CookeeMonstar
Just caught the alpha Pikachu from the Viridian forest, it is a timid male with average IVs. I want to breed it with my female normal timid Pikachu with better IVs. I've heard that in order for breeding offspring to be Alpha, both parents need to be Alpha. However, if I breed the alpha male with the normal female will the new Pikachu still have the hidden ability of the Alpha? My goal is to have a good IV female timid Pikachu with the hidden ability, I don't care about the Alpha status. Edited July 1, 2022 by CookeeMonstar More specific title Link to comment
vroomio
im not sure but aint there an item that helps u keep the ability of one of the breeding partners Link to comment
Makarovs
Yes, you miss alpha but keep HA. I breeded a Venusaur wiht HA using an alpha instead of Ability Patch. Of course it only works for Kanto starters, you will still need the Ability Patch to get the HA on other generations starters. Link to comment
CookeeMonstar
Alright looks like you guys were right, I bred my timid alpha male Pikachu with hidden-ability (holding everstone) with my timid normal female Raichu with a power item and got a timid normal female with the hidden-ability. So confirmed breeding your Alpha Pikachu transfers the hidden ability to offspring but not the alpha-ness. DoubleJ and awkways 1 1 Link to comment
