First off, I just wanted to give a big shout out to the devs for all their work on the game recently and all of the new content they added. It's been a blast to play through.
One thing that I've always wondered though and felt would complete the overall Pokemmo experience was if they started to bring in some of the stuff that currently isn't in the game and is either blocked off or has the npc saying "this function is not implemented".
Imagine if we had full access to the battle frontier, frontier brains, all of the mini games like the underground mini game in Sinnoh, bug catching contest in Johto, etc. You could also make a lot of fun community events out of these too. For me at least, these are some of the reasons why I go back and play some of the mainline games, because they have these features and they bring a lot of replayability to the games.
This is part of the reason why I feel a lot of players drop off after finishing the story lines. You can see in global chat sometimes where a new player asks why a certain feature is blocked off and then someone replies that it's not in the game and you can sense a bit of disappointment sometimes by the new player. That's how I felt while I was playing through the story lines.
What I came to realize is once you've finished the story lines in Pokemmo and are entering post game content, you kind of have to change the way you view the game bit. Of course it still has a lot of the core features that are in a traditional Pokémon game, but it becomes a lot more about managing resources and setting your own goals/having your own reasons to keep playing. (I like to compare it to something like Animal Crossing but with Pokemon) Now don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with having the post game be like this. There's obviously a lot of people that still love playing because they end up finding things to do and are able to make up their own goals but this is why I feel a lot of people also stop playing. They don't end up making that shift of seeing that you kind of have to make your own goals and then they stop playing because they feel like they've done everything worth doing because they're used to the traditional Pokémon games.
If you think about it, with the 5 regions that are in the game now, there's probably close to a full region's worth of content that isn't currently implemented in the game if you added them all together. I'd honestly rather see some of this stuff starting to be implemented over seeing another region come into the game any time soon.
Anyway, this was just something that's been in the back of my mind while I played this game. Hopefully this doesn't come off as a rant or me complaining because it's not meant to be that at all. Like I said before, I can see that the devs really care about this game and I have been super happy and appreciate all of the new stuff being added. I'm sure it would also take a lot of work making it all play well with the economy, etc. I just feel like this is what would truly complete this game, at least for me.
