People don't often do that for me, make me happy that is. There are occasions when I am walking to town though (I live 2-3 miles outside of it, but I do enjoy the trip still) rarely someone will stop and offer a ride, that does make me smile and tends to put me in a great mood for the rest of the trip, but I never get names so I can't remember them in that case. That small act of kindness in todays world when someone stops, turns around just to ask if you want that ride, such a nice thing to see.

Old shoes always feel better at first, have to wear those new ones in. Also at least you can remember the names of the important people, Mariah. I have trouble with even that at first. Sometimes I can but I have to check to make sure on occasion.

I'm sure it was good, I felt kanto/johto were great when i played them and I had no real issue with the newest region in x/y either. I never played a pokemon game I didn't like but without the long break in between gold/silver-x/y that I took I don't feel like I could have enjoyed the game as they all do feel like the same thing. I don't get into the competitive seen, to much grinding for my taste. Just as boring as playing slots at the gamecorner.

I don't think not remembering names is to abnormal, I am terrible with them myself. If someone tells me there name and it seems like I remembered it, chances are I didn't & I just wrote it down somewhere and am reading it from that.

I think I am done with pokemon games again for 3 or 4 more generations. Seems one or two at a time is my limit. Ruby and sapphire were 2 I never got the first generation I didn't play makes sense for me not to now either.
