1. Your art is pretty good~ Both the signatures and the drawn ones. There are occasionally art contests held on these forums and I think you'd do well in them if you choose to enter~
2. I was going to suggest this myself. It could bring about some friendly rivalry between teams as well as giving a possible (but not always accurate) indication of the opponent's skill. It could also potentially get a lesser known team to be better known if its members consistently put up a good fight.
3. Yes, it is next to the first one. However, if it isn't in the corners you have a 1/4 chance of guessing correctly. If you're unlucky it can quite literally take that long. See below - it's no exaggeration.
4. Thank you, my mistake. 100 steps isn't. When you multiply that by the number of times it is used per day by some players though, it becomes thousands and therefore a lot of wasted time. Touché. Thanks - edited.
5. With Pay Day's effect removed when used on wild Pokemon, that leaves only NPCs as the best source of income that does not rely on trade or attempting to Thief items with a low hold rate. When the Vs Seeker is the best way to farm money, it will be used frequently by a lot of players and will become a very important item. Traveling around the region each day using it on every trainer means that the player will be biking a LOT to recharge it. Mindlessly biking up and down is bad gameplay. Now that money grinding is actually necessary, that 100 step cooldown on the Vs Seeker begins to become very noticeable. It's pointless, tedious, and doesn't belong in an MMO. If players are expected to be semi-relying on it as a source of income, removing this annoying session of biking that occurs every couple of minutes would be a small and much appreciated mercy. Pros: -Makes money grinding more bearable and less tedious -Removes something obnoxious and pointless -Somewhat makes up for the inability to fight NPCs more than once per day Cons: -None worth mentioning Discuss~
6. At the moment type boosting items aren't often worth having over a lum berry - 10% is just too negligible. 20% however... I can see that being actually useful. I support this completely.
7. IGN: RacheLucario Pokemon chosen: Astrazelle Program used: Paint Tool SAI Time taken: 10 hours (+ several hours "catching" the Pokemon) I have chosen to draw my interpretation of Projectile's Astrazelle. I based this picture on the name (Astrazelle), classification (the Cosmic Gazelle Pokemon), base stats, movepool and Pokedex entries as well as on a Thomson's Gazelle (general anatomy + side stripe). I wanted to stress as much as possible the "Cosmic Gazelle" part and half electric typing, hence the colouration and starry pelt. I could go more into depth about what represents what, but the rest should be pretty easy to figure out. While the fighting typing is a bit subtle, there are quite a number of Pokemon with unidentifiable typing including but not limited to Altaria. To add authenticity and believability to it, I decided to go out and catch one as proof. I took some screenshots before releasing it (because I found it by exploiting a bug and don't want to be banned).
The stats match up with its IVs, nature and base stats. The moves are accurate for its level. Its static paralyzed Smeargle. Its gender is correct. It has a party sprite. It has a follower sprite. It's oddly resized in battle like all other Pokemon. I just killed any amount of subtlety these screenshots might have had. Also...
Male sprite: Female sprite: Follower sprite (male): Party sprite:

8. I tried tournament mode earlier, and it was strange lacking the tabs (although I'll admit that I was trying to test a baby Pokemon's IVs. I'm just a terrible person like that.) Having tabs can really help in deciding which Pokemon is most suitable to take an attack (based on defenses) as well as which is fastest/slowest. As long as this can't be abused to test the IVs of a Pokemon under lv50 as you have suggested, I fully support it.
