1. Yo what theme is that, it's beautiful and goes perfectly with my desktop theme On topic: My best comp is probably my sp def wall Ludicolo. The moveset needs work(Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Surf, Rain Dance), but the IVs are all 30-31 except for Attack, with Calm nature. I also love my Kingdra, but I can't share the info on that because I actually use it.
2. Daily tasks for Money/Exp/Other Rewards isn't a farfetched thing for a game to have. Actually things like that are fairly common in MMOs from what I've seen. Expanding on the idea, I think something like "Bring me X amount of Y item and I'll give you Z amount of cash/something else" would definitely be a cool mechanic. Daily events such as this are great because they give players a reason to log in every day, and due to only being possible once per day they allow for pretty great rewards during a short amount of time. There are a million and one different Daily Events that could be added too, offering a lot of variety. Things like 'Fetch x item for me' or 'Kill x amount of y monsters' are some that come to mind.
3. Smog is the new BONG iirc, and a bit of history: The team name Bong was against the rules apparently so they had to change it. This isn't uncommon though, people leaving. Players come and go on games. Some diehard players stick around for a few years, but others play until they get bored and move on to a new game. I can imagine most of them just got burnt out and moved on to other things.
4. See that clears things up. Emily and King left when OT got nuked I think. I talked to Emily recently on Teamspeak when she logged on for a few minutes, but she left and hasn't come back since from what I've seen. Neither of them were ever really active in game, so I imagine they haven't got much of a reason to come back. It's depressing as fuck seeing friends leave, and even worst that it's indirectly my fault, but that's how shit is. We've seen the loss of a lot of cool members, and a lot of really shit ones too, over the last year. Maybe that's why you find the forums to be not what they used to be.
5. Do you even know who Emlee and King are I was an OT mod, and I knew every person who ever posted during my time there. Your name does not ring a bell.
6. Mate, you've been here for like 5 months. You can't say 'It's not what it used to be' when you're still in your infancy. Although to some extent I can agree. After getting OT nuked I've noticed there's never anything that really interests me, especially so now that I'm a player. Maybe I oughta check out Round Table like Fuzzy suggests, because we do have a really cool community, but lately even Suggestions Box has been boring me. I miss King and Emlee ;_;
7. Alright, I think I read this right. Basically when a user makes money, a certain amount of that money is taken away and stored in a 'savings account'? This doesn't really solve anything. The problem is that people are having difficulty making money, not that they're having issues saving it, and from what I can tell from this solution it doesn't increase how fun it is to make money, nor does it increase the amount of money they can make. Assuming I understood the suggestion, this adds nothing that you can't already do by just keeping all your money and manually budgeting it. Edit: When I say 'not that they're having issues saving it', I mean that there are a ton of things that demand money in our game, and not many fun ways to make it efficiently. Sure, you can payday for a week, save it all and have loads of money, but an active player will have to shell out money constantly for comps, items and various other things. From what I can tell the issue here is that people are needing to spend money at a faster rate than they want to make it, because our methods of making money simply aren't fun.
8. Nah don't worry, nothing in this thread really calls for a punishment. I wish you the best of luck in your future competitive career o/
