The first alpha swarm is almost over, if not over already so it'll calm down afterwards for the next 6 hours or so until the next swarm. It's unfortunate but expected, that's why a lot of people were waiting 6 hours before the first swarm even spawned, to make sure they were already in. Link to comment

It'll probably be reverted eventually since it was an actually horrible change. I understand why (they even mention it in the update post) but it's not practical at all.
