It was because so many people complained about how easy it was to simply dominate NPC battles. So the change that occured was this. They also switch Pokemon in and out which can throw the simpler players (the people that play old school pure offense, fuck defense)off completely. Best to just diversify your Pokemon movesets.

Johto being implemented would require Kanto being completely overhauled to match Johto storyline wise (such as Pokemon Tower in Lavender being changed into Radio Tower etc etc.). Also, they would have to basically code the entire game of Gold/Silver/Crystal into GBA format which I'm pretty sure they can't do. IF they were to borrow the DS coding, that also means lots of coding and re-writing which I'm pretty sure they don't have the skills to do. Johto most likely will not be implemented because they don't have the experience necessary to accomplish such a feat.

Do you fail to realize how many other games you have played that you have most likely put so many hours into and don't even play anymore? I find the new breeding system great. It effectively changes the entire way breeding is approached and comprehended. No longer are the days of literally EVERYONE being able to breed a 5x31 or 6x31 within a few hours. The one negative downside to this is the ignorance of the community. All you 4chans, 9gags, tumblrs, whatever you autistic faggots are.
