  1. You can fix inflation, even if it's not easy, it just takes a lot of care and time. Your proposal of increasing the generation rates of other sources just worsens inflation, and is actually worse for new players as yes they get more yen but that yen becomes overall worth less than it was before, meaning they are essentially making "Less money". Because of this it would not be a viable solution regardless of current situations.
  2. Good luck you brave soul, let it be known that the chance any Pokémon is shiny is significantly lower than in the handhelds (1/30,000) so brace yourself for the long-con.
  3. Worth noting, while you cannot see it whether an egg will be shiny shiny is determined when it is given to you, NOT when it hatches. So if you wanted to use Donator Status and/or Shiny Charm to increase your odds you would want them active when you generate the eggs, not when they hatch. So if you have oodles of PC boxes of things you could pop donator status + shiny charm and for the next hour turn everything into eggs and pop them into your PC without hatching, then after it runs out you go to hatching them with flame body etc, this would technically be the most optimal way to do it in theory. Good luck! c:
  4. 1) Data on how many players are online is not public and will not be disclosed, sorry. 2) Dungeons are planned content but outside of that there is are no further details available. The announcement section of our forums is where I would recommend keeping an eye on for future content. I will be locking the thread now.
  5. If it makes you feel any better, I considered making it 2x31 and 4x0. If I could have set an option for 0 speed I would have. Maybe one day.

  9. Johto starters are likely in the Hoenn Safari zone as Johto is unavailable, I will agree once Johto is added to the game them being available in the Hoenn Safari would be outdated and it would be reasonable to see them moved into the wild then. Before Johto is added however I think it is fine they remain where they are for now.
  10. Changing things because they have been the same for a long period of time is only good if they are actively problematic, Johto starters being as difficult to obtain as they are is not problematic. If they were Genderless for instance then perhaps I would be inclined to agree with you, however you only need one so it is not problematic and therefore changing it for the sake of changing it is not necessarily a wise decision. When you claim it is outdated, what exactly are you referring to?
  11. Things being easier is not necessarily a good thing, especially for the economy. It is worth noting that you only need a singular one of these pokemon in order to make an OT comp 5x31 etc.
  12. Hello, Currently no pokemon from Generation 6+ (Kalos, Alola etc) are in the game. We only have pokemon from Generation 5 and earlier (Unova, Sinnoh, Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto) though you cannot visit Sinnoh or Johto currently. There have been no stated plans for the introduction of generation 6 to PokeMMO so Yveltal and Xerneas are not in the game. Darkrai is also currently not available as no legendary pokemon are available in a permanent way, Zekrom / Rayquaza / Mewtwo can be captured for a small amount of time but cannot be kept. In the future Legendary Pokemon will be made permanently obtainable through Dungeons (custom PokeMMO content) and that is where Darkrai would be made available (if he ever is available.).
  13. I agree, this could very easily tank the berry market cause there's no safety net for what price they can sell for anymore, so it may end up just becoming a ghost-town (Or it could end up where very few people produce berries for a long time, so supply goes down and then after a VERY LONG TIME it goes back to normal? but the market would probably never return to exactly what it is now). In regards to deflation this wouldn't cause active deflation but rather hinder inflation, very rarely will an MMO ever NOT be going through inflation, it's usually just a case of "How much inflation", and in PokeMMO's case (I don't have hard numbers but...) it tangibly feels like inflation is going on which usually means a fair amount is occurring. In regards to people suggesting we re-introduce limited time vanities 1) This is basically off topic, 2) Limited Time vanities are objectively harmless, the players are determining these astronomical prices of their own accord (Hyping themselves into thinking they are worth the price). There will ALWAYS be something astronomically priced in MMO economies that people use as symbols of status or to show off to other players, sometimes its hyper dumb things like a cooking recipe that is identical to another cooking recipe (except one is tradeable, see Thistle Tea recipe in WoW.). You literally cannot stop people from wasting money on dumb things.
