Xmas Event Full Guide 2023

 

 

This event is simple and easy, it's a farm event. Here's what you need/can do:

• There is a +20% shiny buff for the whole event, so you can start hunting now.
• There are Lost Presents (LP) to collect and redeem for prizes.
• There is an event-specific swarm to catch and redeem for prizes.
• A new legendary, Articuno is available to hunt in Kanto. (outside grass and water only)

 

 

➤ Starting with the +20% shiny rate bonus, it's self-explanatory. If you want to hunt for a rare Pokemon, now is the time. The same goes for Articuno if you want to hunt it. Of course, you can hunt the legendary while shiny hunting at the same time.

 

 

➤ Lost Presents (LP) :

Lost presents are Pokeballs that can be found in all regions in different random places. You are limited to 2 every 10 minutes, they are also linked together across all 5 regions. So if you pick up a Present in Kanto the corresponding present will be gone from all 4 other regions.

★ What do you get from LP:

• Charcoal

• Pokemon with hidden abilities like Foongus

• Mysterious Balls

• Presents (these can be exchanged by talking to Santa for rewards)

• Hidden Ability Delibird.

• Mysterious Balls

• After returning 125 presents, you get Alpha Delibird.

• After getting the Alpha Delibird, A Big LP have a chance to spawn and can give you either :

                                - Big Lost Present (redeemed for Premier Ball)

                                - Alpha Amoonguss or Electrode

 

Note : Big Presents occur globally for each player, and each player receives one at that location. These spawns are linked across all 5 regions, preventing obtaining a second Big Present from another region.

                        

 

 

➤ Elf-Bot :     

These elves will need 3 Pokemon caught from the swarms (only accepting Pokemon caught from swarms, no GTL, no wild encounters). You can see the needed Pokemon above their heads each time, and after redeeming all 3, you get a reward.

★ What do you get from Elfs:

• Mysterious Balls

• At some Rounds milestones, you get vanities (a Round means redeeming all 3 pokes)

Green Christmas Present Costume, Obtained through 50 rounds of Elfbot redeems (150 Pokemon returned)

Boxing Gloves, Obtained through 10 rounds of Elfbot redeems. (30 Pokemon returned)

Frosty Tree outfit, Obtained through 30 rounds of Elfbot redeems. (90 Pokemon returned)

Fairy Elfbot Hat, Obtained through 70 rounds of Elfbot redeems. (210 Pokemon returned)

Fairy Elfbot Outfit, Obtained through 70 rounds of Elfbot redeems. (210 Pokemon returned)

 Wishing Stone, Obtained through 94 rounds of Elfbot redeems (282 Pokemon returned)

 

Update : after obtaining the Wishing Stone, Elfbots will now issue a random cosmetic item (or set of them) every 60 turn-ins.

 

 

 

➤ Notes :

• Mysterious Balls come in 4 types: Premier, Ultra, Great, and Normal Pokeball.

• Use the Quick Ball because it has a higher catch rate for most Pokemon in this event.

• You can find Callouts in global or discord.

• Santa and the Elf-bots are in port of each region.

• All Swarms are randomly generated.

• You can track your progress on the elf returns if you talk to the green (human) elf.

• After unlocking Big Presents, you will get 100% Mysterious Ultra Balls form normal lost presents.

 

Please approach this guide with an open mind, as it is my first attempt. If you find anything wrong, please let me know, and I'll fix it.😊

So does anyone know how to get the BIG lost presents?

 

Also there is mysterious premier balls, from what I've heard they require trading in 5 Big Lost Presents

Well I didn't know about it, didn't see any yet 

I'll wait till its confirmed then add it

edit : so yes, mysterious premier balls exist but still not sure how to get them or get the big presents yet

I don't know am at 60ish myself

and btw my team found it and as u said u need 5 to get premier

you start getting the big present after you get the alpha delibrid

@Enpure As Gyrzo stated above, the location is Castelia City, Unova. I took the screenshot as an example, but you can talk to the elf in every region. Their location is close to the port of every region (excet Unova, which is behind the buildings).

Having fun in this event but it seems like the lost present ratio is incredibly low for how many need to be turned in?

Some clarification on Lost Presents. You are limited to 2 presents exactly every 10 minutes. There is a desync issue where people see different presents from the majority of players that occurs sometimes and this is what causes the 3rd present to appear. Presents are also linked together across all 5 regions. So if you pick up Present #1 in Kanto the corresponding present will be gone from all 4 other regions.

Lastly regarding Big Presents they occur globally for every single player. Like Phenos it's still random if you will receive a Big Present or an Alpha Amoonguss / Electrode but every single player will have one occur at that location. These Big Present spawns are also linked across all 5 regions. So if one spawns in as a big present in Kanto there will be a corresponding Big Present across every region. They are LINKED though so you can't just go to the other region and get a 2nd Big Present that spawn. 

As a side note when you unlock Big Presents Santa also starts rewarding you Mysterious Ultra Balls at a 100% rate for normal lost presents if you'd like to add that.

Read the description.  But the short and hairy of it is Nothing.  It does nothing and almost certainly won't do anything in the long run, IMO.  Devs like to do stuff like that from time to time.
