I mean, if it works, it works!
I can't really remember if zipping was a strict requirement, or just a recommendation.

But I'll say, zipping is particularly useful if you want to upload it to the internet.
Then other people can download it and place it in their folder. They never need to look inside. It will simply work. Like one single file.

Thanks for the tips! I'm wondering btw, I couldn't find the "sounds" files on my game until I downloaded a firered and hoenn music mod pack. Do I have to have some mod like those downloaded to access that folder where the three files we need to "archive" because it didn't show up on my regular pokemmo folder otherwise. I actually added my custom tracks into the kanto music mod that I downloaded and changed the audio file to match the ones in that folder and just changed the name to the corresponding type of instance I wanted to change, and it worked! I didn't need to do any of the winrar steps. I'm not sure if how I got my songs in the game is fine going forward or if I need to try with what this guide taught us. Thanks again for the information.

you can see the "outdated" tag on the threads to know if works or not, even tho those could be not always exact

if you cant zip those, try making a zip from other things, like zip a random file, then toss there those 3 inside and delete the random file u started with
yes, any error on the info.xml sintaxis would give make ur mod unusable, I suggest try first with the info.xml from the "example.mod" there u open the info file and change the name inside

 To make it more accessible order them by category -
Pokemon: Themes about pokemon or featuring pokemon on it
Thematic: Themes about Anime and all other stuff no related to pokemon
Others: Simple themes without none of the above, like re-color themes

 Me tomo un mes compilar y editar todo, este es el resultado

Pokemon: Temas de pokemon o que muestran pokemon en el 
Tematicos: Temas de anime u otras cosas no relacionadas a Pokemon
Otros: Temas simples sin nada de lo anterior, como los solo de color diferente

 (algunos de estos temas han sido modificados por diferentes razones)
