1. Came back to see if the game changed after all this Pokemon Go hype and it did not. Not even bitter, I got shinies on this game in its early days. I only left after the shiny change ratio "revamp" due to the lack of trust between admins. Not willing to shiny farm when the shiny rate could be changed to 0 at any given moment and no one would probably notice it. The sad thing is this seems to be in the same exact place stuck in limbo as when I left over a year ago.
2. Trade-able shinies were one of the dumbest things added to this game. Having it implemented is practically just asking for real world trading and botting. If shinies weren't trade-able they would actually be special even at a 1/8,000 rate. Owning a shiny right now doesn't mean much since most people don't check the OT and a lot of them are just bought from people. I quit over a year ago because of this impossible shiny rate crap. There's no point in playing if admins are going to dangle "secret" ratio's and algorithms for catching shinies behind closed doors. Could be 1/20,000, 1/40,000, 1/100,000, donator only, etc. There's no point in wasting time on it after you beat the game since the only way to know is to see the code yourself or waste thousands of hours testing your own theories.
3. Tbh I rather have some type of party system for battles before legendaries. This game lacks the ability to play with other people as a team. They should implement dungeons where you can x2-x3 Pokemon battle with your friends against multiple Pokemon level 60-100 for a chance at loot, that would be amazing. Possibly have different level caves based on the current Pokemon in your party. Possibly add legendaries in these dungeons at a very rare encounter rate, but not as rare as shinies. Possibly 1/12,000
4. I was factoring in the 1% encounter rate + catch rate of Smeargle (Not to mention all the times you're going to trash Smeargle's because of bad IV's). Please don't flame my thread. Not all of us have a level 100 Smeargle. That's like saying "It's easy to buy a shiny all you need is 2m". This is a guide for the general public. I mean just to get a taste of how well this method works. I've been doing it on my alt. and my highest Pokemon is my starter Blastoise at level 73. My Marowak is only level 50 and my sleeper Pokemon is Gastly at level 24. I would never be able to do this in the back of the cave vs level's 60's if I had a level 50 Smeargle and no Ditto Dummy. It's really a flawless method for catching Ditto's at lower levels. The great thing is even between Ditto fights my low levels are still getting a ton of exp because of Exp Share.
5. I don't know Hoenn. This is a guide for Kanto. Yes, that works too. I only said Marowak because they're easier to capture.
6. This is a guide to farming Ditto's easily. Ditto is one of the most unique Pokemon in the game as it can transform into their enemies Pokemon. The other use for Ditto is for breeding, which is extremely useful. You can also get into the Ditto trade market and sell Ditto's you catch. Requirements: Must have at least gotten to the Elite 4. (You can catch them before this, but a lot of stuff will be easier in this guide.) A little bit of cash to create your Ditto Dummy. A level 70+ main Pokemon (Cerulean Cave) Surf HM (Cerulean Cave) Creating a Ditto Dummy: The idea behind this is to create the most useless Pokemon as far as Moveset. I'm sure there's many Pokemon you can do this with, but the best I've found that's pretty common is Abra+ Another thing to note is you don't want a Pokemon like Kakuna because if they "struggle" it hurts you. First you want to get an Abra or higher evolution that isn't worth anything as far as IV's/Nature. They can be found pretty easily around Route 25. Mean Look helps capture them. Now you want to change the Moveset to this: 1. Attract Always get attract since Ditto is gender-less it will fail 100% of the time. Location: Celadon Department Store 2. Sunny Day This is a good pick since we will be using Marowak this won't affect us at all. Location: Three Isle / Cinnabar Island 3. Rain Dance Another great pick since it can be used multiple times and doesn't affect Marowak. Location: Two Isle 4. Calm Mind This increases your Sp. Def & Sp. Attack, but since False Swipe is a normal move this doesn't matter. Level 33 learned move. Don't level up if you don't have this yet, there are other options below. 5. Light Screen This increases Sp. Def, since False Swipe is a normal move this doesn't matter. Locations: Celadon Department Store/Vermillion 6. HM Flash This decreases the accuracy of the enemy. This is a last resort move as this is the only move that is actually negative. Location: Prof. Aide at least 10 Pokemon caught. Exit of Diglett Cave south of Route 2. Getting the ability to lower health to 1 HP. Next you want to get a Pokemon to False Swipe. False Swipe is a move that will damage the enemy down to 1 HP without killing them. Smeargle can make enemies Sleep and False Swipe, but he has a low encounter rate at the Altering Cave and IV's can be a pain. Marowaks can be found easy for just False Swipe: First you want to fly to the Elite 4 building and then go south. Enter the cave at the bottom and just start looking for Marowak's to capture by the exit. Generally you want a Marowak with good Attack and Speed. I try to get that one that has around 27+ Attack and 25+ Speed. If the Marowak you capture doesn't have False Swipe you'll have to make it relearn it at the move tutor. Have a Pokemon that can make enemies sleep. You want to make sure you have a good Pokemon with a Sleep move if you aren't using a Smeargle. Gengar with hypnosis is really good since he's so fast. Gastly's can be found easily in Lavender Town Tower. Supplies: Plenty of Pokeballs Your Ditto Dummy A Pokemon that can False Swipe A Pokemon that can make enemies sleep Exp Share is extremely useful Some Max Repels An Escape Rope (Cerulean Cave) A level 70+ Pokemon (Cerulean Cave) A Pokemon with Surf HM (Cerulean Cave) Ditto Locations: Route 13 - Encounter rate: 5% Route 14 - Encounter rate: 15% (The little patch just south of the bird maze in the trees.) Route 15 - Encounter rate: 5% Cinnabar Mansion Basement - Encounter rate: 10% (I would go over how to get to the basement, but there's no point since Route 14 is easier to get to and has a higher rate.) Cerulean Cave - Encounter rate: 25% This is by far the best method if you beat the game. You have to have all islands unlocked and did the sapphire and ruby gems. To get to the Cerulean Cave Ditto room with the highest encounter rate you will want to use a Max Repel and use Surf until you get here:

How to set up your party and catch Ditto: The first thing you're going to want is your highest level Pokemon in the front of your party. I encourage killing all other Pokemon instead of escaping since Exp Share can give a lot of Exp, especially in Cerulean Cave. Once you encounter a Ditto in battle switch to your Abra. The Ditto will transform into him and then you can switch to your Marowak. If your Marowak is only around level 50 or so and the Ditto is like level 67 you can do stronger attacks before doing False Swipe. Once the Ditto is down to 1 HP switch to your Pokemon with sleep. Make the Ditto sleep and keep throwing Pokeballs at it until you catch it. Congrats you are now a Ditto hunting master!
7. The repel trick doesn't work for Safari Zone anymore. This guide is out of date. I also agreed with Mornedil that Ball-ball is better in general if the OP's statistics are correct: 1. The Bait-ball combo uses A LOT more turns. Meaning although the Chansey has a much lower chance of fleeing it still has more chances to flee. This also means you can encounter more Chansey's per hour using Ball-ball. 2. Ball-ball has a 100% rate of a chance at catching a Chansey on 1st Ball vs Bait-Ball has a 0% chance (Yes, it's highly unlikely to catch on 1st try, but I've done it multiple times before). 3. You have a better probability of landing x2 Ball-ball combos vs x2 Bait-ball. This is a very important factor. Since Ball-ball is only a 2 turn combo at a 55% success rate of Chansey not fleeing and Bait-ball is a 7 turn combo at a 50% success rate of Chansey not fleeing, you have a MUCH higher chance of landing Ball-ball at least 2 times vs Bait-ball, which would increase your catch rate to 14.58%. 4. Ball-ball saves time AND balls. One of the main problems I have with Bait-ball is just how many resources it uses. It's not uncommon to get into Bait-ball battles and use over 15 Safari balls on 1 Chansey. Since you only get 30 balls this means you can only catch 1 Chansey per trip a lot of times. It also takes more than double the time of Ball-ball a lot of times for only a .97% difference. 5. The small 0.97% difference between Bait-ball and Ball-ball isn't noticeable. It really isn't and to be honest Ball-ball is more effective early on for RNG, just like Mornedil's simulation. To notice any difference you would have to encounter THOUSANDS of pokemon and even then with RNG there's a good chance Ball-ball could still gain you more. The early RNG of Ball-ball should net more Chansey's early on simply because there's no lost opportunity for catching Chansey's vs a 0% chance of catching a Chansey on first turn, every bait & spending more than 2x more turns. You only really start to see the difference and see Bait-ball take over statistically after thousands of encounters normally. 6. The "placebo" effect. The reason people like using Bait-ball isn't for the .97% "advantage", which like I said isn't anything when you aren't encountering thousands and thousands of Pokemon. It's the feeling of hope of doing some type of secret combo. Most people don't keep track of losses most of the time so even if 15 Chansey's flee'd from them and they caught one they say: "Wow! This Bait-ball combo really works!". It's no different than a gambler using the Martingale system of betting. The only difference is technically Bait-ball does have an slight advantage statistically, but it's just not efficiently and realistically better than Ball-ball for under 30k encounters or so.
8. Pay to win is just a general term I use to describe any type of currency where a currency is needed in order at a chance of winning (Simulated economies aren't much different from the real world anyways.). Any way you cut if you can't get the IV's needed you aren't going to get far. I doubt anyone broke has ever won a tournament so I don't how that isn't Pay to Win.
