    Nidoran Breeding

Any plans to remove this massive gamble in the future?

    Nidoran Breeding

Is there a way to select the gender when breeding them? If i recall correctly you used to be able to re-select the breeders and it'd tell you whether it'd end up being a Nidoran-f or a Nidoran-m. I noticed using a Nidorina to breed results in the egg always being a Nidoran-f which is fine if I wanted to make a Nidoqueen however I want to make a Nidoking so if I want to make a big investment like a 5x31 or 6x31 will I have to gamble a million+ pokebux when I do the last breeding part or am I missing something that lets me get a Nidoran-m?
  3. If your trick doesn't nail Chansey the one time it's used you lose whatever chance that psychic pokemon had of nailing Chansey. If someone sends out a Choiced Metagross instead you die to Pursuit. Again the whole Trick thing can be used to nail Blissey too so there's no point in having it in Uber. Also I made a massive post tackling your "many better options" that you listed most of which are flawed and don't really nail Chansey, and if they do then they can't nail any other common check, plus they need a minimum of 3 turns (or more) to set up and if have 3 free turns to spare you can set up many better win conditions. Any special attacker that can """"""""work""""""""" against Chansey can likely """"""""work""""""""" the same way against Blissey so there's no point in having her banned
  4. Reminds me of Another good gem is Sadly the so called variety resulted in a 50% of Chansey usage. I'm not sure how much usage Blissey had in may/june 2015 since that was around the time I joined MMO but I wouldn't doubt it was around the same as Chansey's current. Reading the Blissey discussion thread (which is a fucking mess because it intertwines Snorlax discussion) the main reason why it was banned was to let other special walls shine since Blissey was pretty much the safest bet if you wanted to wall special attackers (Besides Snorlax) and there was no reason to run Umbreon, Ludicolo, Porygon or Gardevoir while she was around. The arguments against banning Blissey were pretty much the same as the ones against banning Chansey "Just set up on it", "Just use this gimmicky set on a special attacker to beat it", "I've literally never lost to Aegislash in gen7, why ban it", "Guts buttblitzes it", if I missed one I am sure it was posted in this thread too. Granted we now have more offensive oriented items yet Blissey was insta-banned less than a week after the new items were released for being on literally every team along with Gengar. Then the thread has a big amount of theorymonning regarding what would be unleashed after the ban of the normal type blobs, arguments over banning policies, arguments over how metas work, comparisons with Smogon's meta, name calling, drama,"game health", broken BBCode and quotes, please ban Dugtrio and Gengar. After the bans things got "chaotic", people were getting plowed by Gengar, CM Espeon and Growth Jolteon until people discovered Porygon (And to a lesser extent Gardevoir) dumpstered Jolteon and I have no idea what happened to Espeon but it gets like two posts of "oh fuck this guy is too strong" and then vanishes from the discussion and Gengar's most viable counter was Umbreon but still lost to sub-disable but then Gengar got banned so whatever. Then the thread becomes a massive argument about Gengar. But yeah I feel like Chansey has all the same advantages and flaws Blissey had, having one banned while the other runs rampant because it "deals less damage with ice beam, a move that was used just to break Gengar subs" is absurd. Both require 3 spatk boosts by Jolteon/Espeon/Alakazam to get 2HKO'd while she can 3HKO back or status them. Both have the same utility, same usage, same shape, same color, same ability and about the same offensive capabilities (Blissey could break Gengar's subs, now Chansey can break Haunter subs if it wants) either free Blissey or ban Chansey.