  14. I personally agree that they need nerfed, I was just musing about the fact people will inevitably complain about it being nerfed (if it is), which is not me trying to defend it from being nerfed but more so me just lamenting the infinite threads we'd see on forums regarding the topic from people who are upset. On an individual level, yes, a player can gain monetary value from exchanging RP for an item and then trading it in the same way he could obtain it by exchanging his time by grinding Gym Rematches etc. However this is not the same when you look at this on a sever-wide scale instead of individual level. "Monetary Value" from things which are not yen itself cannot be generated in the same way as the raw currency, their monetary value adjusts based on how many of something there are perceived to be. Yen is different because it is tied to things directly, for instance 200 yen can never be worth less than 1 Pokeball because you could just turn the 200 yen into 1 Pokeball. To give an example of why this sort of isn't the case for RP item's i'll make an oversimplified analogy: For general "Supply and Demand" imagine that the Demand is how big a Cake is, and the Supply is how many equally sized slices are being taken out of the cake. How much demand there is for any given commodity is how big the cake is. People want the item? big cake, people literally don't care? tiny cake. Introducing more of the item into the economy (e.g. RP items) theoretically does not change the size of the cake, it increases the number of equally sized slice that cake is cut into, resulting in overall smaller slices (representing cheaper prices). Because RP items are inert (they can't be sold for yen / exchanged for items to NPCs) they can be more easily be understood in terms of what's happening to their market. Yen is not inert, it can be exchanged for things and is involved in literally every item's market. On a server-wide level an increase in yen results in the Size of each Cake increasing because Yen has decreased in value, therefore people are more willing to give more yen to match the "Demand" for an item (which has remained the same). This is super simplified (not because I am trying to talk down to anyone, it's because I struggle to put into words) but I do not think it is disingenuous and serves to explain why Berries and RP items are different (because Berries increase the amount of Yen in circulation).
  15. I'm sorry, you seem to have failed to understand the difference between player-player trading and player-NPC trading. Items being traded to other players and pokemon themselves involved money moving from one player to another, a completely net neutral transaction for the amount of yen in circulation. Berries are problematic because players have the option to trade them to NPC's for a fair price per unit, and receive many individual units. Player-Player trading does not generate any yen from thin air, in fact trading through the GTL for pokemon is 100% yen removal from the economy because of the listing fees etc. Purchasing any item with RP generates absolutely 0 Yen in the server, nothing from the Gift Shop has an in-game sell price to NPC's, and is not comparable to berries.
  16. Personal opinions, not an official response or anything: I think that farming berries should not be the most optimal form of Pokeyen generation, and instead should be supplementary at best (i.e. at max they should be a little bonus on the side from a fairly low maintenance activity). Currently as people have mentioned it produces profits that exceed things such as Gym rematches etc. Berry Sell prices (to NPC's) is an interesting issue because it creates a price floor where berries will not be sold for less than that on the GTL (which is a good thing) but because of alt usage it is causing problems where the "Do once a day" thing has become a "Do all day to keep getting profit" issue. Removal of berry sell prices would prevent berries from contributing to inflation, however this would effect the market for how much berries sell for and could result in berries being ridiculously cheap on the GTL since there's no longer a price floor that they can't drop below (making farming berries for sale on the GTL not very appealing). Personally I do think berries becoming hyper cheap is worth the prevention of continued inflation from mass alt sales, but just mentioning the downside this change would cause. From a "This feels bad" stand point, I also think something regarding berries being sold to NPCs needs to be changed because I don't think it's fair to expect players to have to have to get 10+ alts through Hoenn / Unova in order to fly around planting berries all day. That does not sound fun but it is currently one of the best yen generation methods, inevitably if this is changed we will have people complain that "I spent so long getting all these alts ready to berry farm and you remove their sell price making it pointless!" or something so not everyone will be happy if this is changed the way it has been suggested but I do think it is healthier for the game and healthier for the players as a whole (since I think alts should not be significant enough benefits to feel "Required".).
  17. As Gilan said, I'm sorry but we do not disclose online / active player statistics.
  18. Legendary Pokemon were stated to be planned for Dungeons (custom PokeMMO content) in the future where certain legendary pokemon (basically ones that are not guaranteed to go straight to Ubers) are likely to become permanently available to players. All of this is obviously subject to change but this is the most information I can provide you on the topic of legendary pokemon. I'm also looking forward to legendary pokemon, especially Regice, Celebi, Manaphy, Phione, and Articuno if I had to have a list. As I've addressed your question I will be closing the thread, if you have any other questions feel free to message me on these forums. c:
  19. Hello! Yes, Sinnoh will be the next Region added to the game and it is currently being worked on. Information about exactly when it will be released are unknown currently however any future information will likely be posted in the announcement section of our forums which you can find here: https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/forum/4-announcements I can safely confirm that it is based on Platinum, and as such will need the appropriate ROMs etc. Since everything's been responded to I will be closing this thread. If you have any further questions (Outside of ETA's since we don't have one) feel free to message me on forums.
