I'm curious about sorting pokemon boxes automatically through an intuitive UI. Is such a thing possible, perhaps as a mod? What about additional search features?
All Pokemon games encourage us to fill our BOXes up with sub-optimal mons in our Master quest, but they almost never give us a satisfactory way to manage those BOXes once they're filled up.
The BOX that fills up first is just "the last one you checked, I guess."
When sorting is present as a feature, we can't actually save our boxes in the sorted configuration; it's just an ethereal view.
It feels needlessly archaic to me as someone who knows nothing about the underlying system.
I feel like PokeMMO could blow the BOX system out of the water, but maybe it is limited by the game files themselves or something. I'm curious to know because I imagine our game data must be going out to a server somewhere, so there must be an API that knows how to talk to that old BOX system.
Maybe if it makes enough sense I could take a whack at it.
