I've played some heavy-shit grindy games (although mostly RPGs) like for example Diablo and Path of Exile, and never in those games where grinding for gear, items and gold should be a priority I have found myself saying "I'm really tired of doing this, I don't want to". Why? Because some of these games offer a little of diversity and a bit of payout at the end. Optional missions, different dungeons with different rewards, PvE events that happen randomly during a quest. I don't want to compare apples and oranges, but maybe a little of diversity could be added here too. In the end, grinding shouldn't be easy but imo it shouldn't be tedious either. Because a lot of people are gonna become bored of it and quit, only the tryhard kids are gonna stay. Eventually, only real competitive people who sink a lot of time grinding and breeding are gonna play, or those who were rich before the new breeding system. I don't see what could be appealing to new players, you get thrown into the game and you have to do the same boring stuff every day. Yeah, I would be turned off the game too.

I'm sitting at 350k right now, and most of it is old money I had before the new breeding system was implemented. I'm just trying to be conservative and not spend all of it on breeding. Of course that means my comps suck, and I settle for decent pokes instead of perfect ones. Then I see kids in chat with 6x31 and I think "I'm lucky enough I can get one 2x31 without spending a lot of money, how can they do that". Just the thought of doing island runs and farming payday bores me out of my mind.

Because I'm too lazy to do anything. -Too lazy to rework all my team to make them 6x31 perfect IVs as per nowadays standards. -Too lazy to grind for mulah to buy shit -Too lazy to grind tower -Too lazy to find a team, as my old one is dead and IRL friends don't play this game I was never competitive to begin with, and being up to par with the competitive scene takes too much efforts and isn't really worth it for me. Singleplayer/ storyline missions were fun though, I guess that's what makes the game for me

On imgur there was a thread about Pokemon Gold and Silver versions which you could play on your browser.. and then someone in the comments linked to this game.

Amazing how I always miss swarms with new/valuable pokes and then when I'm on there's always a crappy pokemon swarm....