9. You need the right Pokemon comp, and moves also. I didn't say that because I thought it was pretty obvious. You can't win just by being rich, you do have to have the brains. The doesn't mean tournaments aren't Pay to Win though.
10. Psh I could never do a tournament right now since I been gone so long, but I used to go to them all. I can tell you I know economics though.
11. 1. I play PokeMmo to train my Pokemon, catch Pokemon and socialize. You can't socialize on a GBA. 2. Money does equal skill if you have basic knowledge of comp. play. I know exactly what my team would be if I wanted to spend millions on training a team for a tourney. 3. Yes, I'm totally new. Just look at my sig and account creation. I quit about 2 years ago and never regret it. 4. Lol someone has money and it's not the people losing in tourneys. Cancer Shinies would also be 500k if people really didn't have money. I think what you mean is YOU don't have money. 5. I never said Pay day was too grindy. I meant its just one of the ways to keep a player doing something vs just adding a cash reward after every battle. It causes the value of cash to inflate because people are grinding it night and day meaning unless you use an alt. method like Vael said it's only going to get worse and you'll be Pay daying more than anything else. Why is it bad? Because it causes you to have to use a Pokemon that you probably will get 0 exp from since it's lvl 100 for over an hour vs just adding a general cash reward after every battle with ANY Pokemon.
12. Maybe you should realize that everyone doing tournaments is equally dealing with the economy. It's obvious that the more money/shinies/comps you have, the better your chances of winning a tournament. Just look at UMadBrah, he won many tournaments and got banned for real world trading. It's not about being good, it's about Paying to Win. In this case I'm not talking about real world money, but Pokemon money. There a ton of broken Pokemon/Move combos you can still do in tourneys and if you have the right team with perfect IV's it's GG. I can't believe you guys are even whining about the cost of tourneys. Maybe you should become the richest person in Pokemmo before bringing this up. I was never stupid enough to even waste my time with tourneys because I knew there were a lot of richer people than me that would invest more money into training the perfect IV team.

SHINY RATE

The shiny rate has been nerfed so low it's not worth trying for them. It's funny you mention this year you haven't had any luck because refunds for donator's status was refunded up to the beginning of this year since they were falsely advertising what donator status gave. They used to say 1/8192 and we all know that has never been true since that's the single player rate and this is a multiplayer game with trading. They have now stated donator status gives +10%. I do believe that the rate was around 1/25,000-40,000. Since the recent dry out of new shiny pokemon appearing and you not even finding one this year I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the rate to 1/45,000-50,000 within 12 months, it could also be a move to promote people to buy donator status. Any time this does come up if an admin does drop by they end up giving a vague answer with no actual in-sight to the actual code (which I have no idea why, it's not like someone is going to hack into it and change it).

SHINY RATE

I would suggest not too since I got banned after shiny hunting for 3 hours with Youtube opened in another window. The game has changed a lot since I last played.
15. I didn't mean literally everyone in the game, I meant a big event with people willing to do it.
