That still requires you to obtain a female EV, which is 12.5% chance of occurring naturally. In that case then yes it does allow you to swap the OT. but this requires you to still have that OT Male rattata and to purchase the Female Eevee, both of those are not easy to do. The OT does not add to a shiny Shiny Ditto would be used I imagine in cases for genderless pokemon shinies mostly, or for some very very rare shinies, but for more common shinies the OT thing is fairly saddening just.

The new OT system makes perfect sense when wanting to prevent people from copping out of catching pokes by breeding it with one from GTL, and it does this well, however this makes me feel kinda sad since it was paired in the same update as shiny breeding. My only OT is a Shiny Persian, and it is male. Ideally if it was female I would make a Meowth so it has pickup unlike it's evolved form however that is besides the point, no, that is the point actually Why would I want to breed my male OT pokemon with a female non-OT pokemon other than if my OT happened to have a 31 in a stat or if it was able to pass on some egg moves, Eg Fake Out from Persian --> Pikachu (holding lightball) for comp moveset shiny pika. The OT /is/ pointless in this regards, but, considering to me an OT shiny is so valuable in sentimental value since it is my only ever, I really do not want to lose that "useless tag" otherwise I would take pride in breeding it with something to get an interesting move on another pokemon or to get an OT field pokemon that I do not own. Just my thoughts, I just think that the new OT mechanic shouldn't be used for shinies if one of the Shinies is your OT.

I support this. With the edition of hordes, and generally having the ability to EV train all stats efficiently and to obtain anything through breeding. The only reason I fish anymore is in Icefall cave in shallow dreams of finding a shiny Poliwag/Whirl for my fav shiny: Politoed. If this was added it would help my sanity and make me feeling like my dream is possible, after the persian incident.

After this update I scurried online to see if my Shiny Persian was female or male, hoping it was female (it wasn't) If it was female I would have made an adamant or something Meowth and level 100 it for paydaying purposes. On a side note, why does the OT mechanic have to work the way it does? If it was so you don't breed a chansey someone else is the OT of to get a chansey for your pokedex, why can this not be an exception for shinies? Its just overall discouraging for me with my Male persian, there is almost 0 reason to use it in the new breeding unless I want an egg move like Fake Out etc on something. oh well. Edit: Male Shiny Smeargle's value just went up a lot as the objectively best egg move passer to other shinies.

I'm blatantly testing my luck but apparently that worked for that one guy and life orb so why not. So i asked how to get memento. so Axx, in your example you sketched Smog, does that mean we can't get memento or...???

Would sketch not fail as there would be no target, as memento will happen, pokemon will die, smeargle will sketch (no target) then the pokemon (My smeargle) will come in?

as mentioned, if Suicune is added, water absorb pokemon may get run more often, so Vaporeon would probably go up a tier. Politoed may become UU too. would be interesting.

Darkshade at many times has hinted that this will not be the case, and it has been mentioned that Dungeons will contain a legendary pokemon. I am fairly confident that they will be available to keep permenantly. Even if i'm wrong, there's no harm in some speculation, is there?

I understand that we have no idea when the first legendary will be implemented, and if it will even be allowed in PvP. As such this will be entirely speculation, however, I still think it will be interesting to think about and see if there will be any pokemon that will get a chance to shine to deal with this soon-to-be threats. Since we have no idea which legendaries will be implemented first, I have made a list of a few of the most relevant legendaries that will almost certainly be OU.
