If you mean to use the original parent pokemon on option 1 after already using them for option 2 multiple times, that should be acceptable because the option 2 children would follow option 2 rules and be as if they didn't exist to the rest of the playerbase. Otherwise, if something was born through option 2, its children (and its children's children, and its children's children's children, etc.) would not be tradable or usable in tourneys/comps, regardless of breeding option choice.

The point would be having a good pokemon only for yourself, and PVE if you don't care about comp/tourneys. The untradable rule is to keep the economy in balance.

I think you may have misunderstood :) The point was that a pokemon created through option 2 will have its children (and their children's children...) either restricted to option 2 or just not allowed to be traded or usable in comps/tourneys regardless of option choice.

That would be my only worry :) I think maybe a lot of people in this thread don't understand it completely, or don't like the concept of someone not interested in comps/tourneys. Either way, thank you for your feedback.

The main point of option 2 is so that it is NOT tradable or usable in comp, thus keeping the need to use option 1 for trading and comp.

Not everyone wants to do tournaments, some people would like to have a good pokemon to use in PVE. This game isn't just a tournament version of WoW's current raid-or-die style gameplay.

I understand the economical problems, but what else was the problem with cloning pokemon before?

Maybe some people misunderstood. Under my suggestion, both options are available which means you can still do what you currently do (i.e. breed comps).

Here is my suggestion for having 2 possible breeding options that can be chosen before every breeding session: (The point is to have BOTH options available, not just one of them) OPTION 1 (current method) Parents [LOSE] Tradable [YES] Tournament/Comp [YES] Reasoning: Use in tournaments/comps and trading. OPTION 2 (requested method) Parents [KEEP] Tradable [NO] (applies to ALL future children and their children's children, and so on...) Tournament/Comp [NO] (applies to ALL future children and their children's children, and so on...) Reasoning: Have no interest in doing tourneys/comp. Untradable for economical reasons.
