  1. he'll just bring out his 6x31 ludicolo... see your point going invalid?
  2. The way I see this update now after reading through a lot of the opinions: It is in effect an attempt at a slow wipe as the devs hoping everyone uses their 31s to sacrifice for breeding, however, that would not happen, i can hardly see anyone using up TWO of their 31s to get ONE back, and even if they do... they still have a 3x+ 31 comp to bring in to the competitive scene, which puts newer players at the big disadvantage in time and money consumed to breed their comp team. You say market will heal over time... did you consider HOW MUCH TIME?! I think it will be around the time Pokemmo has half or less its current playerbase as people rage quit, or just tire out from senseless grinding and money spending to get their comp team. Again I bring up the point of why is it an issue to have good quality pokemon available for everyone? I seriously don't get it, the only reason that comes to mind is that the only way to keep people playing PokeMMO is by making it more of a grindMMO so that they have something to do other than battling (breeding and catching wilds) and that is a very wrong approach and sorry to say a lazy one... you could instead improve the quality of gameplay by adding new content,, doing more creative events and so on. And sure you want to make breeding slightly more demanding but not in this form for crying out loud, specially not after a year or more of a much more lenient system, because as I said, I dont see anyone using up their pre-update comps in this breeding system, and add to that the issues with breeding more complex comps like those mentioned in this thread. IF the devs are really going to ignore the vast majority of the player base (75% of it according to the poll thread), then AT LEAST bring more ways to support this change, many of which mentioned here such as better wild poke IVs, egg-moves purchase, cheaper braces (maybe possibility of using 2 braces instead of 1?) and perhaps a way to make hp's better determined by the player (give possibility to control the ivs with certain limitations... i dunno...) No one has yet to answer the question of why having good quality pokemon available at reasonable prices and in the market is a bad thing for the economy. IF the devs still see that it is a must to make sure folks don't have easy access to good quality pokemon, then simply adjust the roll chances (to reasonable %age of course) maybe make it so the chance of having a 6x31 is two, or three times less likely than a shiny encounter, this way they will be rare, but not non-existent. I am one of those sad to see this update being implemented, and will most likely fill my little free time in my busy schedule with something other than senseless grinding without hope of catching up to others in PokeMMO. In the end, I thank the devs for their work and effort to keep the game balanced, but this sink they decided on is a step in the wrong direction, everyone does mistakes, and I hope they fix this one before it's too late.
  3. Most of what the pro-update folks talk about is screwed up economy because of the "old breeding system"... why is the economy bad? because you can buy a comp for 200k? or can buy a 5x31 for 800k-1mil? That's bad a thing? The game already has limited resources for money and even if gold is abundant, what is wrong with people being able to buy decent IVed pokes at a "cheap" rate? Would that not support both new players and old ones? new players can make around 300-900k from their first run of the game if they know what they're doing depending on what items they sell/keep, that is enough starting money with the old system to put them on the track to start developing an entire team (using egg group breeders) and put them on the competitive scene! Why is it the low quality pokemon being sold at a higher price being thought of as a good economy? A good economy is one that gives a fair chance for everyone to engage in all aspects of the community! I'm honestly confused why they don't want high quality IVs on the scene? if anything is makes the competitive scene more revolved around skill than IVs (and someone here already explained how 25 ivs is A LOT different than 31). To sum up, good IVs at affordable prices is a good economy and vise versa! so keep the current system, no need to nerf it anyway. And this is coming from a player who is sorta new to pokemmo (i played a few months ago before the common appearances of multiple 31s, and had to start above the scratch by a couple ladders to breed... only to be demotivated by this nasty "update") This update is like a slow wipe, its like the devs finding a loop hole in their promise to not do a wipe.
  4. Ok so at first I was like "They just completely ruined the game", but then I was like "hmmm... MAAAAAAYBEEEE... it's not that bad and actually somewhat better". I share many of the concerns that other players who do not like this upcoming breeding update, and I also add my own concern to the list, I'm worried on how the prices for breeders would be like... are they going to be more expensive due to their reducing population, or are they going to become cheaper due to the fact they're a one time use only. To be honest after I came back to the game from quitting a few months ago, I was happy to see more 31s at a much more affordable prices, because i'm more of a PVP person than a breeder, and wouldn't mind if everyone has 6x31s and we bash out at tourneys, but the problem with pokemmo is if you take away breeding there's rarely anything else you can do that you can't do on battle simulators... I was hoping the next update will balance out the breeding slightly or just stay as it is now. If the economy is not going to be blown to pieces and pokes with high ivs climb up to the millions, then I think this would be still workable. I'm not happy about it now, but I will try it out before deciding to move on to some other mmo until the devs break it there as well, since that seems to be a common occurrence in this industry Also I support the idea of having wild pokes getting better IVS instead of random, maybe set the minimum at 15 per iv or something
