1. Hmm, I've seen several suggestions not quite like this but close so if you feel it needs to be locked then I wont mind, but even then, please do consider this. Now correct me if I am wrong, but the duties of a CM in game is to help out the community who needs support with whatever from safe trade evolutions where they wont get scammed to questions about how to reach island 4 and why there is no Moltres at top of Mt.Ember*
The star one I can volunter to mislead anyone asking personally to take some of the stress of the CMs as I love telling people about the glitch where you can catch moltres before logging off for the first time with a 5% if you have unowns spelling out FIRE and come to mt.ember during ch6, all unowns would have to be catched since last cycle but that probably wont be a problem as you cant have logged of yet either
So again, correct me if I am wrong, but when you log on, the way the server autoassign you to channels is based first on the order of the channels, and then secondly at how full each of them are which in 9 out of 10 cases will mean you get signed in at ch1 2 or 3? Well if this is the case, wouldn't it also make sense if these are the channels assigned for new people (since newbs is taken so offensively at the internet) and old ones (if they also need it) should come and ask questions in channel chats? If all I have been saying so far (except the spoiler I suppose as I don't think you want to auto-assign people to talk with me about that given what kind of answers I would give) Well ok, so I suppose that was the introduction to my suggestion. Why not assign the CMs the responsible to stick to ch1 2 or 3, where they now can do what they voluntered for and answer questions in channel chat. This might be the last attempt on saving global since restricting talking power there to after 4th gym clearly did not work out well. Now if people need to ask questions, they can do so in ch1 2 or 3 instead where the CMs (hopefully) will be more than happy to answer them, also those who like to help out the community can go to these channels and have fun answering questions. Meanwhile we can only hope global returns to what it used to be early September and from the stories we've been told, before (Hey Augusts) ;) Pros/cons
Pros: would decrease the need and desire some of the older player has for "veteran channels" and such which promote elitism in the view of the developers which you don't want to promote. Would give the community easier way to get their storyline questions answered (those that is missed out in FAQ I suppose) by both the community managers and those who now go tho those channels along with CMs to show their support in spoon-feeding skills. Would to some degree decrease the wordwars that often do occur in global between spoonfeeders and old people who prefer teaching people how to fish instead of giving fishes away. Cons Trolls and provokers would now easier find channels which isn't moderated to do their provoking and start unnecessary wordwars in order of hate for religion/race/country/digimon(other games) CMs would no longer have the chance to take their (in some cases well deserved breaks, in other cases leaving their duties to the spoonfeeders who will do it for them anyway in hope to be one of them). Some of the CMs would lose contact with their team who is more or less based in certain channels which you wouldn't autolog into (Marleyrose Gilgamesh comes to mind) (then again, I suppose Marley wouldn't be affected by this, at least not yet, as she isn't a in game CM or at least wasn't last time I saw her)
TL;DR: CMs voluntered to help the community with questions? Let them do so in ch1-3 and leave the others for conversations among those who play the game and don't need to ask how to do so nor is interested in telling those who do how to do so.
  2. You need to have Moltres in your pokedex to get it to work. Go challenge him. I know the sprite is taken out but this is how you get a 5% chance to fight and catch moltres
You make a new character Without logging of a single time (Moltres sprite dissapear once you log off) you have to do the walkthrough Now you need to catch unowns spelling out F I R E with the catch time in that order. Go to Mt.Ember with these unowns in the party and wait for the next cycle 6. When cycle 6 starts use itemfinder on the moltres and you have a 5% chance to encounter him in a battle You'll better catch it because you would have to start over again to get a new chance now.
3. hmm not sure if that was attempt on a joke but if it wasnt, "don't sweat it"="Don't worry about it". Example;
Mike and Brittany was at the gym running and Mike had this glass on water resting in front of his mill. Brittany, when done running, was heading for the shower when her sweater dragged Mike's glass of water over spilling it all out over him. "Oh MY! I am SOO Sorry" Brittany said as she noticed trying to weep the water off from Mike. "Don't sweat it" Mike responded nonchalant and pulled his t-shirt off before finishing his run. As he got out, he saw Brittany waiting at the exit with a note for him, her phone number. True story.
4. This post doesn't make much sense after I editedd previous post so I might as well edit this too
  5. This post has been edited due to necro. You can stick to global instead of going to this site.
  6. Although what you suggest here is by no means a bad idea I think you should rethink quite a bit HOW exactly you want this ladder system to work out because I don't think this is a very good way to rank players. I am thinking of this from your first post when saying this; I've seen you around in viridian and fought you myself back when I did duel in there and I am certain that although you don't participate in many tournaments you are, as well as rest of us, aware that a player might win 1 fight towards another and then both doing the exact same decision in a 2nd duel all the way and now for some reason the one losing is suddenly not just winning but demolishing the other player. That is the RNG factor, it is in tournaments and it will also be in duels. Only way to make a good ranking system is to acknowledge that RNG is an factor and that a win doesn't mean you are better than the other but rather have some point system than taking over the spot. If this is what you really want, then know that developers have stated before that they have plans for how they will organize the PVP in the future and possibility of rankings there. Further more, I wouldn't say I am very impressed by the ranking system you listed here either and I would at least be dissapointed if that would be all the change they would do with the PVP side of this game. I used to play pokemon online before I started playing pokemmo, that game had both tournaments and ladders and although the masses looked towards the ladder to see whom was better, I can tell you this, those who happened to be high ranked only used it for testing out teams etc as just trying to win to fix your ladder rankings in such games get tiresome really quickly, the best players decided to focus more on the tournaments and used that to really test their strengths towards eachother. RNG was still a factor, but we had 6v6 tournaments with double elimination and sometimes even triple elimination (we also had 4v4 tournaments and other more gimmicky stuff). My point here is that although you might regard tournaments in form of cups as very ghetto, it is regarded by many competitive players as more exciting than laddings where all you have to do is to keep beating the weaker teams to fix your rankings. This is a fact which is also reflected in other sports, let's take my favourite as example here, Football. And when I say Football, remember I am European and you can probably understand what game I am talking about with that in mind. In European club football there is a national league for each of the countries, and an European competition which consist of seeded teams being put in different groups of 4 teams per group. These groups every team will play eachother twice before #1 and #2 from each group will move on to a knockout stage where the #1 of one group will meet #2 of another group before moving on to a final. The National league every team will face all other team in the league twice throughout the year and get points for their victories. In this knockout phase, there will be 2 matches between the teams, (1 home and 1 away) and the total score will determine who's the winner. You can ask any footballer in the world what is greater feeling, winning the Champions League or winning the League. These footballers are fully aware themselves that one could simply have a off day and be knocked out of Champions League and they would be knocked out while in a league where they have 1 day off, it just means they aren't getting any points that day, and they would still be able to win. This means that there is a lot less pressure for the players during a league match and they can easier relax and ironically enough they can easier perform at a normal high level here while when in Champions league, the nerves really get to one and performing at a normal high level isn't enough anymore. You have to pull out your A-game and give it everything because you know for sure that is what the other side will be doing. This is what the player will tell you, and do you even need to ask anymore what competition is valued higher? This isn't just because this is the best teams from all of Europe gathered into one competition but also how this competition is build up. If it was a simple league, I can assure you the hype around it from the viewers and the players themselves would be significantly lowered as result. I am not saying here that it isn't a good thing to have a league (or ladder) as well in pokemmo (which I think is safe to assume is been planned for the future among the devs), because it is, and some people do like to give their best in those environments. I am rather arguing against your view of tournaments and how they are hosted is ghetto simply because they are simple to make. It isn't the work effort that decide the quality of a competition, but rather how well of a setup it is been used and the atmosphere around this. This is the main reason Olympics is as huge thing as it is among athletes as well. It is just 1 event and the one having a good day here will be crowned winner and unable to be challenged on this for 4 years. This adds an pressure most people can't even realize the magnitude of and the feeling after overcoming such a pressure can not be described as anything but thrilling. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ TL;DR; I don't agree with your view that ladders is better way to rank players than tournaments nor that just because it is a simple way to host tournament, it means it has to be a bad way, more workeffort=/=more quality. Back to your suggestion, the staff and developers has stated they have plans for something in the future when it comes to PVP and rankings, and I think adding ladders is something they've already considered. I also disagreed with your raw idea of how to make the ladder work and think that needs more thinking and quite a few adjustment before it should be put alive.
  7. but disabling other people sprites wont allow you to see your partner. This might make some sense but still, the less crowded channels seems decent enough to do a co-op playthrough with someone and yeah, a stranger might run through your recordings at some point but if you do this at the right channels, he wont come up to you asking you for stuff but rather ignore you and go on with his own business. I don't see that ruin much of the value in throse playthroughs unless they are trying to make some roleplay where they are the only 2 living people in a pokemon universe and has to explore it or something in those lines. Edit: Might be useful for some of them later when the deserted channels is more populated though, I wouldn't know as I am not making youtube videos myself.
  8. Hmm couldn't you just run the fire-red rom at another gameboy simulator of yours while recording if that is the only reason to do like this and you don't want players to interfere with your recording? If going to a less crowded channel isn't enough and you just don't want people to be in your recordings for whatever reason, why does the recordings HAVE to be in the MMO? That is the part I got hard time understanding here, might just be me. Please explain what I am missing.
  9. I couldn't pick between these 2, had to vote both

10. You could always take a trip into customization and offer your program there (once done) for those who would be interested I suppose. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/forum/24-customization/
When it comes to what the developers will do, all I know is that Darkshade has some plans for how to improve the graphic (and make sure I can't run the game anymore when he is done with his improvements ;D) What this is, I don't know but there is plans for something.
Hi

Hey, I've never seen your in game and maybe I never will, I still think it I should give you a proper welcome to the game (despite you joining this before I did. And even been the one developing this). I do hope that you get at least some time to enjoy the game if not at Desu, at some alts which will be unnamed (not implying I would know anything about what alts that would be) Still, if you ever find out you want to take a break from the job you are doing and just come online and ask me about competitive advices (as logn as it isnt about what EVspread to run) You would be free to do so, at Desu or at any alts of your choice (which pretty much mean I would try to be polite and answer to anyone who would have questions in how to find out what they should run). Partly the reason I am so resistant to give a certain EVspread out to players is that I don't believe there is just 1 certain way to do it, partly because if there was such a certain way, I wouldn't know it and partly because if I knew it, I wouldn't like to break a functional metagame among the community by telling how to counter any sets. Still welcome to the game and I hope you have fun developing it. P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.
  12. Hmm I am bored tonight so I decided to greet both new and old MMOers, although if I greet the old ones it just get hidden so you would do. We've met on a few occasions but that wont stop me from welcoming you officially here as well (although as silly as it is that I would welcome you who've been around for so much more time) First I thought about making some joke about your name been Ryan and the movie Save Private Ryan, then I decided against it because you most likely would've heard the joke in one or another way before. (How often do you hear those jokes about your name anyway?) And how often are they at least a tiny bit original? Also, I offer this to anyone I welcome to the forums so although you might even not be the slightest interested in this nor may I have anything to say that you wouldn't already know even if you did find it interesting, I will let you know that you are free to take contact in game and ask me any questions you would have about competitive play. However I would not give you an exact EVspread to run a certain pokemon (as I believe there is more ways than 1 to run any pokemon) but rather tell you what I use to do when I pick a EVspread for a competitive pokemon so that you can do something close to the same. Have fun playing and just a taster of the tip I could be giving, EVtrain attack at heracross/shroomish (100% encounter rate with level 15 repeller lead) as a shiny of those would be worth way more (although that isnt very likely) and every heracross do give +2 atk. Saves you quite some time when EVtraining more than 1 pokemon, even compared to gyarados pool. P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.
  13. Welcome, also I would love to see a monotype fire team actually doing some work. Hopefully that tier will become more common among the tournament hosters around here, and you can show the rest of us how to run such a thing in this generation. I for one would look forward to a fireteam dominating the competitive scene and if you want to duel monotype for fun, just give me a whisper while I am on and I will be up for it unless I am hunting something IGN LeVolpe P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.

