    NU team

In UU it's useful. In NU FP is less useful (trust, I tried this set) and its more likely that someone just tries to chip damage you instead of letting you set up since you're muk and you're not that scary.

meh.. that Muk set's just a bit questionable, I've only ever seen Curse be very successful. It's not so much that Muk is really bad, it's just that having even more EQ/Psychic weaknesses on your team really hurts when you're facing Xatu, Nidoking, Pinsir, etc. There's just a certain lack of switch-in value when you use Muk that makes you wish you had something with useful resists.
  4. I'd say Modest is more popular/useful in UU right now.. although I'm no expert, I'd say that Calm isn't that useful because you're still gonna die to physical attacks or Psychic. 252hp/252spA would be a good Calm set - or you could go for a defense-invested set if for some reason you need Tenta to act as a mixed wall. As far as Breloom goes: Adamant with "enough speed" (probably want to outspeed Crawdaunt) or Jolly if you want a mixture of Speed and Bulk. You can also run a wall variant with Leech/Synth if you want but it seems really meh.

I'd honestly never use Muk in the current metagame. If Xatu is banned then go for it but for now its just too risky.

  9. Sorry I ran away from my computer Kay, i'll be back to annoy you with a new Haunter set tomorrow
  10. Also Amphy's a great check to Slowking, especially now that people are running Twave and Amph can abuse it
  11. Ampharos banned to BL2 Ampharos has been a top-tier threat in NU for most of the existence of the tier. Its great bulk, special attack stat, useful ability and typing allow it to effectively check many NU pokemon. Static allows it to paralyze the tier's threatening Physical sweepers (Scyther especially) and Heal Bell and Light Screen add to its support capabilities. However, despite its awesome abilities as a supporter, it also shines on offense, where its near perfect coverage and surprise Hidden Power turns many would-be checks into bait. While Gligar, Nidoking, Roselia, Camerupt and Whishcash all resist or take neutral damage from the standard Signal Beam + Thunderbolt combo, all of them can easily be baited or worn down by Agility sets, HP Ice/Water/Grass, or Ampharos can simply evade them. In particular, the Tiering council recognizes that Blastoise plays a large part in stopping these pokemon from being effective - however it is clearly less of a threat to the development of the metagame than Ampharos. As such, the Tiering Council has voted to ban Ampharos (5-2) for being centralizing and unhealthy for the tier. Players have long complained that Ampharos requires them to focus too much energy on having something to check it and not enough energy on other threats, as well as violating the "keeping broken pokemon around to check other broken pokemon" rule. If anything, it's clear that Ampharos is very close to being "too good not to use" as it is cosistently used on more than half of teams. It's also clear that Ampharos has a large effect in checking other potent attackers like Golduck, Xatu, Blastoise, and Haunter - we believe that each of these pokemon will need to be watched and evaluated in the coming weeks and we will be evaluating the possibility of quickbans as needed.
  12. So I'm good to post this in the community thread?
  13. this has been suggested before devs always shoot it down because it can be abused
  14. ^ basically my write up for when we ban, assuming people vote like they say they will this is one of those "speak now or forever hold your peace" types of situations, if you oppose the ban

  16. I'm gonna go with what toast said and recommend you scrap the Rain/Sand idea for a more conventional team. Kabutops, Gligar and Claydol all struggle to deal with the menace that is UU Vileplume, and wasting moveslots on Scizor and Gligar just to get chip damage is hard to justify. That said, Scizor/Tenta/Manec is a solid core that can threaten a lot of enemies offensively. I'd say if you threw in an Ampharos, Grumpig and Swellow instead of Kabutops, Gligar and Claydol you'd be much better off. Also, if you want a great UU Rock type, consider Cradily, who's an absolute monster once you get some Curses set up.
  17. Message me when you're online
