  1. None of you seem to have read my first post. :P Magcargo isn't a water type and can't learn surf, so he doesn't meet requirement 2. *looks up Magikarp's speed stat* Oh, I was wrong, that does actually work... I take back my earlier statement about nobody reading my post. Huh. Well, I guess that makes about as much sense as Magikarp following you ever makes. I said "Speed stat over 100," which takes everything into account... EVs, level, etc. So yes, you could EV-train a shiny who wouldn't otherwise be able to follow you on bike, just so it would be able to follow you. Only if it's really high level and has some EV training; it's really hard to get Caterpie up to 100 Speed. At that point, yes, I expect it can.
  2. I often find myself running instead of biking, just so I can have my favorite Pokemon following behind me. Then I realized that, although they didn't do it in the Game Boy games, that's totally something you could do for the MMO. Would it look silly? Not if it was a Rapidash. You could limit it to Pokemon with a Speed stat over 100 (or maybe even higher, like 150) so that it makes visual sense. Finally, you could even allow a Pokemon to follow in the water, under the following conditions: 1) It's not the Pokemon you're currently riding on with surf. 2) It's either ( a ) a water type or ( b ) can learn surf. I think that covers every Pokemon that can be caught while surfing or fishing, but if not, add them in too. What do people think? Wouldn't it be cool to have your Pokemon running behind you as you bike, or swimming behind you as you surf?
  3. I've been out of town this past week, but will be more active in-game shortly.
  4. Cool, I'll friend you if I see you. :) I'm Zetan, in game, so that's easy enough.
  5. Magmar and Electabuzz are both 5% encounter rate; if it's hard to get the parent, it's hard to get the child. For Jynx, you just have to trade a Poliwhirl, which is easy to come by. Clefairy is in the Game Corner for super cheap. And Jigglypuff is a 10% encounter rate.
  6. Great! Kababs and TheAnt, when are you typically on? What are your in-game names? I can meet you there and send you an invite tonight, if you're around.
  7. Finally finished my EW/Rare box; screenshot updated.
  8. I didn't know about Castform... just finding out now that they all got changed into Illumise the next day, so I can't trade for any. That sucks... oh, well. And yeah, I just noticed that a lot of otherwise rare Pokémon are available in the game corner. I've removed them all from the list and updated my qualifications to include that. Thanks for the info!
  9. Thanks so much! And thank you for creating your guide, it has been very helpful in my ongoing Pokédex quest. :D Hope you don't mind me linking to it.
  10. Endangered/Rare Pokémon For purposes of my own collection, I have decided that once I have two of every EW Pokémon, I will collect two of every Pokémon that I consider difficult to obtain for one reason or another. These are the qualifications I'm personally using (feel free to create your own qualifications for your own collection): Pokémon that can be obtained once through an event do not count if that Pokémon can be bred to create all of its evolved forms. For example, you get one Eevee for free in the game, and you can breed it to create all the Eevee you want (and evolve them into all the different forms you want) so it doesn't count. Similarly, when you get either Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan, you can breed it and eventually get the other one. Any Pokémon whose encounter rate is 5% or less in all locations it can be found counts. Anything that is part of a limited event and will probably eventually be EW (see list at https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/13227-❈-the-ultimate-pokémon-guide-❧final-edition-❈-kanto-region-being-remade-again/?p=182577 ) is higher priority (and this is the distinction between Endangered and Rare), but I will try to keep two of any Pokémon with a low encounter rate, such as Chansey or Skarmory, as these are more difficult to catch in the wild than they are to breed. Pokémon available for purchase at the Game Corner do not qualify, regardless of encounter rate or cost. The slots are pretty easy, go play for a while and you can buy anything you'd like. This is my current list of what I consider Endangered/Rare. If you notice anything I have missed (keeping in mind the qualifications above) please let me know. Note that I am listing the lowest evolution of each. Endangered: Relicanth Lunatone Absol Bagon Aron Mawile Rare: Elekid Magby Skarmory Chansey Mantine Larvitar
  11. Current EW Pokémon Squall maintains a list of EW Pokémon here: https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/13227-❈-the-ultimate-pokémon-guide-❧final-edition-❈-kanto-region-being-remade-again/?p=182576 You can also see the List of Available Pokémon and Ctrl+F for "Not currently in the wild" to find them there, assuming people have kept that list up to date. That list is here: http://pokemmo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Available_Pokémon I'll also try to keep a list up to date here, but the lists above might update quicker than mine: "Extinct in the Wild" Pokémon Carvanha Cacnea Girafarig Feebas Snorunt Spheal Lotad Shroomish Plusle Minun Roselia Spoink
  12. How to Join If you happen to catch me (IGN Zetan) or any members online, you can just ask and get invited. If you can't seem to catch me on at the same time as you, send me a PM and we can try to work out a time to meet.
  13. Benefits of Membership Members will get first dibs on any Pokémon I can help them with. I haven't quite built up my own collection yet, but when I do, I'll help out members before others. Yes, this technically means you could join, take advantage of all the Pokémon I have to offer, then leave before contributing anything, but I hope you won't do that. It would be very uncool of you, and your beautiful completed Pokédex would be forever tarnished with your guilt. Okay, maybe it isn't quite that dramatic, but seriously, don't be a jerk. If you join, please try to contribute back to the community.
  14. Requirements for Joining To join, you must maintain a pair of as many EW Pokémon as you can get your hands on. If you like, you can also keep a pair of any other rare (and "Endangered") Pokémon, but I won't ask everyone to do that. Whenever a friendly person (especially a fellow teammate) needs such a Pokémon, give that person one, then stick the other in the Daycare with a Ditto. Once they make an egg, hatch it, then return the new pair to your box, ready for the next person in need. Don't give out your Pokémon to beggars, though; you'll only encourage them. Just pay attention and when you see someone talking about their Pokédex without being annoying or spamming others to ask for something, see if you can help them out. Example of my EW/Rare box:
