Muting and Strikes

Someone was muted for saying "i'll beat your wi fe" as a joke response to a spelling error I made. They were immediately muted for 50 minutes.

While they agreed that the content wasn't inappropriate, I still believe this doesn't warrant an immediate mute, given the lack of seriousness in the comment. Most other platforms have a strike system of at least one warning before a mute/ban unless the content is extremely concerning or disturbing. I also believe it would be helpful to have clear chat guidelines as well as clear consequences so, should the system not be changed to a warning, the punishment is more fair. I tried questioning this in the chat as I assumed the mod that muted them would still be there and did not receive any answers.