    .

Good to see that I wasn't the only one who was lurking the forums before making my own account and starting to post. I've seen a few posts of you and I think you will fit with the majority of the forum community quite well from what I've seen so far. I like those who are willing to view how things works in a forum for a bit before making their own "entrance" I guess I should call it, and whether you are into competitive play, hunting for shinies or just casual gaming with forum posting, I think you will go just fine with most of us. Even so, if you do choose to go into competitive play (and go for the 50s) and you find yourself have any questions, do not hesitate with contacting me (really, come sooner than later if you want to go that way), and I will try to answer you the best way I think (maybe more in a long term situation, but from the looks of it, you will also gain more from that if you do choose to approach me). Also if you do already know quite a bit and just want a discussion about something, I love that so take contact. I wish you the best in your experience around here and hope you find as much joy about the game as I has If you ever choose to want to take contact; IGN LeVolpe P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.
  15. Hello, I hope you know about EVs and IVs if you want to go through with that. (If you dont know the terms, you should google EV pokemon and IV pokemon and read up on it). You are in luck, this MMO will have an own window for the EVspread (The original game should learn from this MMO in that department) where you can see what EVs the pokemon has. If you have any questions about this (please read up on some of the basics first though) and want to talk with someone about it. Feel free to whisper me (IGN: LeVolpe). I will however not tell you what EVspreads to run as I believe that really depends on your style and there is no certain way to run a pokemon and if it was, I wouldn't know that exact spread nor have the IVs to run it. What I would tell you is more about how I approach when trying to determine the EVspread for a certain pokemon and sometimes give you a few hints about what could make a pokemon be good. P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.
  16. I liked reading your story about how you got into pokemon and played it with friends and such. I hope you will see more what competitive play is about here as that is quite different than what you probably were used to when playing with friends. Also I am free to help you to some point (I wont tell you what EVspreads to run at certain pokes but I will tell you how to find this out by yourself and give you hints on certain pokemons) I also hope you and your friends find this MMO interesting and maybe even make your own team which come into the competitive scene around here. We sure could use more teams to compete among ourselves with as some of the more successful teams have grown somewhat too big lately) Welcome IGN: LeVolpe P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.
  17. Welcome, I hope you know the basics about EVs and IVs. The Army gave me too much free time. I guess that is just because the way it is arranged in different countries. If you got any questions about competitive playing (please not EVspreads) feel free to whisper me. IGN LeVolpe (Also take contact if you are a football fan and want to discuss possible transfers and how they will affect the different leauges. I love to hear other people opinions on that ;D) P.S. If I am not online, feel free to PM me and I do my best to reply.

    hello

buongiorno. Io non parlo italiano molto bene. Benvenuto Forza Milan.
Good day, I do not speak italian very well, Welcome. Go Milan!
19. I hope you know about EVs and IVs, always fun with new teams competing. Oh, 50s>100s Welcome and good luck
  20. Then do because I just see people stalling out time in duels to waste the other player so a teammate can get away with the flag. Doesn't work well for a turn based game like pokemon, it works better for games where you can keep hitting whether your opponent decide to hit back or just sit still and wait you out.

    Looking for team!

Well you've come to right section of the forums at least. However, when looking for a team, you are kind a supposed to look through the team threads and find a recruiting team you like, then you apply for the given team and hear if they will let you in or not. If not move on to next potential team. You don't make a new thread saying you are looking for a team and the reason is simply if everyone looking for a team start a thread about it, that will push all the actual team threads out of the first page and make the forum quite messy. Good luck in your search though, I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Favourite Animal

Ye I suppose I should have given it more thought when first adding the options but I just took the 19 first (except your humans and 20th been "other - please specify") and added them to the poll. I wanted to add just a 2nd question asking if people would please not vote in as well but unsure if that would really work out well so I just leave it be. Hopefully people just vote "others - please specify" and add a reply with what animal. I am more interested in seeing what people write than how the voting actually turns out anyway.
