ThinkNice
Seeing this I came up with an idea: Updated IV inheritance mechanics: We now pass 3 random stats from parents in Gen 4 fashion. The remaining 3 stats are now decided in a pseudo-random fashion, limited by the average of the parents' IVs in that stat. My suggestion has to do with the bolded part. So my suggestion is: if two parents have the same IV in a stat make it so that they get some kind of bonus in the psuedo-random roll. For example: Male Koffing: 25/23/28/16/31/31 Female Koffing: 27/24/27/16/31/15 Now let's just say the first 3 rolls were: HP, SpA and Speed. So now for the last 3 rolls it will do this: Atk: (24+23)/2 = 23,5 -> 23, 0-23 Def: 0-27 SpD: 0-31 But the special defense IVs are both the same so my suggestion would be to give a little bonus for having that, so changing the rolls to 6-31 or something, so giving slightly better odds of getting a higher IV. Could be some sort of table like this:
<15 same IV bonus does not apply. 15-19: 3-15/16/17/18/19/20 20-24: 4-20/21/22/23/24 25-30: 5-25/26/27/28/29/30 31: 6-31
Is it clear now =$ Pros: - Adds an interesting mechanic - Encourages people to look for better 'couples' - Rewards use of similair parents Cons: - May make it to easy to get high IV'd pokési in the long run Link to comment
Darkshade
That is how the previous IV mechanics worked, you were given bonuses which were dependant on how close your IVs were to each other. I think given the new method, it would be a little too rewarding.. Link to comment
TaintedKnives
Am I correct in assuming that Natures no longer affect IV inheritance? Link to comment
