DoubleJ
This guide is designed to share strategies for using Dragon-Type Pokemon in our new PokeMMO Dragons are considered the strongest type in PokeMMO right now, due to their variability and heightened stats. This guide is designed for use when all abilities and tutors are made available, excluding DW abilities. Devs never gonna release them for us. #RIPgen1-3legends Note that most Dragons are susceptible to Stealth Rocks, so partner with a Rapid Spin or Defog user. *As an FYI, I have not included EV spreads below. This is largely because the Dragons are so versatile that you can change spreads for your own benefit. Altaria NU Spoiler Support Chicken Nature: Calm Ability: Natural Cure Item: Leftovers Draco Meteor Roost / Rest Heal Bell Defog In US/UM Altaria was gifted Defog, which provides an added benefit for our jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none airborne cloud. Despite being weak to Stealth Rocks, Altaria can easily heal off any damage and remove those rocks for your team. In addition, it can remove status with Heal Bell and fire off a powerful 130 BP Draco Meteor to threaten any soft switch in. With Natural Cure, you can choose between Rest or Roost based on your preference. Dragon Dance Nature: Adamant / Careful Ability: Natural Cure Item: Leftovers Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Roost Heal Bell / Substitute / Earthquake Sporting an impressive amount of bulk, Altaria can easily set up on many of NU's walls, even when they pack Ice Beam. The unfortunate side to this is that Altaria struggles with getting kills do to its incredibly low Attack stat. Consider Heal Bell to support your team and to prevent Toxic stall. Substitute offers protection to potentially set up multipled DD's, while Earthquake offers coverage against grounded Steel-types. Soft Nuke Nature: Modest Ability: Natural Cure Item: Choice Specs Draco Meteor Dragon Pulse Fire Blast Rest While Altaria has one pitiful SpAtt stat, it does carry Draco Meteor, which is one hell of a STAB. Fire Blast patches up the holes in coverage and Dragon Pulse provides a 100% accuracy option. With Natural Cure, a sneaky Rest can garner an instant heal on a forced switch. Dragonite OU Spoiler Choice Band Nature: Adamant Ability: Inner Focus Item: Choice Band Dragon Claw Fire Punch Extremespeeed Superpower Without a 130 BP Outrage, the Choice Band set doesn't seem as exciting but considering the Attack stat and access to Extremespeed you have to at least consider it. Having impressive bulk and resistances, Dnite can switch in with ease and swing away. Fire Punch is useful to cover Scizor, Forretress, and Ferrothorn, which will be the primary answers to Dragon Claw. Without Jirachi or Heatran, Earthquake loses a lot of viability. Dragon Dance Nature: Adamant / Jolly Ability: Inner Focus Item: Lum Berry / Leftovers Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Fire Punch Extremespeed / Roost An impressive late-game sweeping option, Dragon Dance can propel Dragonite past most non-Scarf users and OHKO them with a +1 Dragon Claw. Fire Punch offers coverage on Steel-types while Extremespeed threatens weakened Scarf users. If you run a bulky set against stall teams, consider Roost over Extremespeed to set up multiple DD's. Bring the Rain Nature: Mild Ability: Inner Focus Item: Life Orb Hurricane Thunder Draco Meteor / Dragon Tail Roost / Extremespeed / Superpower Being the most diverse set, Rain Dragonite relies on STAB Hurricane over Draco Meteor. Paired with Thunder and Superpower, Dragonite can threaten most walls and open your opponent's team up for an easy rain sweep. Reminder that rain provides 100% accuracy to both Thunder and Hurricane. Druddigon NU Spoiler Standard Fat Dragon Nature: Adamant Ability: Rough Skin Item: Leftovers / Choice Band Dragon Claw Earthquake Sucker Punch Stealth Rock / Superpower In the lower tiers, Steel-types are all susceptible to EQ and thus the classic Dragon + Ground coverage is lethal. Forcing switches from the fear of a CB boosted STAB Dragon Claw also provides opportunity for Stealth Rock set up. Sucker Punch is there for a shaky priority move. Fatter Dragon Nature: Careful Ability: Rough Skin Item: Leftovers Dragon Tail Earthquake Stealth Rock Glare An annoying phazer, this variant can spread paralysis with Glare and truly force switches with STAB Dragon Tail. Earthquake rounds out the set for coverage. Flygon UU Spoiler Choice Band / Choice Scarf Nature: Adamant / Jolly Ability: Levitate Item: Choice Band or Choice Scarf Dragon Claw / Outrage Earthquake Fire Punch / Superpower U-Turn Can we say momentum shift? Flygon offers that and more with its plethora of resistances and exceptional movepool. Fire Punch offers coverage on those dual-type Steels, but Superpower provides a strong option for