9. With the new ability to pass egg moves from female Pokemon comes the inability to pass 4 moves from the male Pokemon. This makes it difficult to breed Pokemon that require 4 egg moves if one parent does not have any. In order to get a combination of 4 particular egg moves, each parent must be bred individually or they will get moves from the wrong parent (unless Ditto). Please excuse the terrible diagram and/or if I have misunderstood something. While we have a lot of egg move males and females at the moment from the time of male-only passing, attempting to breed one egg move parent with a non-egg move parent results in the babies inheriting the wrong moves. For example, using an Eevee with wish, toxic and 2 level-up moves with another Eevee with Curse, Wish, Sub and Hidden Power yields offspring with Toxic/Curse/Wish/Sub. There is no way to add hidden power to the offspring instead of toxic without sacrificing another move or teaching it to the mother - which isn't possible for actual egg moves on other Pokemon. What I suggest is the option when depositing Pokemon at the daycare to choose whether to pass moves from one particular parent or have them mix like they currently are. This does not break canon any more than it already is as females cannot pass moves at all in the handhelds. Pros: Saves time and frustration when breeding Pokemon that need 4 egg moves. Even if I am wrong in the passing mechanics, being able to choose which parent passes their moves would still be highly convenient. Cons: Lack of realism for phrasing the option (but then again, what in Pokemon makes sense?) Discuss.
10. Screenshots are unnecessary effort unless you're only trading a couple of Pokemon. Each must be uploaded and linked individually, and that can take a long time if you're trying to sell a lot of Pokemon~
11. This would be extremely helpful, especially when building a shop which I assume many people will now do as they discover that their boxes full of junk have some treasures in them. I definitely support this.
12. This would be a nice MMO-only change. As far as I know the only reason they were made sterile is because female evolved Pokemon are coded to only produce their own lowest evolution form, and Nidorina/Queen would be difficult to code to be able to produce both Nidoran males and females as they are completely different Pokemon. Of course, it could be equally difficult to code in PokeMMO - I have no idea, but I assume it would be. I'd like this to happen, but I don't think it will due to the difficulty. Secretly I just want to breed my near-godly Nidoqueen though. I regret evolving her. Also, proof that I don't disagree with everything you suggest.
13. This suggestion sounds good on paper, but I don't think it'll work out very well. Giving exp upon capture sounds reasonable and isn't particularly abusable aside from making utility Pokemon easy to train. I'm neutral to that part of the suggestion. The gen 6 exp share though... There are some problems with that. It would just make the storyline far too easy. If you have one Pokemon gaining 100% and others gaining 50% on top of that, you essentially get 350% normal exp with a full party. Fire Red's NPCs are on the levels they are with the player's estimated levels in mind, so unless they're all scaled up to be able to deal with you, they'll be laughably easy. Coupled with the traded Pokemon level restrictions, those Pokemon will end up disobeying more than they obey because they would constantly grow past their obedience cap. To put the 350% into context, I've done alt runs with lucky eggs (150%) and completely destroyed the gyms because my Pokemon were just so overleveled despite barely grinding at all against wild Pokemon. The exp-all from gen 1 was fair because the exp rate remained at 100% (shared between all Pokemon evenly), but gen 6's exp share is just too much as it generates additional exp that would put the player miles ahead of their opponents.
14. 50s is a completely different meta to 100s. There's no Dragonite, no Tyranitar, and a couple of missing moves that the pre-evolution couldn't have bred onto them (such as moonlight on Umbreon). The thing is... That's one of the reason people like 50s. Tyranitar is so dominant and borderline overpowered in 100s and to not have it in 50s is a good thing to most. Even if it's banned in official tourneys, it wouldn't be banned in regular PvP and would ultimately ruin the experience. For example, rain and sun teams would be forced into disuse due to TTar's instant and everlasting sandstorm. People like 50s not only because it's less work - they like it because there's more variety and less of the same Pokemon. To allow Dragonite, Tyranitar and impossible moves like Moonlight on Umbreon would basically turn it into 100s with lower stats. Flat battles will be coming anyway I suppose, so I guess we'll just have to enjoy what we have while it lasts. When flat battles are a thing, there will be no reason whatsoever to want to lower a Pokemon's level.
15. I'm all for it. It sounds reasonable and prevents unnecessary questions (especially regarding Espeon/Umbreon). On the topic of Eevee though it might be slightly difficult to fit in since it has 5 evolutions.
16. I will admit that that reason in particular (the reason for crits other than being simply there) was rather poorly thought out, and looking back on it can admit that it wasn't quite valid or true. The part about removing critical hits altogether (or letting the player choose them) was purely sarcastic. The rest I stand by however.
