  1. Ill admit I didnt know that you gained any time at all during the battle when I posted this. I participated in the tournament too but did not noticed any time change on my clock, probably because of the lag.
  2. That's your opinion. He wasnt calculating damage between moves. And he wasnt even asking teammates for advice. In my opinion he didnt have enough time. Not to mention the extreme amount of lag during an official event would drain 10 seconds out of most player's connections.
  3. Well the caves have always been the most difficult part of Pokemon games for me because I have dyslexia.. I need a map every time even though Ive been playing these games for almost 20 years. It would be easier on me as a veteran player too so I dont have to go back and forth between a walk through map and PokeMMO.
  4. Right now the battle timer is a set 3:00 total for the entire battle and does not reset between moves. My suggestion is to reset the timer to 3:00 after EACH MOVE, not for the ENTIRE battle. During official tournaments you need time to think, plan and strategize. A teammate of mine just lost his match in the 2nd round of an official tournament for timing out, and there was no clear winner yet in his match. Each person still had 4 pokemon at full health left. My teammate had less than 30 seconds left on his clock with 4 full health pokemon left. Even if he could make every move in 1 second for the remainder of the battle, he still would have timed out near the end. Three minutes is not much time to ask for between moves and will keep the integrity of the AFK timer intact. It will also give plenty of time to plan or strategize your next move. And the most important part: you wont time out in the middle of an intense battle!
  5. IGN: WolfgangDamien why did my post say :49 I posted it at :50!
  6. its just one more little thing people can do for fun lol i dont expect everyone to do it because it could never be as lucrative as being a breeder, a fossil hunter, or normal vs seeker battler. For me its more of a "what do I feel like doing to make a little money today?" situation
  7. For pretty much every pokemon game, you have always needed to buy a Walkthrough Guide to get through caves, or google the maps online nowadays. My suggestion is to create new maps pages in-game for caves and sell them in-game for PokeYen or maybe even Battle Points. The pages will be added to your current Town Map feature in extra pages like the Sevii Islands. You could have an NPC near every cave entrace selling "Guide Books" for the cave youre about to enter. You could makes Guide Book a fairly large amount so that new players still have to attempt to solve the cave on their own, with an option to buy it when they return to the cave at a later date. Or dont? I bet new players would love the be able to buy a Guide Book to get through the cave without having to go outside of the game to find information. I think having these new Guide Books as an in-game feature would also boost another under-utilized career field in PokeMMO, as a Cave Tour Guide. A few times Ive guided newbies through caves for a small fee of 1k while using a walkthrough map myself. If a Guide Book is too expensive, people could offer this service as a cheaper alternative, and get rid of a lot of people ever going outside of PokeMMO for information. For example, if a single Guide Book was 25k, I could buy one for myself and open a new Tour Guide Service outside of that tunnel, once Ive guided 25 people, Ive made my money back and started profitting, and a Tour Guide group could be as large as I can attract. I like finding new "career fields" in PokeMMO, it adds to the experience and fun when you have creative options to make money other than a daily grind. Makes me feel more immersed in the pokemon world.
  8. Actually I think this would be fairly simply to make, you just swap out the current bike image with a new one triggered by the night time cycle. Theyve got a lot of things triggered by the time cycle right now, and adding lights to the current bike image wouldnt take much effort. This would be a neat little addition! I just recently noticed all the windows in buildings have lights on at night, this is in the same realm as that I think =3
  9. I think it would be really cool to have ranking systems to compare with the rest of the players! Id love to see this gateway into PVP rankings and more. I really like your idea of it resetting each month to give new / more people a fighting chance too!
  10. Im not sure if this is really a suggestion or a bug report? Its a game mechanic issue really. Im aware that this is a normal thing that happens, but its really annoying. While playing in the Battle Frontier, the little dialog boxes that appear, while characters are talking, while being healed, and the "Link standby..." constantly kicks you from the typing box in Chat. Linked battles require constant communication with your partner for direction, so this is just really frustrating to be typing a message to my link partner and get kicked every few seconds, cant even finish typing a single word sometimes, because a sprite on screen is shouting nonsense or the game is waiting on my link partner to catch up. My "suggestion" is to see if theres a way to keep this from happening, purely in the Battle Frontier is all thats needed. No need to rewrite the whole game if this single area can be focused on.
