Just saying, the default notepad on your computer can be extremely useful for this. Start >All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. It can do exactly what you're describing. I use it for lots of things:
List of my 4 or so alt accounts and the passwords and emails to each Documented my chansey hunting history back when lucky eggs weren't cheap to buy. My win lose record for both of my pokemon teams. I always have one open when I duel. It helps immensely to keep up with PP for longer matches. Also, knowing movesets helps you find those holes to push through in other teams, and aids in predicting your opponent. I would probably lose 25% of my edge without a notepad - not that I had an edge to begin with. I have a "Things to do list on my desktop" pretty often: "Check mail for package on Thursday. Call "Joe" and thank him for interview. Do car maintenance", etc When I get home from a job interview or something important the first thing I do when I get home is type out names of who I met and a short description of how they look physically so I can recognize them. When you remember someone, they often appreciate it. The same for when I get trained for work, I write down everything I can remember immediately when I get home from work and review it before work the next day. I also use it for keeping up with my grocery items. I type something down when I think of it in my head. Sometimes I cross things off later though and say to myself "I don't need that really". When I feel like my final version is ready, I write it out on paper then take it to store. When I leave on my trip to go shop, I know the price range my groceries will cost - (budgeting). I have worked as a cashier and I know how much people spend when they just walk around the store and grab stuff. The answer is.. too much! lol Try it out, I know other people in the game use it. However as far as universally among all computer users, I think it is underused. Good luck in game.

The Safari Hunt is an hour long event, where you have to catch the best Pokemon possible within the given time limit.
 
Note: Staff members will be accepting Pokemon submissions from a certain group of people who signed up for the event. Since this kind of event used to go very slow and messy in the past, we're now going to use registrations and divide players over staff members so all the entries get submitted evenly over each staff member. This will make it easier for the players and easier for staff. When you signed up, you will be appointed a staff member who you should submit your entry to within the time of the event.
 
Everybody that signs up is allowed to play in the event. There are no reserves.
Pokemon will be calculated based on a few factors: All IV's added together + rarity value + 20 points for the nature bonus.
Note: IV ranges will be averaged, rarity and bonus natures are listed further down.

Rules:
- Your Pokemon must be captured and given to the staff member you are appointed to within the hour limit, any Pokemon caught before or after will be disqualified.
- If your Pokemon has any EV's it is disqualified.
- If your Pokemon is a higher level than obtainable in the Safari Zone, it is disqualified.
- Only listed Pokemon count.
- You can only submit one Pokemon per character.
- You should whisper the staff member with your entry.
- Pokemon acquired by fishing are not counted.
- Only give your Pokemon entry to the listed staff members.
- The Pokemon must be your OT.