17. Once again, Slowbro was an example and we are not here to talk about how to beat it. There are many occasions where a Pokemon simply needs to be crit in order to be killed either because it's constantly healing itself or it's massively buffed and constantly healing itself. Critical hits are a part of the competitive metagame primarily for this reason. If not for this, they would have been disabled in battle simulators etc long before now. While limiting crits will prevent someone from getting 5 in a match, you still have no counter argument to how one-sided/unfair calm mind wars become if you get useless crits at the wrong times. You are literally guaranteed to lose them. If it was between Slowking instead of Slowbro, leftovers would be pretty much a full heal too meaning that exploiting a rest is not an option - the Pokemon have to struggle it out. This suggestion still heavily involves the RNG, but makes it 10x worse - see YagamiNoir's post for that. If this suggestion were to happen, you would actually be penalized for scoring a critical hit instead of the opponent that took it. Why not just try to ban critical hits altogether or let players choose when they get them? Those are only slightly more terrible suggestions. Overall, this suggestion would improve nothing - it would only make things worse. As it is, both players have an equal chance of getting a critical hit - which is completely fair. Pokemon has always involved a small amount of luck. If one player is unable to crit due to wasting them when the opponent was on low HP or having it sponged by a Blissey, yet the other player can still crit, that's the essence of unfairness especially when a fight between two Pokemon relies on the RNG to decide it with a crit (AKA calm mind wars). Equal chance = fair. One player having no chance and the opponent still having one = completely unfair. There would be much more whining about the limit than there ever was about random critting. You've heard my reasons as to why this is an awful idea as well as the reasons of others. I am not going to debate you further on the issue as it would be a waste of my time and yours. This isn't happening, and that has been pretty well established by the amount of negative feedback you have been receiving on the subject. If you want crits nerfed, you're better off supporting the gen 6 mechanics thread since it has the potential for implementation while still making crits less game-changing and keeping them fair at the same time. While your suggestion might have sounded good on paper, it just simply cannot work.
18. When there are drunk idiots in my neighborhood at 2am howling and barking like dogs, while at the same time causing the real dogs to make noise. Not something that happens often, but enough of a reason to close my window now.
19. I wasn't saying that a specific Pokemon could only be killed with crits. I'm saying that while crits can ruin a battle, they are also sometimes needed to kill that Pokemon that keeps healing or to end calm mind wars. Disabling crits after a couple have been used makes it incredibly one-sided if a calm mind war begins and only one player is capable of winning it due to being the only one with a critical hit remaining. After winning that calm mind war, they can sweep with their buffed Pokemon, and there is absolutely nothing the opponent can do since they can't control their critical hits and end up getting them early on, thus preventing them from having any chance of winning once the calm mind war began. You also cannot switch out of a resting Slowbro, because then what are you going to do? You can't OHKO it with anything, and if you switch to a phazer you will be outright killed due to the negative priority when Slowbro wakes up. If you predict a rest and switch early but the opponent predicts your prediction, they're going to attack again instead of resting, thus killing the phazer no matter what it is. Whoever switches out will be at a huge disadvantage. "slowbro has 5 weakness that can be exploited while it sleeps and is not as unkillable as you think, again this belongs in tier list." See above and factor in its massive defense, and this is not a discussion about Slowbro itself - this is a discussion about limiting the number of critical hits a player can have, and using Slowbro as an example of why this is a terrible idea. "(+6 everything for you -6 everything for your opponent with mean look bp'd on and frozen with both screens up would make you unkillable but +6 sp def/def does not." Maybe not completely unkillable, but it is going to utterly wreck your team with its +6 attack/special attack and will be very difficult to kill with its buffed and naturally high defenses. If a Pokemon this beastly is the result of an unwinnable calm mind war due to one side being out of crits, people are going to call BS far sooner than they would if a Pokemon got a crit at the wrong moment. This is the same thing - a person got a crit at the wrong moment and it cost them the match instead of their opponent. Completely and utterly unfair in every sense of the word. "again belongs elsewhere" See above and/or below. "the argument "you can only kill it with crits" belongs in the tier list. if a pokemon can only be killed through crits it is too strong for the tier. this is not a tier argument this is a crit one." Exactly. I'm using certain examples more than once - not calling certain Pokemon overpowered. I have no problem with any of these Pokemon and actually use a couple of them myself. Overall, this suggestion to make matches more fair actually makes them less fair, especially when calm mind wars are involved (as I have made very clear).
