  1. If the new method isn't straight up Pokeyen, then it will be useless.
  2. The fact that I took advantage of a 3 month old listing and the fact that you could only find a shiny Beautifly should speak for itself.
  3. I had the idea last week to breed a Phaphy because I thought it would be cool, and I took advantage of a 3 month GTL listing. No amount of "being attentive" 3 months ago would of helped me, considering that I literally returned to the game last month.
  4. Has there been any talk of breeding to where the braces/everstones/egg moves don't pass down but the parents don't get consumed? Just a whole lot more random breeding, maybe associated with a cost too depending on how rare the Pokemon is you're trying to breed.
  5. But now as a person who checks into the GTL just to buy stuff, I have a much more limited supply of items and Pokemon to purchase from. I only get to see what was posted within the past 10 days, when honestly a 2-3 month Pokemon or item that has been up for that long has been useful for me to buy before. I will no longer be able to make some of these purchases now. So, goodbye extremely specific IV'd, gendered, or natured Pokemon that have been up for a while. I get the whole trying to clear up GTL bloat situation, but ten days is extremely small for a post to be up. Not to mention that this acts as a HUGE money sink for the people in this thread who need months just to sell stuff on the GTL. And all because of an arbitrary time limit that the developers thought was a good idea? Honestly if the GTL is sticking to the ten day limit, then fees for listing your Pokemon/items either need to be massively reduced or removed.
  6. I feel like honestly the best trade off here would be making the round 1 for Elite 4/Gym leaders closer to pretty much the vanilla game, then keeping all rematches hard and competitive. This is pretty much how it was for Firered and Hoenn before the patches. I don't get why people are somehow justifying the new difficulty spike because our overlords created it.
  7. People are actually referring to healing items as pointless things. Are you serious? They're a staple item used in the Pokemon series.
  8. Nobody is also going to mention that these changes don't allow you to use sleeper picks on your team. I desperately wanted to run a Dunsparce on my team for gen 5, but seeing how the Elite 4 and gyms were artificially made harder for no apparent reason, I'm kind of glad I didn't now. The game is already made harder as it is with AI changes. I don't understand why the first time you challenge the Elite 4 can't just be kept as it is, and leave the challenging parts for rematches. This seems like a fair trade off for both casuals and those interested in competitive for the game. This is pretty much how it was before the update with other regions.
  9. I get it that the MMO has to deviate from the main games to try and be harder, but why should the Elite 4 round 1 battles be this much considerably tougher? People would have a sound argument if they said we had to use certain comps to beat it for the rematches (which should be considerably harder, don't get me wrong), but having them be this much more difficult just seems unfriendly to casuals who just want to play through the game once. I'm not sure about Hoenn either, but I'm running through the game on another account in Kanto and I have a well balanced team, yet after the update they decided to make their rematch teams their first teams (For example, Bruno is supposed to just have an Onix for the first try of the Elite 4, he will now always have a Steelix) Even for some people who are just scrapping by, when it comes to maybe pouring some money into making their Pokemon better, it's laughable at how expensive healing items were before the patch, and how it was decided that some of them needed a nerf.
  10. I don't know what is the mentality that the first run of the Elite 4 should be super challenging (At least to the extent it is now). The 1st round should be pretty much as close to the vanilla teams in B/W. By the time you're doing rematches is where things should get challenging. If this is how the elite 4 is, then I'm just going to assume my girlfriend who's a complete casual who's playing alongside with me will never beat the game.
  11. The price of healing items should be brought down a bit. It's ridiculous that I have to get anxiety to use a healing item in a battle just because I may experience a net loss by the end of the battle.
  12. Even as someone who strictly just bought from the GTS, I don't understand why the admins are implimenting a 10 day rule. If anything when it comes to buying Pokemon, it leaves me with less options to buy from, and prices become less competitive.
  13. Why does the Kanto elite 4 have access to Johto Pokemon for the first time you battle them now if you as a player can't even get them? I did one Elite 4 attempt a day before the patch, lost it and figured I could come back the next day, and now the entire Elite 4 round 1 has a harder team. This would make a whole lot more sense if their teams were only touched for rematches. As of right now my girlfriend has pretty much quit completing Kanto because the Elite 4 literally got that much harder overnight.
  14. This doesn't pertain too much to the patch, but is anyone going to acknowledge the elephant in the room that it sometimes costs significantly more in healing items to participate in battles like the Elite 4? I already knew prepatch I couldn't use healing items against the Ladies/Gamblers even with the amount of money they paid out, because the healing items are honestly super expensive. If part of the new way to profit is to go on and challenge the elite 4 and gym leader battles, I'm laughing personally on the cost of using healing items for these battles.
  15. Are you not hearing of people who were playing through Kanto/Hoenn on characters that haven't gotten certain gym badges that no longer can use certain members of their team now?
  16. Are you even reading the changes to this? It can cause you to not even be able to use your team.
  17. You know what I mean, lucky egg.
  18. As someone who grinds a tiny bit and breeds here and there, the tiny egg was never going to be obtained by me anytime soon.
  19. It made no mention of round 1 battles whatsoever, and I thought this was was only going to apply to rematch battles. I'm currently trying to make my way through the Elite 4 and the difficulty is honestly pretty stupid already and not to mention time consuming now due to the lack of money other NPC's are giving to actually get healing items to go through it now, along with the fact that the 3D animations make the battles drag more.
  20. I'm currently running through on account for Kanto that has Bruno having a Steelix instead of an Onix while including a Hitmontop. Was the Elite 4 buffed for round 1? If so, it seems unnecessarily difficult to fight through now.
  21. Honestly this change should of only been made for traded Pokemon. Having your own OT Pokemon disobey you is stupid.
  22. Hi there, I played about a hot minute of the gen 5 PTS to notice that at least one shop, there was a new hat. I didn't have the time to play into other towns, but did anyone keep note of what new cosmetic items there were?
  23. Damn, that's really nice. I know it's always constantly on my mind currently in the game to where I'm thinking "Damn this Flareon could be so much better if it could learn Fire Fang" or whatever the move might be. Is there a plan to go back and update certain Gym Leaders/Elite 4/Trainers in general for gen 3? I don't know if that's a question you don't necessarily want to answer yet, but I'm thinking of stuff like Gary's Alakazam having access to a move like focus blast or completely adding gen 4+5 Pokemon to their teams for rematches.
  24. Is Firered/Emerald experiencing some sort of an update with this new gen 5 engine being added? Like for example, Lucario being usable in Kanto, or the move Stealth rocks being learned by a Pokemon on Emerald.