9. Oh sweet, thanks. I had thought it died.
10. This is a fairly simple suggestion, and there are a few different ways I can think of to go about it. The main idea is to have a setting that makes only messages from people on your friends list appear in the chat box. Some things I think this system should have: - Obviously the ability to set all your chats to Public, Friends Only or Off(not really neccessary) - The ability to set your Whipsers to 'Friends Only'. /dnd mode is a good system for not recieving whispers, however having a 'Friends Only' mode would be convenient since /dnd blocks all incoming whispers, even the people you have on your friends list. - The ability to set different chats to block all messages that aren't by your friends. So I should be able to set my Global/Channel chats to 'Friends Only', but keep my Whispers and Team chat's 'Public' and allow all messages to be seen. - DND mode accessible through the menu. Most new users don't know what the chat commands are, and simply having a 'Private = Off' button somewhere would be a whole lot easier to figure out for new players than typing '/dnd'. This is the system I considered the best solution: Options for different types of chats: The best option imo would be to have a menu below, beside, above or inside the chat box with settings for the chats. In this menu there would be a 'Public Chats' option for Global/Channel/Normal/Trade/Shout, 'Team Chat' for the team chat, and 'Whispers' for the private messages. Each chat type would have it's own option, so I could have my 'Public Chat' set to Friends Only, but my 'Team Chat' and 'Whispers' chats set to public. Having an 'Off' option for the 'Public' and 'Team' chats similar to our DND mode would be great too, but somewhat uneccassary since you can do just that via the already existing 'Chat Tab' settings. Pros: Handles everything well and allows for you to have your Whispers chat completely friends, public or off. It's also very simple, and doesn't require any fiddling or searching to figure out where the settings are located. They would be shown right on the menu(which could be displayed straight on the screen, or opened via a button) and easy to access. Cons: It lacks the ability to completely control what's on or off. For instance you can't have your Global on Friends Only and your Channel on Public at the same time. It also contributes to menu clutter, having to put this interface somewhere. This system probably shouldn't be per tab, but rather affect all chat tabs. Regardless of how it's implemented, I think this system would be incredibly beneficial to the players. I'll be honest and say I only like 5% of the people I've met in public chats on PokeMMO. It's no secret that our chat suffers from people spamming it trying to sell their shit-tier Pokemon, among other things. This doesn't really solve that, very few things can, however it puts the user in control of what they see. I find myself blocking 20-30 people a day in game just for trading alone, and I got to thinking "Why can't I just block everyone except the people on my friends list?", which is essentially what this system does. Runescape's system is very similar to the system I proposed above, and it works really well. Runescape also suffers from spam in the popluated areas, however having my chat only showing messages from friends allows me to carry on a conversation with my friends, regardless of how many other people are also trying to have conversations. Just some other options I was thinking about but did not consider a good solution so I decided to leave them out.
'Friends Only.' option when creating/editing a chat tab: When making a new tab have a check box for 'Friends Only', and make the option independent to each tab. Pros: Allows the user to have public and private tabs of the same chat, which means being able to easily switch between public and private. Cons: Needing a private and public version of each tab(Main ones being Channel, Global and Normal.) takes up space on the chat box. Can't really 'Block' whispers as the player might have a public and private whispers chat channel. 'Friends Only.' option via right clicking a tab: At any point you can right click a tab and a menu with "Public/Friends Only" options will appear, allowing you to turn your chat to private. Note: This would preferably work per tab, so that I can set my Channel chats to private but not my whispers. Pros: Same as above but switching the 'Public/Private' option on and off is easier and less tedious than having to go into the tab menu, find the tab and toggle it off. Also has the benefit of not really needing a tab of each type because it's only 2 clicks to change the option on or off. Cons: Similar to the first, it might be difficult to make it able to have whispers set to 'Friends Only' because one might have a public and private whisper tab. This would also be annoying for team chat where you may want to see messages from everyone, but because the system works per tab it'd block team messages in that tab as well.
11. I remember a while back I needed to test out a comp team, and I got a teamate to build a Gen 4 team using only Gen 3 Moves, Abilities and Pokemon and it was accurate. While there's no popular or official 'PokeMMO Simulator', just doing what's been said above works pretty well. Also this is technically true, due to the rule that states in the code of conduct, but it's rare that people get punished for referencing Showdown. Back when OT was still around we had an entire thread dedicated to Pokemon Showdown, and to be honest referencing tools(such as Bulbapedia, Psypokes etc.) is perfectly fine in my opinion because PokeMMO doesn't have any alternatives built into the game/forums for them. Stuff like Bulbapedia and other external sites are invaluable tools for new and experienced players. Things that are directly trying to stop players from playing PokeMMO and have them move to another game however have always been punishable.
