Dannnno
So after seeing a bug report (this one) about how the server reset can ruin things I think it is important to address this issue. I've come up with two possible solutions. 1. Include in the server reset message a 'If you are doing something when the server shuts down you might be completely SOL' type of thing. 2. As they do in Pokemon Showdown, from a certain time (say 5 minutes before) prevent players from doing anything like initiate a battle (or just kick everyone from the server who is not in a battle). Then have a system that messages all players who are actively battling or doing something that could be affected by the shutdown that tells them the above message, or tells them that they have 5 minutes before they will be kicked from server at which point they may lose all their progress and be forced to restart on a new character. I don't really see any downsides to preventing people's games from being ruined, unless it would be too much work to code. Thoughts? Kulofae 1 Link to comment
