  1. Dugtrio team player are proficient and less quantity, 850 elo player builds, 700 elo player copies. Mainly high elo player can successfully build a strong dugtrio team, the trapping core or spinner core wont easily smash by one common polular pokemon because the builder himself is exprienced player, that is what they working on when they build the dugtrio team, to think about common rock setter and common checks about sweeper they picked. Gallade was nerfed because Sableye is the only specific solution BUT the relationship is still 1 vs 1. When I list NP rotom-wash could solve Togekiss+Dugtrio, you added Serp/Shedinja counters NP rotom-wash, you are expecting 1 vs 3 and this won't prove any logic about broken because this is a 6 vs 6 game. The logic is wrong to expecting 1 pokemon to destroy the whole core and it can not be specific, as I said dugtrio teambuilder are few but proficient, how is that posibble? Let's back to the team then, these 2 are most common team in OU meta. Dugtrio usually close to a stall game style, A team with 0% winrate when they facing Dugtrio team, it have to meet these conditnions: 1. Hazzard setter lose to Dugtrio team's spinner(Skarmory, Metagross) 2. Checks to Dugtrio team's Sweeper trapped by Dugtrio.(Tyrannitar, zone) 3. Wallbreaker trapped by dugtrio.(Kabutops, Infernape) A team can succesfully set rocks, or it's sweeper's check wont trapped by Dugtrio, or Wallbreaker won't trapped by dugtrio, it will be playable against Dugtrio team If one of the conditions can be met. And of course it's a 0% winrate when you can not met any of these condition. Apart from specific sets, what pokemon we can pick. Hazzard setter: -Dugtrio: Catch porygon/dugtrio and set rocks -Mix life orb Garchomp: eq+dm kills espeon, Flame 2 hits KO serp. -UT Glisgor: has a chance to win by prediction -Wezzing: Against to first one which is most complained, Wezzing ignore magic bounce and serp can not defog on it Checks to Sweepers and wont catched by Dugtrio: -To check Togekiss+dugtrio: Zapdos, Mamoswine, CM suicune, Brongzone, A faster CM togekiss. -To check Volcarona+dugtrio: Dragonite, Gyarados, AV mienshao, Chandelure..... And we just got zapdos idk why there is so many people complain about facing this, specs almost win them solo...... All the things I listed are common in OU meta game, we can see alot already, I personally did not find any pressure to force me to run something with less usage. if searching for something unique you can find hundreds extra. Lastly, some post about unheathy mu, A rain player can already see falure when opponent comes up with heavy trick room team, set rocks and trick room then conkeldorr comes up kill 3 pokemons. even it has low usage but I can suggest Ban Trick Room in OU? Because it is not worthy for me to change my team sets because of this low usage team style. The answer is no. A meta game with no "Perfect team" is heathy, because Match-up is like a Rock-paper-scissors game you will face something you never win. Compare to BW, we extend movepoul, added TP and Baton pass on alot of pokemon, Dugtrio itself is not broken, The team comes up with Dugtrio do have common way to solve, and specific way to counter.
  2. I am a big fan of darmanitan, tyranitar, kabutops and I hate dugtrio, But I think dugtrio is far from uber..... Dugtrio leads a spetcial and intersting playstyle. half of the game will rely on rock setters and defogers from both side, a team with weak rock setter and dugtrio's prey will lose to this kind of playstyle for sure, because that's how dugtrio team works, and that how players design dugtrio team. Spetcialize some pokemon will reflect this bad feeling back to Dugdrio team, Such as Steathrock hydregon, mentor smash Metagross. Or CB rockblast ttar/kabutops. Dugtrio team does not limit the choice of pokemon, CM/skill swap Brongzone, NP rotom, Timid CM Suicune has been picked by many high elo players to solve Dugtrio+Togekiss. It makes team builds even more. Finally, we banned DM hydre, because with draco mentor hydregon has no safety check, We nerfed Gallade, because Sableye was the only solution. What dugtrio does? traping some of togekiss/espeon checks but there are still plenty of checks left, they check togekiss/espeon also wont trapped by it. It is not healthy for a team to have a chance of winning against all team types, bad mu is most common thing in this game. I play rain these days and I have almost no chance to win heavy trick room team, They can just set tr and kill 3 mons with no brain and thinking. Every team will meet this kind of problem, some hates stall and some hates rain. This kind of thing is very unlikely, just like Dugtrio's usage.
  3. The problem is the visualization of hydregon is hard to predict, it gets too much new moves from later gens, There are 5 kinds of set in OU meta: Specs, mix, sub+np, Taunt+roost and scarf. Ban draco mentor is one way to solve this balancing issue, makes AV mienshao checks it. otherwise maybe we ban Focusblast or NP from hydregon, to lower down the pressure of prediction. Hydregon is strong not only because how much damage it brings, let's say Specs salamence even is outspeed Hydre but why no one use it? Because hydre is too perfect -Item AV wont work, someone already put calcs up there. -Steath rock wont do much to it,. -Due to dark type+levitate, Pursuit, Dugdrio, Mirror Coat can't solve it. -8pp recover=8pp DM, Specs hydre can press one dark pulse and force you to recover on it. This makes some spa walls like Mantine or porygon can't safely check it. -Not just a pure wallbreaker, 98base speed makes it not having any bad mu with HO and balance. We need nerf some part on hydregon anyway, ban draco mentor is the most logical approach because it has been added to makes it broken.

