help! IDK why my head is bald

I recently started playing this game after god knows how long so I have stuff like mask, hats, halo, etc and when I try to customise my character it shows my hair, hat or mask on preview screen but when I save it the head becomes bald no matter what I wear, things like cape & clothes are fine they get changed when saved but the head always becomes bald anyone know why this is happening or how to solve it