the fat blobs like Chansey and Blissey. Dragon Dance Nature: Adamant / Jolly / Naughty / Naive Ability: Levitate Item: Life Orb Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Earthquake Roost / Fire Blast / Substitute The sexiest set to come out of the upper gens, DD Flygon can flat out sweep late game. Watch out for this beast and pray it doesn't get to dance more than once if you find yourself without Ice Shard. Haxorus OU Spoiler Absolute Pain Nature: Adamant Ability: Mold Breaker Item: Choice Band / Life Orb / Fighting Gem Swords Dance / Aqua Tail Dragon Claw Earthquake Low Kick / Superpower Whether you use a Choice Band or Life Orb, that base 147 attack stat is going to wreak absolute havoc. Swords Dance provides an incredible amount of power that beats the living hell out of anything and everything. Fighting Gem boosts Fighting-type attacks making short work of Skarmory, Forretress, Bronzong, and Ferrothorn. Double Dance Nature: Adamant Ability: Mold Breaker Item: Life Orb Swords Dance Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Earthquake Choose your dance or go for both, either way you're opponent is going to clench. Hydreigon OU Spoiler Coming Soon. Kingdra OU Spoiler Rain Sweeper Nature: Modest Ability: Swift Swim Item: Choice Specs / Life Orb Hydro Pump Surf / HP Electric Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor Ice Beam / Rain Dance This set is incredibly powerful once you get the rain set, but it does have difficulty against full health Blissey or Eviolite Chansey. Pair it with Dugtrio and slay. HP Electric offers coverage against Gyarados, Pelipper, and Tentacruel, but all are hit for neutral damage by STAB Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor if you want to carry a 100% accuracy STAB Surf. Dragon Dance Nature: Adamant / Lonely Ability: Sniper Item: Life Orb / Chesto Berry / Scope Lens Dragon Dance Waterfall Outrage Substitute / Rest / Draco Meteor / Rain Dance Kingdra provides a bit of diversity by switching between special, physical, and even mixed sets. Consider this offensive weapon for a late game sweep considering all the opportunities you have with its amazing typing and one weakness. Salamence OU Spoiler Choice Mence Nature: Adamant / Jolly Ability: Intimidate Item: Choice Band / Choice Scarf Dragon Claw Earthquake Stone Edge Outrage / Aqua Tail The King of the OU Meta returns and is once again ready to sweep. With an impressive 135 base attack and a nearly unresisted STAB, Salamence can just wreck when you eliminate its one or two checks on your opponents team. Fortunately, with a nerfed Outrage and no access to Moxie, you can't rely on the boost after boost technique that scared everyone in BW. Dragon Dance Nature: Adamant / Jolly / Lonely / Hasty Ability: Intimidate Item: Life Orb Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Earthquake Stone Edge / Fire Blast / Roost With a plethora of set up opportunities, Salamence can sweep through a team with even just one DD. Fire Blast is available for our favorite Steel-types, opening the road for a Dragon Claw beat-down. Choose Roost for additional longevity or consider Stone Edge for further physical coverage. MixMence Nature: Rash / Naive Ability: Intimidate Item: Life Orb Draco Meteor Fire Blast Outrage / Dragon Claw / Hydro Pump Earthquake / Roost With an impressive Special Attack stat and a horridly powerful STAB Draco Meteor, Salamence can break holes in many teams. The surprise factor alone can upend common checks like Hippowdon, Donphan, Slowbro, Vaporeon, and Milotic that might be predicting EQ or hoping to tank a STAB Dragon Claw for the team. If you need speed for the sweep, hit that DD. If you need power to wreck a wall, hit that SD. If you can somehow go forr both, do it. Mkns1070 1 Link to comment
Gunthug
I actually prefer thunderpunch on scarf flygon to fire punch. Being able to check +1 gyara is pretty useful - stone edge works too. Also, fire blast, even with a - sp att nature, will probably do more damage than fire punch to most relevant targets. Plus it avoids residual damage from ferro Link to comment

Not that there's anything wrong with Double Dance sets, but c'mon, how could you forget godbird? Edit: Also, you REALLY shouldn't assume Dream World abilities on any of these things, since they aren't expected to come soon, and on stronger OU pokemon, might never come out at all. DoubleJ
Updated a couple sets and added Kingdra + Salamence. Will work on Hydreigon later. Also removed DW abilities cuz realistically speaking, we never did get Dungeons for the Gen 1-3 Legends. Link to comment

Laz
On a side note, I think Sniper Modest Scope lens Kingdra with agility and Draco meteor is a lit set, as criticals ignore the sp.def drop. I don't know if it suits Double battles though. Link to comment
