  1. This might be an extreem suggestion but I was wondering what do you think if we change the HM's a little bit so they become a little bit more usefull. I'm not even sure it's technical possible but just go with it for now. Replacing Flash Flash has always been an really intressting an special HM move in the pokémon world. Saidly enouge it doesn't provide a combat options for your pokémon making it really difficult to make the move usefull when you only have 4 moves for each pokémon available. Even the concept of Flash is nice. It just doesn't provide the things you expect from a move like that. That's why I want to suggest to replace the move HM05 by another move. In this suggestion I suggest to replace it by the TM move Dig. An move that opens a lot more options in both the map as competive use. But how about Flash than? Well flash get replaced by a key item namely "Lantern". This item will compleetly replace the function of flash outside combat. Rock Smash switches in Kanto To shake things up a little bit. The HM move Rock Smash will now be unlocked after beating the first gym. In Kanto you will now recieve the HM from an old man when you try to enter the first gym. This directly provides you an move help you battle Brock creating an really intressting opening & use for the first HM you get provided with. The position in Hoenn remains unchanged. The HM Dig In Kanto you can unlock the functionality of Dig after beating the 6th gym. That was the gym that previously unlocked Rock Smash for you. I suggest you now gain Dig on the moment you normaly recieve Rock Smash. For Hoenn you unlock Dig on the 2th gym as replacement for Flash. However to compensate you will get be provided with the HM a bit later in the game. Changing the function of Dig This suggestion is again technical questionable but it would be nice now Dig becomes an HM move the function also changes. My idea is that certain stairs in caves are collapsed & you now need dig to use them. To compensate for this change the pokémon move Teleport will now function as the old Dig when you are located in a building or a cave. You will still teleport to the last visited pokémon center when outside a building or cave. Escape Rope Because the Dig changes theoreticly this would make Escape Rope a more needed item in the game. So basicly we could reduce the price a little bit to compensate that. However in this ballance state of the game where Dig basicly isn't available for new players it's just a luxery change after all. How about TM28? Currently the TM28 Dig can be bought in the market of Viridian City. I suggest to replace it with another similar TM. I'm thinking about the move Mud Shot. Pro & Coins + An more functional HM move Better ballance overal Less HM slave centric pokémon More competive options for the HM - It's different compaired to the original pokémon games Might now be technical possible Their might be some issues for ballancing out the progress you make on the map. End This suggestion might not be a traditional as most other suggestions. It's not like we I even have confirmation if it's possible. Rom manipulation up to that level can be very tricky. I known changes like this are possible in a rom hack but their it's already really difficult to pull off. I'm not sure we have the tools to implement something complex like that or that anyone even like the idea in the first place. However if a change like this is possible it could be something that can seperate this game compaired to other pokémon MMO's. I currently can't come up with a ballance issue regarding a change but if their are. Just let me known. Discuss
  2. Why don't they make an item in the gift shop that transforms you pokémon into a shiny: Pokémon becomes untradeable No stats are changed
  3. I was suprised I didn't find a topic about this yet. I used the search engine but I didn't found one. It's probaly answered somewhere but we shall find out isn't it. ---- The Fairy type was introduced in Generation VI. With this changes 22 Pokémon and 3 moves were changed to be of the Fairy type. In the current state of the game the following pokémon will be effected by a change like this: The pokémon Pure Fairy-type Clefairy Clefable Cleffa Togepi Snubbull Granbull Primary Fairy-type Togetic Togekiss Secondary Fairy-type Jigglypuff Wigglytuff Mr. Mime Igglybuff Marill Azumarill Ralts Kirlia Gardevoir Azurill Mawile The moves Both Moonlight, Sweet Kiss and Charm will have not have any problems with this change since litterly the only thing that has been changed is the type. The battle properties Offensive 2x Dark Dragon Fight 1/2x Fire Poison Steel 0x None Defensive 1/2x Bug Dark Fight 2x Poison Steel 0x Dragon The moveset changes Most moveset has remain unchanged surprisingly so an actualy moveset change beside some new moves that we shouldn't even concider to implement yet. Conclusion The type can actualy be implemented easy based on the amount of changes that have to be implemented. The technical changes is however an different story. Discuss
  4. Have the dev concidered to expand the ways the ways to get money? * More npc's to rebattle, better rewards * Rock Smash loots * Have you concidered to make a way to make your own pokéballs? Collecting Apricorns, getting top & bottom parts in the shop. Than a special item to create the most unique pokéballs. The current system gave you 7 different ones. We could expand this by a lot like a pokéball that catches dragon pokémons better or a pokéball that change the genre of a pokémon. This kind of ball crafting could make money making fun again.