  5. I don't doubt that they work but a lot of them are just massive gambles(Trick) and the others are almost trying to reinvent the wheel. Wish Jolteon loses to Toxic Chansey, Rest Jolteon sets up on Toxic Chansey, then rests and the opponent then proceeds to calmly switch an earthquake user while a giant cartoonish question mark appears above their head, Metal Sound Magneton has to hit the 85% acc move twice to be able to 2HKO it vs a Pokemon that can 3HKO it. Fake Tears Jolteon, while meme as fuck, works, yet it also needs to use the move twice to be able to 2HKO it with LO Thunderbolt against a Pokemon that can 3hko it with Seismic Toss. Sub Haunter is reliable but switching into T-Wave hurts it a shitload and like I mentioned, a memester can use Psychic Chansey to mess with it. Venusaur is perfectly valid as an answer, no complaints here, it just doesn't like T-Wave but it's far from useless if T-Waved. Calm Mind Espeon dislikes T-Wave which makes it vulnerable to pretty much any pursuit user such as the powerful Poochyena and Toxic also limits him. To beat Chansey as a special attacker you need. a) Set up b) Recovery c) Immunity or a way to heal status d) An non-ghost type offensive move Alternatively just Trick a Choice item. However to beat Chansey and her team as a special attacker you need: a) Set up b) Recovery c) Immunity or a way to heal status d) An non-ghost type offensive move e) Coverage f) Don't be Pursuit bait Alternatively don't trick any of her 5 teammates your choice item. Sounds like a Calm Mind Morning Sun Psychic Heal Bell Espeon would do pretty well here right? But then Poochyena switches in and your ass is grass. Taunt Recover Psychic, Coverage Alakazam is a 7hko on Chansey. Remove Coverage for CM? Poochyena. Remove Taunt? Status/Recovery happen, Remove Recover? Seismic Toss, Remove Psychic? You do even less damage. Sub/Growth/Wish/TB Jolteon? You're Grounded Sub/Growth/TB/HP Jolteon? Seismic Toss will break those subs while you're unable to heal and boost up or deal enough significant damage to bring it out Sub/Wish/TB/HP Jolteon? You will deal negative damage Growth/Wish/TB/HP Jolteon? Toxic bait that won't muster up enough boosts to take Chansey down before the counter hits 0 Sub/Growth/Wish/HP Jolteon? +6 252 SpA Choice Specs Jolteon Hidden Power Grass vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Chansey: 311-366 (48.4 - 57%) -- 41% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery This is +6 with Specs on top of that. And you become pursuit bait Sub/Swagger Jolteon? Disgusting SleepTalk Jolteon? You're either Grounded or don't beat Chansey anyways. For the record Jolteon needs 3 Growths and Espeon and Zam also need also 3 Calm Minds and a LO before being able to 2HKO Chansey, a pokemon that 3HKO's them without any boosts thanks to Seismic Toss so they need to be on point with their healing, while avoiding status AND boosting before attacking. Haunter is good but if the Chansey user nails it with t-wave on the switch, then it won't be good. By the way Poochyena cannot learn Pursuit so I sure feel silly now, it actually learns Heal Bell for some reason though. Point is to beat a Chansey with a pure special attacker you need a good amount of free turns or luck. And maybe you need to scout which status it has. If it has both you're screwed. You have your own team tho to break through it. But the OP said special attackers that beat Chansey But I also added in stuff like ground types and pursuit But whatever it helps my argument since the game is 6v6 and I can blatantly ignore the original argument to help my own argument. add psyshock, u-turn and volt switch thanks @Kyu
  6. it's not like mmo is the most creati-
  7. While I do know that subsplit is a thing, most of the Haunters I've seen have been Sub-Taunt+offensive moves and really it's perfect to deal with Chansey and I wouldn't even consider a Chansey to have psychic so maybe I just kind of erased it from my mind as a possiblity. But yeah SubSplit should do fairly well. And yeah I agree calling Para'd Growth Venusaur dead weight was a bit too much, it's still fairly effective. I once saw a madman do that on showdown.
  8. I know it's a long post but you guys should try reading it entirely
  9. If Trapinch counts as a Chansey counter (yeah let's roll with this use of the word for a sec) then why don't we count Hitmontop as a Tyranitar counter? Both are extremely shitty in the tier besides that one use, sure Trapinch can nail Chansey and maybe Umbreon if they don't have Shed Hull but is dead weight besides that. Hitmontop can nail Tyranitar and maybe cover some fighting type needs but besides that and intimidate+spinning it's pretty shitty in the tier. Zangoose and Growth Venu dislike switching into Chansey's T-Wave as much as Flygon dislikes switching into Tyranitar's Ice Punch/Beam or Heracross and Breloom into Tyranitar's Fire Blast/Punch/Flamethrower. Taunt Alakazam? Sure nails Chansey (Assuming no T-wave on the switch) but then Poochyena uses Pursuit and Chansey is free to do whatever the same way a fully physical Ttar will just switch into Magneton the moment a Skarm rears its head (Except Skarm can carry Shed Hull). Houndoom nails HP fire and I'm sure it can live a +1 Signal Beam, Metagross likely survives Signal Meme too, if Scarf Hera or Band Aero switch into it while it's using one of its non offensive moves then he's dead. I could also brag about winning a tournament during the Hoopa-U Gen6 meta without using it and just sending out Mandibuzz to nail it and it wouldn't mean shit. But this is a shitpost, not a good argument, you can make cases like this for a lot