12. I don't know Grey's reason for resigning, but I'm taking a break to focus on my studies and various other things. Also: All the staff are my favorite staff. They all volunteer for a job that, in my opinion, was pretty tedious and sometimes depressing, and they do it because they love you guys and the game. Anyone who does that is ok in my book. >tfw I'm bad at picking favorites
13. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/51560-new-implemented-pokemon-locations-held-items-guide/ That'll tell you where to find the Pokemon and held Items in the game. Also the Guide Tavern is pretty much our equivalent of a wiki.
14. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/55334-a-message-telling-us-our-egg-is-ready-when-breeding/?hl=egg Kaynine beat you to it. Regardless, this is a good feature to implement imo. The entire breeding process now takes a signifigant amount of work in comparison to the pre-update system, and asking a player to sit around and wait for Pokemon to breed is unneccassary. I've always viewed the period where you wait for an egg to appear as a 'Relaxation' period where you're free to take a break and do something else. Unfortunately not being notified when an egg appears limits how much you can really do during this period. Usually what I do is just rapidly talk to the breeder NPC until I get an egg so that I get my egg as soon as it becomes available. With a notification system in place however one could run off and VS Seeker, hunt for more breeders, items, or do a variety of other productive things, or even just sit back and relax while waiting for an egg. The player would still be able to get their egg as soon as possible and continue on hatching it due to being notified the moment the egg becomes available.

16. Briefly checked through the main.properties file and there's nothing there for font size. It would be a nice feature to have though. Edit: I assume OP meant in game, because on the forums it's pretty self explanatory how to change the size of text.
17. A "Happiness Raising" NPC exists already in the original games doesn't it? Iirc Daisy Oak would groom your pet and it'd raise it's happiness. Not the most interesting mechanics, but it's a hell of a lot better than biking or shelling out loads of money, even if it's only a temporary fix. Edit: It'd be really great if we got some easy, fun or less annoying way of training Happiness. Return/Frustration are both powerful moves that a lot of Pokes could make use of, however not only is it annoying to get them to their full power but it also puts a limit on trading them due to Happiness resetting when traded. Stuff from bulbapedia
From: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Daisy_Oak#FireRed_and_LeafGreen From: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_groomer
18. It's pretty minor. Not to say it shouldn't be fixed, all bugs should be fixed so that the game is as polished as possible, but there are bigger things to worry about. From what I can tell it looks like it's caused because the original Fire Red maps don't extend far enough to fill up the full screen(Our PokeMMO screen shows more than a Gameboy Advance), and the game has an option called something that just repeats a texture for areas where no map exists. But since the bug has already been reported this thread is pointless, as is my responses Edit: If it scares and/or bothers you, find that option and turn it off via the settings menu.
19. If this is a legitimate bug and not due to a mod or something then it should be posted in Bug Reports.
20. Awesome, not sure if this is a confirmation of new NU(if added as described) being an actual balanced tier or just a shit-tier.
21. That's a good solution, however the original intent was to have Ubers, OU, UU, NU Other. I do like the idea of a box to tick or some other method of keeping the NU tier as it is, however that requires dev time. The easiest option would be just make a Other 'tier' in the tier list of the PokeDex and put them there, hence why I called it a tier.
22. Updated the title, that's more so what I was trying to say we add.
23. I like this system. Requires very little maintenance, is fair and keeps everything noteable in the tier visible. Like Kizhaz says, keeping some things around is necessary, but keeping Weedle/Kakuna around when we have Beedrill in the tier is pointless. This still leaves Magikarp(and possibly some other useless Pokemon) in the tier though, but you could still probably cut out a good portion of NU with these guidelines since some Pokemon (Nidos, Beedrill, Butterfree etc.) have two prevos in the same tier.
24. Should also be mentioned, as said in the post, I have no experience with NU. I, someone with no experience with the tier, was able to go through and pick out 121 (120 if shelgon is taken away, but more if I had all the dex entries) Pokemon that are worthless competitively, yet we have them grouped into a competitive tier.
