  1. I purposed something similar as yours, and RacheLucario has enlightened me on the side effects of such a feature. (Thanks for the shout out btw)
  2. Hello sir, I hope you enjoy your stay!
  3. Welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy your stay!
  4. I suggested Gift Shinies, but that thread got locked due to it being an economic burden. I mean, we can have both, but if possible, nerf the Reward Points down to 900, then you'll have my support on that front. So in total, you can have both 900 Reward Points and 5,000 Battle Points.
  5. Cap, we are still friends, but I don't control what is on or off my suggestions (to be honest, I had a good chuckle when I saw your post). The moderators would like an argument with substance rather than sarcasm. I am not doing this for the fame, I am doing this because I feel that there should be a reward instead of a diploma. I remember breaking my back with completing the dex (on the GBA games) and I was upset when the guys at Game Freak Tower gave me a diploma. That's why I am purposing a change (although I would still like a Diploma in my Secret Base). If you guys don't mind, I am going to comment to both of your posts. Reward points is not a bad idea, but economically speaking, its not good for the people who sell Reward Points. How about people who earn their reward points by winning an official? What happens if they want to sell their RP for in game profit? I mean its a good idea, but it needs to be tweaked a little, perhaps 900 Reward Points instead of 1k or 1.5k.
  6. That's true, but its still good to have Battle Points on hand.
  7. People who need some competitive items like Life Balls or Choice bands or Base decorators.
  8. True, but its not easy to get 5,000 Battle Points from the Battle Frontier unless you have a heavy hitter and a tank in your team. Most people in this game are not comp like us, so this would be a more "tangible" reward for people who don't want to work (competitively) for their Battle Points and instead earn them via completing the Caught OT dex.
  9. That's the point I am trying to convey, I don't want to damage the economy, so I am purposing something that will get the job done.
  10. Completed OT Dex = Gain 5k BP + 50k + 900RP + Special Vanity Item I was thinking about something that wouldn't damage the economy, but at the same time, could only be temporary. The Master Ball should be saved for the "Owned" part of the dex because there is no monetary gain in keeping the ball, however, Battle points, Reward Points, and a Special Vanity Item are in my view nice rewards. People can buy secret base items for their bases in Hoenn, buy a decent vanity item with 900 Reward Points, pay some of their breeding expenses, and a Special Vanity Item that would lock into the person's account. Possible Questions 1. How do you obtain the Battle Points, PokeYen, Reward Points, and Special Vanity Item? Answer 1: After you complete the OT dex, go to the Game Freak Building in Celadon City or Lilycove Hotel and talk to either one of these guys.... Possible Script: "I am the game designer. Oh my, you completed the "OT" part of the Pokedex! I want to give you somethings I acquired myself!" Obtained 5000 Battle Points, Obtained 50,000, Obtained 900 Reward Points, Obtained [Special Vanity Item] Closing statement: "Enjoy your bundle package!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Can this feature break the economy? Answer 3: I wouldn't think so since 5k Battle Points is not that much, 50k PokeYen is a nice chunk, but not good enough, 900 Reward Points is still a lot, but it doesn't endanger those who sell Reward Points, and the Special Vanity Item is going to be locked into your character, so you cannot sell it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall Summary I was contemplating on a bundle of rewards that wouldn't break the economy. I don't think this reward will break the economy, but my bundle package is quite a nifty reward. Hats are off for people who completed the OT dex.
  11. People sometimes buy two to six shinies for a "dream team." This wouldn't taint the economy for shiny traders since they cannot sell their locked shiny on trade chat nor global trade link. Now, I am not saying "everyone" has two to three dream shinies, but the point I am trying to convey is that a lot people have at least two to three dream shinies. Your making the argument that most people dream about one shiny. That's fair from true.
  12. What happens if you have 2 or 3 dream shinies? I mean, some people only have one dream shiny. I don't want to release names, but there are a few players that say that they have a "shiny wishlist."
  13. It won't break the economy since its locked once turned shiny, so I wouldn't be concerned.
  14. I support my suggestion, but at the same time, if I had to choose a way I would win a shiny, I would rather win a tournament. However, some of the player base that are apathetic to tournaments, they can turn one of their pokes into a shiny by completing the "Caught OT" dex.
  15. On the contrary, your name would be plastered all over forums and there would be no public "glory" in filling out the dex. To be honest, I would rather win a tournament and obtain a shiny that way, than completing the OT dex.