of other overpowered mons and TTar's massive offensive penis and risk when outplaying it cannot be compared to Chansey's uguu status inducing . Like I said earlier I don't believe Chansey should be banned, the same way I don't believe Blissey should be banned, I'm attacking it simply because I hate the Pokemon and seeing it in 50% of the matches makes me puke and I'm a big manchild who hates fun. But at the same time I feel like banning Blissey and leaving Chansey around is fucking stupid. They both do the exact same thing, the only difference is Blissey can maybe use a few more offensive moves relatively well, but we all know everyone uses it just as a blanket check for special attackers. There's probably one memester that maybe cheesed an important match with CM Hyper Voice Blissey and the next post quoting this will be some guy going "@Blisseymaster1337 Lol look at this tool doubting your Hyper Voice Blissey" but we know it's bullshit and it isn't primarily used as an offensive Pokemon. Sure Gengar was banned and now we got Haunter who still does that whole switching into Chansey and setting up a sub thing and works perfectly fine in OU. However if you are sick of those Haunters and want to be an absolute madman like Blisseymaster1337 then 0 SpA Chansey Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Haunter: 52-62 (43.3 - 51.6%) -- 8.6% chance to 2HKO 0 SpA Chansey Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Haunter: 27-32 (22.5 - 26.6%) -- 19.3% chance to 4HKO 0 SpA Chansey Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Haunter: 27-32 (22.5 - 26.6%) -- 19.3% chance to 4HKO Back then when Blissey got banned Chansey's moves were calced against Gengar and it did around 19% not breaking any subs which was a selling point for letting Chansey stay after Blissey got banned but now Gengar is also gone so. The downside being Chansey becoming semi-dead weight in certain matchups but one could argue the same happened to Blissey, that's how coverage works. In the end my opinion is "It shouldn't be banned, but at the same time Blissey shouldn't be banned. But if Blissey is banned then why the fuck isn't Chansey banned when it does literally the same thing Blissey did?" Just test ban it for a month, see if we get bukkaked by Starmies Jolteons and Typhlosions and then unban it and call it a day. The only people hurt by it would be some new players that decided to make a Chansey for comp since it was cheap and effective but at most they'll be down 100k.
  10. Gunthug could have voiced everyone and won the psychological war tbh.
  11. recover I guess taunt cm recover and one extra move that I assume is psychic Make sure they cannot pursuit you otherwise you're dead as shit.
  12. i should have saved the slavery joke for after this tbh
  13. Eloy vs me about to happen verm 7 bring your own beer
  14. Eloyriptor vs me in 30 mins unless something horrible happens
  15. i thought slavery was abolished ages ago, you can't just own people like this anymore
  16. Good news everybody, we're delaying this for a day or two.
  17. Eloyriptor vs Suigining Thursday at 18:00 CET
  18. Would it? The only Pokemon I can see suffering a lot is maybe Slowbro.
  19. Sounds good. Personally I'd have removed the full para chance on paralysis in general instead of nerfing both the speed drop and the accuracy of Thunder Wave but lol Game Freak. I'm not a fan of nerfing the speed drop though.
  20. Just add the new moves. Gen4 did a massive overhaul for movepools in general and added some interesting mechanics that would freshen up the meta (Until it devolves into Stealth Rock suicide leads). Sadly due to how MMO works all these moves would need new alternate names like "Courageous Bird" or "Trick Area" and coding them in instead of using the base rom would be a pain. The devs probably just wanna work on pve instances right now though which is perfectly fine.
  21. That's why I said Check and not Counter, dear. Here's a lesson for you. A Check is something that would beat whatever is out against it if it switches in safely, a Counter is something that can switch into any of their moves and beat it. So unless that Jolteon is behind a sub scarf Flygon would check it. And most of the stuff you mentioned besides Nidoking who absolutely needs superpower and LO to beat her gets nailed by a status effect they won't like so they aren't safe counters. Sounds to me that you're using Chansey as a crutch. I don't run Chansey because it's my most disliked Pokemon however I can safely say that there's no reason why I shouldn't run it. It's not that I HAVE to run it but there's simply no reason why someone shouldn't run it. It provides all the utility one might want and it's a mindless blanket check to all special attackers.
  22. >Jolteon Checked by Scarf Flygon, Swampert, Venusaur, Porygon2, Lanturn, Quagsire, Steelix, Cradily >Haunter Checked by Umbreon, Houndoom, Porygon 2, Anything with pursuit really, Heracross, Aerodactyl, Metagross, Slaking, Tauros, and Chansey doesn't even wall it. Be careful with WoW though. >Alakazam Almost the same as Haunter, after one CM it does beat Metagross with HP fire though. >Espeon It's a shitty, more expensive Alakazam so it gets checked by the same things. >Venusaur Your argument was that it beat Chansey anyways so I don't get your post >Typlosion Walled by bulky fire types, water types and flash fire users, gets outsped by quite a bit once his eruption gets put down he's somewhat easier to deal with. >Starmie Due to its ridiculous coverage it's probably the only one who will be way harder to deal with but even then Porygon 2 and Umbreon should be able to nail it.