20. I'm not about to go and say "every Pokemon at +6 cannot be killed without crits!" since that would be dumb. 1/16 is not a strategy ordinarily, but crit fishing is a necessary tactic if facing something that can heal itself. Being able to increase that rate to 100% as per gen 6 mechanics actually is a legitimate strategy all-round however. Slowbro vs Slowbro is actually fairly common since its 4 main attacking moves (surf, flamethrower, psychic and ice beam) are easily sponged by its own species. Almost all Slowbro carry rest too. Typically Slowbro runs bold and 252 defense, making a critical hit a guaranteed OHKO at +6 special attack if calm mind is being used. If it doesn't invest in defense, it is easier to take down physically and as such less a threat. this rarely happens though, so to calculate a Pokemon with an EV spread that it almost never uses is not a valid test. Slowbro vs Slowbro is just one example of stat buffing demanding a critical hit to end it in anything other than struggle. This adds something else that is unfair - if one player has not used up all their critical hits and the other has, in the event of a calm mind war, the player who still has crits left is guaranteed to win - probably the entire match (since their Slowbro is an unkillable death machine), which is extremely unfair since you cannot control when you crit. Skarm vs Skarm is an example of when switching is -not- impossible. Skarmory can be attacked specially due to its lower special defense, and curse/swords dance are moves that are very rarely used on it making it not much of an offensive threat in its own right. That aside, most run roar or whirlwind making boosting redundant. If Slowbro boosts its special defense and invests in defense, it is still extremely difficult to kill due to having a massive 178 defense to go with its boosted special attack. There is very little - if anything - that can OHKO it physically without boosts if it's healthy. Yes, gen 3 is wall based and I have no problem with that. However, to disable critical hits if the RNG gives you them when you don't need them early on is to make it even more wall based, since your Pokemon is literally unkillable under the right circumstances. Not all matches are official and therefore there is no time clause in standard PvP. If it's a serious battle between 2 people who are not friends and just want to win, who's going to want to AFK and have the system messages broadcast their loss? Not letting them set up isn't an argument, as sometimes it is nearly impossible to fully prevent. Using Slowbro as another example, it is incredibly difficult to take down physically, and it has respectable special defense to boot. It will almost always be at +1 when the opponent switches, and it can outright kill many phazers unless they're perfectly healthy since roar/whirlwind have negative priority. Using haze still means taking an unboosted hit, and Slowbro still does respectable damage. A Crobat will either die or barely survive a psychic, and most other hazers are barely a threat to Slowbro, acting only as checks. The same thing goes for Curselax and Curse Slowking, but buffing their physical stats instead of special. These Pokemon are difficult to kill, difficult to phaze, and if they go against Pokemon running the same sets as themselves, those matches are going to last an incredible length of time if there are no critical hits, or will be incredibly unfair when one is guaranteed to win and come out of it with a fully healthy Pokemon with +6 attack/special attack, +6 of their weaker defense, and the other defense being naturally high.
