Kyu Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Problem: When attempting to start the game client, PokeMMO shows an error with "Pixel Format Not Accelerated". Solution: This error may be caused by a few things: You do not meet the minimum system requirements and the Graphics Card you are using does not support OpenGL 1.2 or above. Certain Intel graphics may need a workaround only available in the Windows installer. Your graphics drivers need to be updated before playing the game. Details for each operating system may be found below.

Type dxdiag in the Run window and press enter. When the DirectX Diagnostic window opens, navigate to the Display tab. The Manufacturer is listed under the Manufacturer: field. If the results of this step lead you to a Generic VGA Graphics Adapter or a manufacturer which is not listed below, you may need to update Windows through Windows Updates in order for your computer to recognize your graphics adapter. Instructions for Windows Updates may be found at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/is-computer-up-to-date for Windows 7/Vista and https://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ for Windows XP. If Windows is up to date and the output of these steps is still a Generic VGA Graphics Adapater or a manufacturer which is not listed below, please consult your computer manufacturer's Support website for the latest graphics drivers available for your computer. SiS The latest drivers for SiS may be found at http://w3.sis.com/download/ This website heavily recommends that you consult your computer manufacturer's website before downloading and installing anything from this SiS's website. Modern operating systems may not have drivers for this chipset series. Installing drivers from this website may break compatibility with video games other than PokeMMO. If, after installing these drivers, PokeMMO runs, please note that there are known graphical problems with SiS adapters which may cause a variety of issues, including: • The overworld not rendering (Black world map.) • Crashing to desktop with a generic Java error. • Character sprites not rendering correctly. • In-game text not rendering correctly. Users of other Linux distributions may still be able to run PokeMMO, but with slightly altered instructions. Consult your distribution's documentation for each step if your distribution does not have the required tools, package management utilities, or similar syntax. Open a Terminal. Type the command sudo update-pciids and enter. Type the command sudo lspci -vnn | grep -i VGA -A 12 and enter. If the results of this step lead you to a Generic VGA Graphics Adapter or a manufacturer which is not listed below, you may need to consult your computer manufacturer's Support website to find out what Graphics Card you have. If your computer manufacturer no longer exists or does not provide meaningful support information, you may want to use the generic Mesa3D Graphics Library. This is usually enabled by default in the event that no other 3D library is found, but instructions for this are provided below under the "Generic" section in the case that your OpenGL environment is corrupt. Graphics Card Driver Updating in Linux We do not provide instructions on how to manually enable or reinstall open-source drivers, how to install closed-source drivers from downloaded binaries, or how to install open-source drivers from source for simplicity's sake. Because of the wide variety of operating system configurations possible with Linux, it is recommended opening a support ticket if your OpenGL environment is corrupt.