  5. If feel the problem with this is that players will use this to transfer Kanto pokémon to their Hoenn account but than again that's healthy right.
  6. Wasn't the main way to get Shards in higher generations of pokemon not smashing rocks with rock smash. I believe it was implemented in HG & SS. Why not implement that as an healthier alternative for farming shards. Or is this already implemented?
  7. I believe the current TM list is still used for the 3th generation so I fear it's not available yet. I believe Vulpix learns it naturaly.
  8. The images are located in the .pak files isn't it. Any program you recommand?
  9. So basicly, the amount of ways to get money is extreemly limited.
  10. Every game I tend to play I always check if their is a wikia available. This time I bounced against the Pokemon MMO wikia. This wikia is currently in a poor state. A lot of the information is outdated or is even false by false speculations. I think it's time todo something about it. It's not that simple to keep the content of a wikia up & running. But ones it's their you can do a lot with it. With has been improved slightly over the year with better mobile support. Finaly the mobile css is available for the mobile skin. A lot new roads start to open. I already started to code an encounter table for pokemon and I just wait on the wikia staff to get acces to the global CSS. Offcourse one guy is not enouge to get this wikia back into shape. Are the people that want to help on this project? Here's a project I made so far:
  11. I asked some of these questions myself a fell days ago. Maybe this can help: As far the pokemon ballanced goes. I noticed that they are still using the damage stats from the moves from the 3th generation. For example Tackle still only does 35 damage rather than 50. This also counts for the moveset & most pokemon encounter rates (even some of them a modified & includes a day/night system). As far as other differents goes. I think you will find most of the information in the quote link. If their is other stuff just like me known. Their are probaly more things to discover ;)
  12. Depending if the cap has changed for pay day. I recently grind 80k or the regular Fire Red. I really wanted that Ice Beam for my Vaporeon ^^
  13. I normaly go for Charmander but after discovering you can't find a real water pokemon in fire red before the 5th gym I decided to go Squirtle this time. You can catch a Growlithe after the 3th gym so I got my fire type covered.
  14. Alright I test out the game. I was a fun experience. I was just like playing the classic Fire Red. However I also experienced the true Fire Red style. Again missing some of the ballance changes that where made in higher generations. I started my trip throught the Hoen region. I took Mudkip & was ready to play some pokemon. But I just didn't like the grafics. I'm not sure they just felt to pix'i. So I decide to make another trainer for the Kanto region. I took Squirtle because I was already informed I wouldn't be able to get a real water pokemon before the 5th gym just like the classic Fire Red. The first thing I noticed was that some of the encounters on route 1 where changed. You can now catch caterpie in the night. That's fun, I also noticed the sleeping Pidgey. Nicely done, After catching my first pokemon Rattata I started to notice a downsite. Attack still deals like in the classic Fire Red 35 damage rather than 50. I assume their are a lot different moves that still have the the 3th generation values. That worries me a little bit for competive since the moves aren't ballanced out. This also makes me question what movesets the pokemon are using. I known their is a lot of worse to change this but I think it's worth it on the longer terms. Mostly because you already implemented the split physical/special system. The weather system was also something intressting. Does rain really power up my water attacks. I thought I noticed it with Water Gun but I'm not sure.
  15. Thx for the reply, this answers most of my questions. I will surely try the game out. But here's one more: Are their plans to implement the HS/SS encounters. Mostly the Old Rod encounters are pretty intressting for ballance wise. Kanto is like the only region where you can't find a real water pokemon before the 5th gym. I checked all encounter and all Old Rod pokemon are limited to magikarp. While in the Hoen Region the 2 pokemon system for Old Rod is already implemented.
  16. Hi all, I aways was a big fan from pokemon rom games. And I'm still playing them on my phone. I'm thinking about playing this MMO but I have some questions regarding the state of this game: Are the encounter rates match to the recent generation or are they updated to GEN IV (example in HG & SS Poliwag has a 5% enounter rate on Pallet Town, Viridian City, Route 22 with just an Old Rod) I find these small things really important because it makes the different between having a water pokemon available besides Magikarp before the 5th Gym like it is on the classic Fire Red on the 3th generation. Are their custom encounter rate implemented? What system are they using for the phsyical/special split? Are they still bound to type or did they split them like in higher generations. What EXP system are they using How about EV points How about evolution stones are they just available in the shop or did they do something else with it? How about pokemon that require trading & or hold items to evolve? Well that are my question for now ;)