  16. Completed OT Dex = Turn one of your pokes into a Gift Shiny I am going to start off this suggestion by asking one simple question, "what is better than a Master Ball, a ball that catches without fail?" I have the answer for you in this suggestion, turn one of your party pokemon into a Gift Shiny. Since the shinies are Gifts, that shiny will be locked onto your character. Its quite difficult completing the "Caught OT" dex as you can see in this screenshot, I only have 66 registered as "Caught OT." I truly applaud those who completed this part of the dex! Possible Questions 1. Where can you turn your party pokemon into Gift Shinies? Answer 1: After you complete the dex, go to the Game Freak Building in Celadon City or Lilycove Hotel in Lilycove City and talk to either one of these NPCs. Possible Script: "I am the game designer. Oh my, you completed the "Caught OT" part of the Pokedex! Not many people can complete this formidable task, but you sure did! As a reward, I would like to have the honour of turning one of your pokemon into a shiny. Which Pokemon do you want as a shiny?" (There will be a box to choose a pokemon from your party kind of like this one....) After he turns the pokemon of your choice into a shiny, he will finish his script with this closing sentiment: "In my view, you are a bright trainer. Keep up the good work [in game name]!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Could this break the economy? Answer 2: Since the shinies are locked into your character, I highly doubt they could break the economy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Can you get a second gift shiny (one from Kanto and one from Hoenn)? Answer 3: I wouldn't think so, but that's up to the developers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall Summary This part of the dex is a lot more complicated than just registering random pokemon in your dex. I feel that this reward is justified for all the hard work put into this task. Hats off to those individuals who took the time and effort to complete this part of the dex!
  17. Earning a Master Ball for completing the Owned PokeDex I was chatting with someone and we were discussing the PokeDex. To his credit, he came up with this idea about earning a reward for completing the PokeDex. We were throwing around some ideas from a monetary reward to items. We wanted a reward that would make the general player base excited and we concluded that a Master Ball should be given. Due to this person not wanting the spotlight, he asked me to make the suggestion for him, but I am going to add to it a little. The Master Ball can be awarded to those who complete the "Owned" part of the PokeDex. I would like to suggest something epic for the "Caught OT" dex that's a well deserved gift given to you by the game (a gift that's in my opinion, even better than the Master Ball). Possible Questions 1. How do you obtain the master ball? Answer 1: After you complete the dex, go to the Game Freak Building in Celadon City or Lilycove Hotel in Lilycove City and talk to these NPCs. Possible Script: "I am the game designer. Oh my, you completed the "Owned" part of the Pokedex! We programmed this reward in the game for you, enjoy it!" Obtained the MASTER BALL -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Can the Master Ball be obtained twice (one in Kanto and one in Hoenn)? Answer 2: It would be nice, but it depends on the overall opinion of the PokeMMO developers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Can this feature break the economy? Answer 3: Since this item is going to be "locked" in your bag, you shouldn't have to worry about a broken economy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall Summary A completed PokeDex Owned or Caught OT is quite difficult to complete. I thank the player I was chatting with for giving me this idea to suggest. I plan to make another suggestion about what item to reward the players who completed the "Caught OT" edition of the PokeDex.
  18. To be quite honest, my worst moment was when I was first debuting on YouTube. At first, when I was commentating on Noad's dailies, I was not as bright about the competitive scene. As I started commentating more and more officials, I was starting to know the mechanics and how things work. I like to look at some of my previous works just to laugh at the newb YouTuber back in 2014.
  19. I would rather see a higher appearance rate. I would say approximately a 10% percent encounter rate which is still quite low, but still obtainable. A combo of my ways of implementation would be a bit confusing to some people. Preferably, I would like just one way to obtain the Johto starters because it would cause less confusion. If I had to choose one alternative from the four given, I would pick alternative one because completing the elite 4 in both regions is a pretty straight forward concept.
  20. I appreciate hearing your feedback. I would like to address your concerns: 1. I would assume you have a high IQ. People who understand how the breeding system works are quite intellegent. Your smarter than the average person on this note. 2. If something is unbalanced in the Donor Status, the devs can always tweak it a little. I think there should be a little buff in wild catches and breeding results, that's all I am asking for. 3. People quit this game partly because they can't understand what good and bad breeders are. I tell people that there are natures and IVs to look out for, but people I talk to do a couple of options: 1. Tell me how difficult it is to find the right pokemon. 2. Ask me to do the breeding for them (which I am not doing). 3. Get upset and tell me this is the last time I'll see them in game. (The list goes on) 4. Are you not trusting the developers to tweak the donor status a little so that way we can catch pokemon with good IVs and at the same time, not ruining the economy as a whole? 5. My selfish self is telling me that we shouldn't change anything so that way I can sell my 5x31 male Ampharos, but I don't want to be selfish, so I made this suggestion so that way other people can have a shot in breeding up a good pokemon as well. As of right now, many people buy donor status to sell it in trade chat for a profit. If you go on the Global Trade Link, there are a ton of donor status envelopes for sale. I would assume that having a slight buff to the donator status ticket could make people use it a lot more than they do now. Here is proof that I have a 5x31 Ampharos Male breeder
