Mutoryu
Hi all, this is my first guide in this forum so please be lenient with me. Spoiler I just came back to PokeMMO after i last played active in 2021. I was very happy to see, that Johto has been released and was also excited to jump back in. After i finished all regions i asked my self how i could make some money and started to read and watch some guides on Gym Reruns. I saw the old Rerun Guides and also patrouskis Rerun Video on Youtube (My Rerun is based on his video). I remembered that i also started a Typhlosion/Torkoal Rerun Team but never finished it. Thats also the reason why i used my Timid Typhlosion for my runs. I knew back in the days that Typhlosion under the sun was very strong and i didnt wanted to spend more money on 2 Blastoise with eggmoves so i decided to minimize my costs and wanted to figure out a route, which you can run with just 2 Typhlosions and also recycle my old one. So i discovered the route below and i wanted to share it with you. The Team Spoiler Cottonee or Whimsicott (Level: As low as possible) Nature: / IVs: / EVs: / Ability: Prankster Item: (Rocky Helmet) Moves: Tailwind Torkoal (Level: As low as possible) Nature: / IVs: / EVs: / Ability: Drought Item: Heat Rock Moves: Explosion Typhlosion 1 (Level 100) Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack) IVs: 30-31 Sp. Attack - 31 Speed EVs: HP: 6 - Sp. Attack: 252 - Speed: 252 Ability: / Item: Charcoal (if you can afford it Choice Specs) Moves: Eruption, Flamethrower and/or Lava Plume, Cut Typhlosion 2 (Level 100) Nature: Modest (+ Sp. Attack, - Attack) IVs: 30-31 Sp. Attack - 31 Speed EVs: HP: 6 - Sp. Attack: 252 - Speed: 252 Ability: / Item: Choice Specs Moves: Eruption, Flamethrower and/or Lava Plume Backup (sometimes you need it) Starmie (Level 100) Nature: (Just dont go for a -Speed or -Sp. Attack Nature) IVs: Just preference (if possible go for 30-31 Sp. Attack - 31 Speed) EVs: HP: 6 - Sp. Attack: 252 - Speed: 252 Ability: / Item: / Moves: Surf, Psychic, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt The Rerun Path Spoiler KANTO Celadon City (Grass) (Needs HM Cut) Fuchsia City (Poison) Vermilion City (Electric) (Needs HM Cut) (Do the Vermillion Gym last so you can just Surf to the other side to get to the ship.) JOHTO Violet City (Flying) Goldenrod City (Normal) Ecruteak City (Ghost) Cianwood City (Fighting) Olivine City (Steal) HOENN Rustboro City (Rock) Dewford Town (Fighting) Mauville City (Electric) Petalburg City (Normal) Fortree City (Flying) SINNOH Oreburgh City (Rock) Eterna City (Grass) UNOVA Nacrene City (Normal) Castelia City (Bug) Driftveil City (Ground) Opelucid City (Dragon) (Dont heal after the last gym you do and head straight to Undella Town and visit the last two trainers if you manage to have some spare time during your Amulet Coin duration.) EXTRA (UNOVA Route 13) 2x Rich Trainer (https://i.imgur.com/XzMiOYe.png) (You can defeat both trainers by simply spamming Lava Plume or Flamethrower with one of your Typhlosion.) Explanations Spoiler Is there a strategy you need to beat the Gyms? Always lead with Cottonee/Whimsicott and Torkoal. Get your Tailwind off and use Explosion on Torkoal. Both should be defeated after the first turn and your two Typhlosions get into action. Just spam Eruption and defeat every gym listed above. If the enemy team couldnt manage to defeat your Cottonee/Whimsicott on the first turn, just switch it for your second Typhlosion and get things going. For the worst case if one of your Typhlosions get one hitted you have your Backup. I only once had to use it, but be better save then sorry i guess. Why are you using Starmie as your Backup? Starmie has a crazy coverage with its moveset and is super useful in many ways. But not only that, the other reason is you can do the island run mentioned here with it too: Why are there so many Informations missing regarding the nature, items,.. of the pokemon? The informations i didnt fill in are simply not important or doesnt matter for the runs. Just go with what you can afford or have. Why did you choose a Timid Typhlosion? One Modest Typhlosion is enough. The difference between both is round about $30.000 on the GTL right now. Every pokemon the first Typhlosion cant defeat, the second will for sure. Why is one of the Typhlosions just wearing a Charcoal? One Choice Specs is enough. If you can afford two, just run two of them. Why is it important for one of the Typhlosions to learn Cut? You have to cut down the trees in Kanto in order to access 2 gyms. Why do you run Surf (on Starmie)? The most important reason is to save some time by surfing after the last gym in Kanto. Why did you choose those gyms to fill your Rerun Path? I choose the gyms which you can easily access (short way to the gym leader) and beat without thinking to much about your next move or strategy. Why didnt you use the animated Typhlosion Idle as preview? My boy is missing the fire on his back. He looks so naked.. (https://i.imgur.com/Slq6hhe.png) Calculation Spoiler Spoiler You should be able to beat every gym and both trainers mentioned in 1 hour (even if not everything goes as well as it could). I always heal after every gym fight in the next city i fly to. So there is probably some possible adjustments regarding this. But even with that "time waste" you should be able to beat all of them. Lets head to the calculation part. Without any charm active: $176.576 With Amulet Coin: $264.864 (-$17.600 for the Amulet Coin in the GTL) = $247.264 With Riches Charm (+75%): $309.008 (-$70.000 for the Riches Charm in the GTL) = $239.008 With Riches Charm (+100%): $353.152 (-$140.000 for the Riches Charm in the GTL) = $213.152 Spoiler As you can see you can make the most profit by simply buying an Amulet Coin from the GTL or even farming it. For this run i wouldnt recommend buying any Charms tbh. How much would a team like this cost? I will calculate the pokemon & items needed with the current GTL prices and the TMs with the npc prices even though there are some TMs cheaper at the GTL. Pokemon ($323.000) Cottonee with Prankster: $3.000 Torkoal with Drought: $8.000 Typhlosion (With needed 31 IVs and Timid Nature): $140.000 Typhlosion (With needed 31 IVs and Modest Nature): $170.000 Starmie: $2.000 Items ($139.700) Heat Rock: $700 Charcoal: $9.000 Choice Specs: $130.000 TMs ($95.000) Tailwind TM: $20.000 Explosion TM: $15.000 (currently at $350 on the GTL) Thunderbolt TM: $30.000 Ice Beam TM: $30.000 (currently under $20.000 on the GTL) Side Notes: Typhlosion learns all moves needed by Level up. Starmie can learn Surf by HM and Psychic by Level up as a Staryu at Level 36 or for Heart Scales in the Poke Center as Starmie. Total cost: $557.700 So after 3 runs with an active Amulet Coin you got your first profit out of this method. Explosion is nice to make a possible focus sash useless but in every case the second attack of the typhlosion should get the same work done.