21. Cross chop is a move with low distribution - Golduck, Electabuzz, Primeape, Magmar, Machamp and Ursaring are the only Pokemon capable of learning it, and not all will do well in OU. Many people choose Pokemon such as Heracross over Machamp, and as such would be stuck brick breaking their way through something that literally cannot be killed because they lost their chance to crit it. And this doesn't just apply to Blissey as she was only an example and I have no problem with her being used. Slowking is another competent special wall and is resistant to cross chop. Any Pokemon with good HP and decent defenses can be made nigh unstoppable with enough defense boosts. Game Freak gave us critical hits to deal with stat boosts, and to take away that method can make Pokemon literally invincible if they are allowed to set up. Boost a Pokemon's defense and/or special defense then pass the boosts to something that excels in the stat you didn't boost. Without the ability to break through those buffs, there is no chance of winning. Another problem is never-ending matches. You pit 2 Slowbro with leftovers against each other and the calm mind war begins. If both players have used their crits for that match, they cannot break through each other. At +6, they will do next to no damage to each other and easily heal it off with leftovers and rest. Neither can switch out, since if they dare to they will be facing a +6 Slowbro and will therefore lose. If both are running amnesia instead of calm mind however, the maximum they can do to each other with surf is 10. With a max HP of 202, leftovers will fully heal them, and it is unreasonable to try to switch and hit physically when Slowbro has 178 defense. The only way these calm mind wars can end without being as long as a real war is when one of them scores a critical hit, and to have a match turn into a struggle fight because there was no other way it could end due to crits being disabled for both combatants is absolutely stupid.
22. I actually do compete occasionally, just not in official tournaments. I know what I'm talking about. Acid armor + baton pass is a tactic that I frequently use, and passing that to Blissey or another special wall makes it extremely difficult to kill if you cannot phaze it. Vaporeon can take a hit too with its high HP, special defense and buffed defense. It's also easy to abuse a sleeping opponent that doesn't want to switch out, such as a Pokemon with boosts of its own using rest or having been put to sleep. Late-game, with crits disabled due to having already been used, it can become impossible to win if your opponent manages to get in some defense/special defense - even if it's just on Vaporeon/Slowbro/Snorlax. That aside, buffing defenses can cause counters to cease being counters - at +6 defense Blissey loses only about 1/3 of its HP from Machamp's cross chop. If Machamp cannot crit, Blissey can take him down by healing when she's in danger. If Machamp comes in on Vap while its setting up, it only does around 1/4 with cross chop when Vap's at +2. This is coming from a Pokemon with 200 attack using a 150 power move (due to STAB). Not everybody uses Machamp though - in fact, I rarely see it. Heracross won't fare much better in this situation, since it cannot OHKO Blissey with a max power reversal - it does around 2/3 and she can kill him easily since he's on 1HP. Let's not forget her access to status inflicting moves too to either damage the opponent with toxic or net herself a few more turns to heal with thunder wave. I think I've established that a +6 Blissey is no pushover and that Vaporeon is difficult to take down too. With the strongest available fighting types unable to kill Blissey as long as she has PP, very little can without critting her and taking advantage of her low unboosted defense in the process, and it is very easy to pass acid armor to her too - I can say this from experience. If we assume that she carries aromatherapy/refresh, toxic doesn't threaten her either. With aromatherapy/refresh, thunder wave/toxic and either calm mind + 1 attack or 2 attacks, she can be difficult to deal with. Her damage output is fairly low, but a physical critical hit easily kills her and if you take away that chance, you let a Pokemon that is not difficult to buff due to the bulk of the baton passer completely destroy you. For Pokemon such as Skarmory with special defense boosts, it's much the same but to a lesser extent due to his not-300+ HP.
23. Let's say that you're fighting a Blissey with 6 defense boosts. It has 16PP on softboiled and is using it when its HP drops below 50%. You've already had all your crits, and so have a 0% chance to get another one. Your Pokemon with haze/roar/whirlwind has already been killed, or for some reason you don't have one. This Blissey destroys you as you cannot deal enough damage due to being unable to get a crit - it kills your 5 remaining Pokemon because it either sponged crits from special attacks or the Vaporeon passing defense was hit with a couple. The same goes with using a Skarmory with special defense boosts or a Curselax. Or anything really if you can baton pass to it. Sometimes crit fishing is necessary, and to limit crits would actually be far more unfair than it is right now. Gen 6 mechanics would be much more fair since it prevents a situation like this from happening as well as making critical hits a viable strategy. With the current mechanics, everyone has the same chance of critting with ice beam etc, so in that sense it's fair. The RNG is a malevolent god.
24. I'm aware of that. Since he's part of this event however, he's relevant. To be fair though, none of them are Santa's reindeer. If there is a man named Santa Claus out there, he does not have flying reindeer.