  21. Lets not malign each other here, this is a debate. Let me recite each of your points one-by-one: 1. I am going to answer some of your anecdotal claims. - I do release that people in my team do not represent the general population of PokeMMO at large. Your claim is that I have no friends, how would you know? Did you see me go to the movies? I wonder if you saw my car at McDonald's, on a serious note, you don't know me either so don't encourage others to stereotype me. - I realise that my friends (I thought you said I have no friends) are not a generalised depiction of society. Each person comes from a different background. - I don't need to go on because this point is completely anecdotal and not pertinent to my proposal. 2. I did address a counter claim in my suggestion, I'll quote it for you. - Not only have I addressed one counter claim that your are mentioning, but I have taken the time to respond to each person accordingly and addressed their concerns. - I assume in the marketplace, its going to work beautifully. You can breed for people and sell pokemon and your product could be sold (and no reward points needed). Keep the old system, but also put a new system in. Since people might buy the new donor status, its going to pressure the breeders to lower down their prices, which is good for most players who want to purchase cheep breeders to the point where good breeders can cost 100k - 300k instead of 300k - 700k. This is good for not only people like myself who could watch the prices go down, but I think that a lower price tag is obtainable. If you want to go old school and start breeding that way, that's fine. - Since you mentioned an anecdote, now its time for me to mention why I was not wanting to make this suggestion. I have a 5x31 male Ampharos, if I was selfish as you set me out to be, than I wouldn't of even taken the time to make this suggestion. I wanted to do what was right and all I got was flack for decreasing the price of my expensive breeder I plan to sell one day. Proof: 3. I communicated with most donor users and they like the benefits and not the actual meaning to the name. - How would what I am purposing ruin the market? If anything, it would make goods more accessible to newer players. I don't care if you do it the old fashioned way (like my Ampharos) or if you buy the new donor status, you'll still be able to contribute to the marketplace as a whole. I checked GTL and most things are extremely overpriced, I think its time to change this. - The market is probably going to at worst, have a slight price drop in the breeding department, but the breeding department itself has its own "Supply and Demand" system. If people want Blastoise, breeders breed Blastoise and sell it on trade chat. Breeders can adapt to change. "Your idea is going life-> guys who p2p get new get insta comps-> they sell them and make profit from that ->p2p are rich, f2p are poor Your idea is going life-> guys who p2p get new get insta comps-> they sell them for low prices because market is overflooded -> breeders can't make money via breeding anymore -> rich stay rich, p2p are rich, f2p can't make money this way" (Qaztin). 4. I am going to ask, why do you keep making stereotypes of me? Is it enthralling to see me debating you in a negative light? I mean most people I debate do not tell me how I would think. You don't know me and I don't know you. - I would think the developers might try to tame down this feature a little so it won't interfere with the economy. - Rich stay rich, hasn't that always happened? JoshLindsay is a rich player and he can stay rich because he is not investing in competitive play. I try my best to acquire as many comps as I can, but I also know that most players are much wealthier than me. 5. How would you know about the developers intentions for the pay day mechanic? You love turning your perceptions into facts. I am not going to say that pay day is going to decrease, but it might remain the same because there would be a ton of economic prosperity and more things to buy instead of more in game money to grind for (which in turn would increase the player population). 6. Its unbalanced, the developers can balance out the donor status to make sure it doesn't interfere with the game economics if needbe. 7. So your going with the approach of "we don't care about students, let them quit and play showdown." PokeMMO is a game with a wide demographic of college students, but also your missing a key point, why not try to appeal to all demographics instead of people who have all the time in the world and can log into the game. Escentually, your making PokeMMO more of a "quit college and play this" type of game than "continue college and we can make it easier for you to fit us in your tight schedule." 8. This is a common stereotype and its downright wrong, I communicate with every newer player I can find and poll them just for fun. I asked them if they would like to quit the game after the story is completed or go into another field of the game? About 80% of them tell me that they want to find some direction to go to after the story and about 15% of them mentioned your point of "quitting after the story" and 5% have no idea. 9. That analogy is not coherent to my point. I am not saying that I want the developers to give every person who receives reward points a guaranteed comp or shiny. Here is a analogy of our debate, its like I would like to give you one egg and you stated that I wanted to give you a dozen eggs. 10. You forgot one of my points I mentioned on an earlier post, I am okay with EV training and levelling. EV training does not need vitamins that go +50 EVs, but I think there should be a remedy to the breeding problem instead of the EV training. Good evening Matoka, its a pleasure hearing from you, let me address your concerns: - This is a preference, but this would capitalise the usage of the Donor Status instead of selling and reselling it. - This is a stereotype of newer players. I've taken this claim head on, most newer players would like a new direction to go to in PokeMMO after their done with the story instead of cutting PokeMMO like cold turkey and running. - Most people I polled are like you in that they want to live and learn instead of doing PokeMMO for the story and quitting afterwards. They want to go for shinies or breed for competitive pokemon or comps, but they tell me that breeding is way too complicated.
  22. Legally, body armour is not allowed, only police are allowed to wear armour. No matter how much armour the guy has, he might forget for a brief second that he is wearing armour and he'll act as if he has no armour.
  23. I do have a Gameboy colour, but I hardly use it. I use a GBA with the bright light screen to play some of my old Gameboy colour games. My childhood gaming experience was the opposite of yours, my first system I ever had was a Nintendo 64 and my second system was the Game Boy Advanced. (I picked up the Gameboy colour just for a collector's item)
  24. Or he can point a gun and have that guy run and scream some profanities like a little girl and Kaynine can become the hero!
