  1. Cooldown is there for a reason. Personally I think that 6 hours is a bit excessive, but a cooldown of some sort is still necessary to stop botting.
  2. http://www.legendarypokemon.net/javacalc.html This is the one I always use. Let's you check for multiple levels too.
  3. I had a feeling they would do this. I actually think it's a good idea. Most serious players have pokedollars to burn at this stage. If you could buy coins normally then you would just be straight up buying pokemon/TMs. This way would make getting the prizes much more difficult, increasing the value of the TMs in the game corner (since you can catch all of the pokes that are prizes bar porygon). More valuable pokemon as prizes would be nice though.....
  4. You should only need to go though victory road once or twice to clean up all of the items. After that, the exit room at the Indigo Plateau end is enough for finding pokemon. What other reason would you possibly have for going back through the whole cave? I don't really see the point to this suggestion.
  5. Very exploitable. Even with the alterations made to the suggestion, this sounds like it would be too much work to implement for the payoff it would give.
  6. https://docs.google....X1Nlc2owSXpOd1E Updated the list. Each tm now has the time it took me to get to it during a run I did today. It should be noted that I took the time to get eevee, hitmonchan/lee, and the fossil pokes as well as losing to 2 gym leaders on account of my pokemon loafing around and fainting. If I'd done the run just to get the tms and nothing else (as well as if i'd done the run before), I would have been faster. I've done my best to time everything as accurately as possible, but the times listed should be considered as aprroximates.
  7. Thank you, that will be very helpful. It will also make things an aweful lot quicker than I imagined. People in that thread are quoting 1.5 hours for earthquake which is a massive difference from how long it would take on a non speedrun playthrough.
  8. I might do a run through on an alt soon so I can get myself the other starters/one off pokemon etc... I could add in how long it took me to get each tm on the playthrough into that spreadsheet. If anyone else is doing a run through as well we can average the times to get a better idea of how long it takes.
  9. Exactly. The point of this suggestion is an alternative to creating a new account to farm tms. If you could only get one more copy of a tm via this method it would defeat the purpose entirely.
  10. Something like that, yes. We need to balance it so that using this method to aqquire tms is just slightly quicker than making an alternate account and getting them the normal way. So the ones at the bottom like the ones available at pewter and cerulan can be fairly common as it would only take a new account less than an hour to get them. The ones at the top like earthquake and fireblast should be rare enough that it would take you a few hours to farm one on average, as that's how long it will take to get it the conventional way.
  11. Just in case anyone is wondering, the TMs missing from my list are the ones that are renewable ingame, and as such, don't need this system to become renewable.
  12. Sorry about that. Changed the settings, try it now. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ao3Y_y3CJZYSdENTU0Y1U0lkTExoX1Nlc2owSXpOd1E
  13. Took the TM list and re-ordered it so that they're in the order you obtain them ingame. Now all we have to is sepparate them into tiers (and possibly re-order some of them based on their usefullness). https://docs.google....X1Nlc2owSXpOd1E
  14. Well I think we can all agree that this is a good idea. All that's left is to flesh it out. I think if we're going to make a tier list for tms we should assume that they're all obtainable in the fashion they were in the original games. As has been said already, the one off tms that you get at the end of the game are going to be more valuable than the one-offs you get at the start. With this in mind, making a tier list should be as simple as going through the game's tm list and arranging all of the one-off tms in the order they can be aqquired. That should give us a good starting point at least.
  15. I approve of this idea. Makes it much easier to organise things than having to scour your boxes after the fact, picking out the good pokes and pruning the rest.
