  1. I don't see why not. Except the department store and game corner ones already have an unlimited supply, so those wouldn't need to be put in the wild.
  2. A problem is that in FRLG held items are are assigned 5%/50%/100% on wild pokes. I don't know how much control the devs have over wild held items since held items aren't implemented at all yet. If they could add a 1% column like in fifth generation games, that would be excellent for TMs or any other rare item people would want to farm for (leftovers, focus bands, rare berries, and so on). see: http://bulbapedia.bu..._wild_held_item
  3. This idea has been brought up before (see the tagged thread on the bottom) and I still think it's the best way to handle getting additional TMs. Using the Horsea example: Someone hunting for a good Horsea to train can trade off any extra Water Pulses or Dragon Scales that they find. Someone hunting for Dragon Scales can trade off Water Pulses or a good Horsea they find. Someone hunting TMs can trade off Dragon Scales or a good Horsea they find.
  4. Something like that could make that 'rental tournament' idea a lot more feasible.
  5. I have to turn the chat ping off when playing one of my other characters, since the name is three letters and appears in a surprising amount of English words. Maybe they could add an 'exact word only' setting if they put in a custom ping list.
  6. I'd like that for trade chat especially. People could get pinged if someone mentions a specific poke that they're looking for.
  7. I think just having held items would be good enough. If someone really wanted to grind for them they could use Compoundeyes/Thief/Covet or something.
  8. Welcome to PokeMMO! I wouldn't worry about your names. They're close enough that people can make the connection between them. I think the important thing is that they're easy to recognize, and you won't get confused with someone else. (I found out the other day that there's an ircop named Alex already, so I'm going to have to use a slightly different name there so people don't get her and me confused.)
  9. You too can have your own virtual pokemon, who will obediently sit on your desk and watch as you play virtual pokemon! I started building paper models from the internet a while ago. It's cheap and easy since you just print out the instructions, cut the pieces out, fold them, and glue them together. Normal paper works alright, but heavier paper like cardstock works a lot better. It didn't occur to me until now to look up pokemon models. http://www.pokemonpapercraft.net/ This blog has instructions for a lot of pokemon. Some are a lot easier to make than others. If you've never done any papercraft before and want to try it out, Porygon is nice choice. http://www.pokemonpa...04/porygon.html

    Hi all

I didn't get around to making one of these before, and I don't want to seem impolite. :) I've been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue, but I haven't played anything after Emerald. Once breeding gets put in, I want to make a small Eevee ranch, since Eevees that have specific natures, hidden powers, or know Wish will be in high demand by the competitive players. It would be awesome if the breeders could make a clan to easily exchange Dittos and Pokemon with specific egg moves, but that's still a long way off. In the mean time I'm just playing through the story. I'm also slowly filling out the pokedex. Anything I don't plan on training I'll probably give away.
  11. We've had packs of people in spooky tower and sup-ma-digga's cave without any issue. I think it would take a ridiculous number of people in one place to cause any problems.
  12. I like the idea of tag battle dungeons. You and your buddy each bring along your top three and crawl through a dungeon full of double battles. Two people teaming up in a pokemon game seems a lot more reasonable than ten.
  13. You could do 252 special attack from gastlys/haunters in the tower, 252 speed from digletts/dugtrios in diglett's cave, and lastly 4 HP from caterpies in the forest.
  14. I wouldn't be so sure about that. Even seemingly simple things can bring forth all sorts of unexpected nastiness. But people have already been thinking about some kind of clock for day/night and changing encounter rates to put in the LeafGreen exclusives. So maybe once those two things happen and all the other higher-priority stuff gets out of the way, we'll see what they can do.
  15. That works well with this being a MMO. Like in the old games you'd find out about swarms from NPC trainers calling you, here you'd hear of a swarm from other players in the chat.
  16. Since other regions are still a long way off, how about having foreign pokemon occasionally come in swarms? While the rare ones make good rewards for tournaments and whatnot, this might be a nice way to let players get the more common ones from the other games. Maybe some kind of daily event, where each day there would be a guest wild pokemon available on a specific route. This would help prevent players from getting bored since there would be something new every day. And even if they miss out on a pokemon they like, they can always trade for one, and eventually people will be able to breed more. Examples: One day, wild Houndour can be found in Route 7. Another day, wild Feebas can be found by fishing in Celadon City. Another day, wild Shroomish can be found in Viridian Forest. I don't know how feasible this would be, since Fire Red didn't have a swarming mechanic. Also I don't know if it's even possible to change what wild pokemon appear without needing to patch it.
  17. Right now the TMs are like they are in FR: they are only used once, and for most of them you can't get any more. I'd like a way to get more uses out of them to make teambuilding easier. Some ideas: -Make TMs able to be used multiple times, like they are in the later games -Let players buy more of TMs if they've found the original one. But that would be more work, since that would mean implementing a new shop and putting checks to see what TMs the player has found. But this would also make it more of a moneysink to put together a team instead of just throwing Earthquake on everything. Move Tutors aren't working yet, but I think they should have multiple uses too. They could be free, or the player could have to pay money/coins for repeated uses, or make the player exchange some item (think like the Move Relearner) for repeated uses.