  5. GM added fairy type because they realized the balance of dragons and steel move, about thoes dragons MMO did diffrently but with same logic. Before fairys came, we can't really buff any dragons, it's very clear that dragons are strong enough, what is the point to play other attackers if we buff them. You will see a scarf chomp kills starmie after rocks if we do that. There are many things already in game can solve stall, compare to BW we have CC breloom and scizor, also there is a 1.5 gallade they have not nerf yet go feed one. ,

  7. I would agree on this if you say CB/specs wallbreaker, a mon with boosting move has a chance to solve, and Wobb has high risk to guess Encore/Counter either. The effect that Wobb can bring still rely on prediction from both side.
  8. I think Shadow tag Wobbuffet could start to discuss, if nerfing Sharpness has been turned back, which means Shadow Tag should get a same chance. Additionally after Shadow tag nerfed, we expand movepoul these years, Many mons got Teleport UT and Baton pass. Which gives some way to escape from Shadow Tag. It will be a other option to check Gallade speticaly now Sharpness back to 50%, Wobbuffet checks it and with Colbur Berry it stops Gallade easier. We can reverse the nerfing, or increase it to 5 turns. Also we could try reverse the nerf and BAN Tickle.

  13. The fact is people love offence more, rather than stall. it effect many topics about balancing we are facing: PP nerf, DM hydre, Gallade... Another fact is that the they seem to be more interested in doing what players like rather than balancing(I'm not saying totally unbalanced). New HAs or legendaries wont break too much and we can see the expreience from the past. But once adding something from later generation, at least disscuss about it, not just "We have a surprise for everyone" Lastly I have to say PP nerf shouldn't be introduced in a game that cares about balance
  14. I hope we can have extra setting when we are checking winrate in PVP, Like winrate + usage>xx% cz there is no point for knowing that Mienfooooo gets 60% with 0 usage I forgot when this happend but 2 years ago it was OK, once the list starting record more pokemon it became like this

  17. The logic of buffing Gallade because it has been nerfed, so that is why sharpness can become 1.4 in this update , sheer force Nidoking not. So how about pp nerf ? Mandibuzz, bold salamence, xato etc.. get the same(even worse) situation with Gallade now, how about change healing moves back to 16 pp specially DM hydregon is coming.

  19. I agree with extending the change cycle, as a longer period of time can make TC's decisions more rigorous. This is undoubtedly unfriendly to new players who want to try under tier. The monthly tier change results in a much higher cost of money on breading and harder to build a team in under tiers. Once tier change comes the old team need 100% remake. Being able to make some changes to keep more players in the under tier can also solve the problem of requiring too long waiting times for matches.
  20. I agree not to enhance Gallade, the main reason is similar to Goku's viewpoint, whether to disrupt the balance is not the most important thing. If gallade is not bad, there is no reason to buff it. If it is bad, drop it to under tier, that is why we have tiers for different pokemons. To enhance it's ability because it was not achieve the desired usage? Follow the same logic can you enhance both torkoal and haxorus at the same time? Add UT to torkoal also give some extra hp to haxorus because they are too bad in OU. This overly subjective adjustment seems illogical to me. Also how to calculate 1.4 sharpness on the website. I can add a life orb in the calculator when it is 1.3
  21. Add that mon in your team when you can not beat it. See how others beat it then you find the right way.
