of it as $500 to get into the Safari Zone, why don't we think of it as $1 per step considering you only get 500 steps per Safari zone visit as of now. We have the NPC ask us how many steps we would like to buy, say I wanted to buy 5000, then when I enter 5000 it shows me the value of my purchase and I click buy to get in and it gives me that amount of steps.

Idea 2: Either that or instead of it asking for $500 to get in, it could give us a menu of, "$500 for 500 steps, $1,000 for 1,000 steps, or $1,500 for 1,500 steps?"

The second one I think would be a good feature.

Idea 3: Another idea would to be when your amount of steps is up, instead of it warping you back to the entrance, it could show a message saying, " *Ding ding! Your time is up, would you like to buy more time?" with a yes/no thing. No = warp back to entrance, Yes = 500 more steps and you can carry on w/ what it is you were doing.

    I dunno, just some ideas.

  12. When I switch my player in game I have to redistribute the hot keys, (The icon of the item stays even when you change your character who doesn't have the item)

This isn't that big of a deal, if it even is one at all (I have no trouble switching around my hotkeys when I need to). I'm quite sure they will fix this eventually, but if not, who cares?

  13. So, kinda like a Rebirthing system is most private servers? Would we keep a tab on the number of times we have done this?

    --

I think instead of anytime during the character select screen, this option should only be available to those who have completely the story-mode, i.e. the elite 4.

How about instead of it being a character selection screen option, it can be an in game command like /reset or something, and only those who have beaten the elite 4 can access this.

I already know that the elite 4 has yet to be implemented so ya, inb4 that.