  20. 1) Wrong, MMOs function on their Economy for the most part. Especially MMOs that have any form of Consumables (E.g. FFXIV / WoW / PoE / PokeMMO / Maplestory etc. ) 2) I am pretty sure the vast majority of people only used these games in the singleplayer modes vs. NPCs, which speaks to single player more than multiplayer. 3) You are citing my own point which illustrates how the "Difficulty" of obtaining something translates into its value. Not everything should be 1,000$ on GTL. Things being more difficult (because you cannot 100% catch them, Safari Zone or Otherwise) is a good thing. You don't like it, that doesn't mean it's not a good thing. 4) Yes, the price for breeders will go up when they are more difficult to obtain. As long as there is demand for breeders (which there is) then people will catch them. What ultimately will change is the selling price of the breeders over the GTL (Which as i said before will go up slightly over time until it counteracts the cost needed for extra pokeballs to catch things like ditto) 5) This isn't true, and what is considered a "big part of the game" is subjective in a lot of ways. Some players just don't bother using Dusk / Repeat Balls and stick to ultra balls anyway and they saw no real change from the Pokeball Multiplier Rate change. Everyone felt the effects of the Catch-Rate Calculation Bug Fix equally but it was a bug fix on something that was making everything easier than it should have been and needed to be fixed. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad. 6) People complain about Vaccines (Anti-Vaxxers) yet they are an overwhelmingly beneficial treatment that saves millions of lives. People complain about it so it must be bad by your logic. Bonus point: You will not hold respectful debates with anyone if you attempt to invalidate things they say with petty points like "You're just a shill for the devs" etc. If you want to be taken seriously on these forums I personally recommend you avoid doing things like this in the future.
  21. The point about pokeball cost is just incorrect, the cost of Pokeballs used has always been a deduction from overall profit through sales, their prices have not changed drastically (though the number required is no longer required to be 1 due to 100% catch rate). Over time market will see minor price increases for sales of 1x31's and dittos etc to balance this fact out. You are citing the fact that things have not instantly become more profitable over the course of 6 months in a 7 year old economy as "proof" that it "Isn't a valid point". These things take time. All of the pokemon that had been stockpiled into the market from BEFORE the change need to be consumed / removed before the price will have fully readjusted which explains why it takes more than 6 months. Players perceiving this as a bad thing is entirely understandable, it feels tangibly bad because you can look at the before and after and go "I don't like this", but if everything was infinitely easy to catch every pokemon would become worthless as you wouldn't need to spend time taking turns to false swipe + spore, you wouldn't need to spend 1-2 extra turns because it isn't a 100% catch rate, you wouldn't need to invest money into more pokeballs for those extra attempts. All of this makes the pokemon "Easier" to obtain, people pay less for "Easy to obtain" things. Look at Scyther on the GTL (currently 20k+), then compare that to Larvitar (7k+), and then compare that to Timburr (1k+). These are all incredibly prevalent OU Pokemon families, so their demand is arguably equivalent yet their prices on the GTL are drastically different. Scythers are 2,000% the price of Timburr. Why is this? Because Scyther is "Tedious" to catch by comparison to Larvitar, and Larvitar is more "Tedious" to catch than Timburr as it is rarer. You can extrapolate this in general to "What if we made Scyther easier to catch?" The answer is it would drop in price to about the price of Larvitar if it was rare, or to the price of TImburr if it was common. If you want to turn around and tell me that the Timburr market is "Flourishing" you are free to do so of course, but I am free to disagree and say it is a dead market that will never feasibly hold value.
  22. The base calculation, the thing that understood whatever the equivalent of 1+1 = 2, was broken. that is the catch rate fix that happened in December. Some pokeballs were nerfed to be worse than the handhelds for balance reasons, not bug fix reasons. So, to answer your question, "Both" but for different reasons.
  23. As I said before I am very confident Dusk Ball has been intentionally nerfed, along with the other Pokeballs. If It hasn't and this is a mistake I will return and address this, but I am quite confident on my memory regarding this.
  24. Please do mention examples which you believe to be incorrect in terms of catch rate calculations, just remember to factor in any catch rate multiplier changes to Pokeballs and the fact that we use the gen III / gen IV catch rate calculations (last I checked, could be misremembering). If you find discrepancies while taking these both into account I'd be genuinely interested to hear them. Your entire MMO's economy is based around pokemon, if the source of obtaining pokemon is too easy then they become increasingly more cheap, if they become cheaper on an individual level then them combined (into comps) becomes cheaper overall in terms of how players value them. This makes selling pokemon a nightmare which means people to make money will turn to things like selling vanities or shiny pokemon as nothing else will hold any semblance of value. This is just me speculating (no one can truly 100% predict these things), but I do really believe this is a case of unforeseen consequences for something that seems nice in the short-term. And to anyone who complains that a Pokemon-themed MMO has MMO style changes I don't know what to tell you, we don't exactly hide the fact this is an MMO. It's in the name.
  25. I'm pretty sure the ones that got changes are just flat-out custom values for PokeMMO is what I mean.
