STRINGS

(Recommended. It allows you to skip healing text, gym leader text and moves text.)

BAGLESS GYM ROUTE

(Recommended for players new to the strategy. Doesn't require any items to clear most gyms, but is heavily reliant on highrolls, critical hits and RNG in general. Averages 31 gyms.

BAG USE GYM ROUTE

(Involves the use of bags to make gyms more consistent to get through. Averages 33 gyms.)

RED/JOHTO E4 START VARIATION

(The best way to start a gym run. A variation for people who wish to start at the Elite 4 or Red. Averages 31 gyms)

ROCKCHOMP VARIATION

(The old version of the strategy with Wide Lens Garchomp with Stealth Rock and Rock Slide. Proceed with caution. Averages 32 gyms. Disclaimer: Requires an insane RNG, at best efficient run and good ping to reach.)

ITEM SWAP VARIATION

(A version that includes something that contradicts the whole point of the other strategies, but works. 35 gyms in total. Same disclaimer as said in the variation above.)

Damage Calculator

(If you wish to calculate damage inputs for Weezing's Explosion, etc.)

Charm Calculator

(If you wish to calculate the amount of money you can get in one gym/E4 run)

TEAM COMP:

Blastoise IVs: <26 HP / <26 Def / 31 SpA / 31 Spe

Typhlosion IVs: 31 SpA / 31 Spe

Weezing IVs: High HP / 31 Atk / High SpD / 31 Spe

Togekiss IVs: 31 SpA / 31 Spe

Garchomp IVs: <9 HP / 31 Atk / <9 Def / 31 Spe

Vanilluxe IVs: Decent HP / 31 SpA / Decent SpDef / 31 Spe

Team Explanation:

PPMAX Eruption, Hyper Voice, Water Spout and Vanilluxe’s Blizzard

Blastoise’s IVs are designed to be KOed from Band Explosion from Weezing. You can use a Modest Blastoise but their HP and Def IVs must be significantly lower

Garchomp’s IVs and Nature is designed to be KOed from Band Explosion from Weezing. Its maximum speed is designed to underspeed Typhlosion by 1 point for Petalburg and Saffron.

You can alternatively use Choice Band on Garchomp instead of Soft Sand to ensure a higher chance to 3-turn all variations in Goldenrod and Saffron, but you need to use X.SpAtk for Canalave’s Golem lead or skip it.

Weezing’s defensive IVs are recommended to be as high as possible to survive non-crit Earth Power from Driftveil’s Flygon

FAQ:

Q: Why are the other gyms left out?

  • A: A list is explained here.

  • Saffron: The gym right now is too far to reach, and it costs a heinous amount of time to walk through it.

  • Fuschia: Tentacruel lead makes it difficult for the strategy to make a knack in a gym full of Red Cards. Not to mention Scarf Zoroark and Ditto being a hindrance.

  • Ecruteak: It used to be a part of the old route but unfortunately, because of how the new AI works, it becomes much more reliant to RNG, especially a gym full of Water and Fire immunities and Cursed Body. On top of that, it's the reason why the old strategy is not very consistent at all.

  • Mossdeep: Scarf Lucario lead, abundance of Levitate mons, Thick Fat and Slowkings are a major problem. Ground-moves strives here, if not for Levitate. On top of that, resistance to Hyper Voice and Blizzard becomes a major issue. Excadrill strives in this gym, maybe in the future when a 2-team variant appears.

  • Heartrome: Same as Ecruteak.

  • Snowpoint: Scarf Froslass, Air Balloon Flash Fire Heatran, Scarf Medicham, ün ün ün,  Water Absorb, abundance of sash and the list goes on. This puts every member in the team important to every solve, with the exception of Vanilluxe, whom is a hindrance because it cannot outspeed Scarf Froslass and could only KO it on a high-roll crit HP Rock. Candice gym get any worse?

  • Icirrus: BRIGHT POWDERS. EVERYWHERE.

Massive credits to Rainer and Xanarchy for their respective guides I am inspired to do so. Massive acknowledgements to Mnoverick, the author for the strategy for making this guide possible.

The guide is still at work in progress and is still not as the final state as Gym Teleporters have been recently added. Please be alert for any potential changes.