  11. Its tiled images. A tile image is designed to repeat, but in pokemon you have always been able to see where a tiled image starts and stops, so simply using a darker shade of the same green grass tiles is all that would REALLY need to be done. Unless an artist out there WANTS to make a new image. And creating one tile image for grass would take less than an hour, including the animation, because right now grass animation is only 2 frames long. Creating a new tiled image for a patch literally is no more difficult than going into photoshop with the current tile, and adjusting the Hue to be a bit darker, and resaving the image with a new file name. This takes 2 clicks. I have a degree in graphic design. Implementing the patches is the harder part. New code would have to be written and some fiddling with maps, but after the North Pole event, they probably already have this code made up and ready to copy & paste it into place. If they can design a patch of grass in-game to be so many tiles wide, so many tiles tall, and single tile patches, it shouldnt be too much harder to put in these new dark patches visually. Having the code activate when you step into these tiles isnt too much more work than a normal code that makes pokemon appear in grass. Dont make a project too hard on yourself :P
  12. Just a simple suggestion. At the moment, none of the items you can buy for Secret Bases have a preview image before you buy it. Every other item in-game has a preview except for these items. With as expensive as these items are, and their only purpose is to be visually appealing, it would be really nice to see them before we buy! :)
  13. I dont know if you really need to create NEW tiles... just recolor grass patches you already have to be visibly darker. That legit takes 2 clicks in photoshop lol
  14. Oya I forgot about that part. The tall grass would be cool though. And other areas where you can do double battles.
  15. I think I can agree with Pereiraa. The percentages of encounter rates arent really... needed?, and should flux. Or, atleast have an appearance of fluxuation. Which I think is part of what they meant when they said its not for this style of MMO. Its kinda of hard to explain other than it takes away from the "whimsy" a bit, having to hunt and explore for pokemon. Im not sure if Im accurately explaining myself lol but I see where Pereiraa is coming from against a set-in-stone percentage being shown. I also agree we need something a little more specific than the current rates. My one specific example is Corsola. It says in common and ONLY found in Kanto. I have over 1000 hours in the game and I have fished all over kanto with a super rod. I have not ONCE encounctered a Corsola. I dont believe it is common. And its the first pokemon Ive had this problem with, but Im sure there are other examples.
  16. I dont know if every area should have a chance of 2 pokemon encountering, because this could be detrimental in the starting areas for really new players. But I definitely think adding areas like this in certain places, like the 2 safari zones, would be awesome! Maybe also in the really tall grass where you cant see your own head?
  17. I can see both sides of this issue where people who have too much BP would love to sell them to people who would like to buy them without grinding the BP. It would be a whole new commodity. But I feel like making BP tradeable kind of diminishes the Battle Frontier as its position as the biggest end-game feature with its own unique reward system. All items and tutor moves must be earned, giving them more than just monetary value but some status as well, you're far enough in the game and good enough to get these things. If you arent, you simply dont get them. I think a game needs aspects like this to keep end-game players interested and playing. If you could just buy absolutely everything after the e4, then theres no "end game," just grinding. The Battle Frontier and earning BP is exactly a challenge you have to stick around and do in order to make other end game features like breeding comps worth while. This is purely my opinion.
  18. I double-checked, they ARE the same image.
  19. Here you go I made a little example in MS paint. I also threw in a new ribbon for the Kanto Elite Four, because when I googled, I discovered the current ribbon image is specifically Hoenn's Elite Four ribbon.
  20. Its just a simple suggestion that would take 10 minutes to do if someone was bored.. not like I was demanding it be done NOW or even anytime soon. No need to be so negative.
  21. Right now both the GIFT and HALL OF FAME ribbons are the same image. My suggestion is simply to make them different, so we can tell at a glance the difference between a GIFT pokemon and a 'Hall of Fame'er. I like the different ribbons! I never saw a ribbon from the Battle Frontier until recently, and had assumed all ribbons were the same image.
  22. Thanks for all the suggestions!! I was afraid of too many water SP DEF walls because of the weakness to eletricity. You have given me a lot of really good suggestions. I think I know what Im gunna work on next. :)
  23. I dont know if there is a single pokemon with the HIGHEST SP DEF stat, but Im looking to make some new SP DEF walls for my comp team. I like all tiers so please include everything NU to OU please! Im looking for pokemon with AT LEAST 100 SP DEF. Thanks! So far these are the ones I know of: Venusaur - 100 Clamperl - 110 with DEEPSEASCALE Tentacruel - 120 Mantine- 140
  24. Or maybe it was overlooked because there was a bunch of insulting the mods and really ridiculous ideas like spending hundreds of thousands of dollars every week in order to heal because people dont understand the actual issues mods were pointing out.
